Yes I could see that. They have not been balanced since the animal update. The meat and leather is based on animal size and age. The animal is already down to 1.0 size. a cow / muffulo is 2.4.

I totally love those cuties, but they are totally broken and lack balance. They eat 0.32 food per day yet they produce milk worth 0.3 food per day (beating a cow in efficiency that would need 0.37 for the same amount) and they also produce 20 wool every 5 days and serve as pack animals that can carry 75 each. In comparison an alpaca has the same carry capacity, produces with 22.5 almost the same amount of wool yet eats 50% more without producing milk. I suggest dividing all stats of the original muffalo by 3? That would mean only 4 milk every 2 days (based on the 1.1 stats), 40 wool every 15 day, reduced carry capacity to 60. As well as meat reduction down to 112 from 140 and leather from 40 to 32.

Awesome! I didn't realize they changed anything about milking animals. I just came back for the new DLC after a year or so away from the game and I did notice that muffalo weren't giving milk, but I thought maybe it was because they had to give birth first before they could give milk like irl cows. I assume Cows can still be milked in game, any other animals? It seems like such a silly thing to change.

Thanks for the Feedback.

I did review and the numbers were a bit off from vanilla animals.
So I changed the Pygmy's to be a little hardier and require less food to maintain.

Also remember back when they updated the animals they did change the stats on animals making them easier to farm. But did things like take away Milk.

My Pygmy's are like original vanilla but much more cutie.

I love these cute little guys and have been playing with them since the beta. Thanks so much for keeping them alive. But today I noticed for the first time that, unless i'm reading the stats wrong, these pygmys, while being 1/3rd the size and weight, much easier to tame, and providing less meat, wool, and milk than a standard muffalo still eat nearly as much? Muffalo eat 0.86 per day, the pygmys eat 0.8. I see that it takes a lot more to fill a Muffalo's belly since they have a max food of 2.4 while the pygmys have .75, but doesn't that just make the Muffalo more resistant to starving and not change how much it actually consumes? Is there any chance you'd lower the amount the pygmy muffalo need per day to something lower or am I just misunderstanding the stats?

1.4 unstable is here! I'll be working on my mods over the week. I am back :P

I have found no bugs in the day of testing I have done.

Errors may happen as other mods are updated. And features for new version ie.. new coding may not be there as the coding changes can be missed.

Please let me know if you find core coding that needs updating in my mod and I'll put it in!

The milk they make is just milk. What recipe are you trying to make? I know in the 1.3 they removed animal products from vege fine and carni fine. And also in lavish recipes.

I love my pygmy muffalos, they've got to be my favourite animals on Rimworld. But I have noticed that the milk they produce doesn't seem to be counted as an "animal product", which means that a lot of the recipes (especially vegetarian ones I've noticed) don't use it. It counts as an "ingredient" when I check the classification, but not an animal product... I currently have over 5000 milk as it's not being used in recipes which call for an animal product.

1.3 UNSTABLE released!
Note use at your own risk, As unstable receives updates I will follow with updates as I can. All my mods will be pushed up over the next week and monitored till full release. I try and find all the coding and feature updates in the coding be will miss some. As just last weekend I found a coding change from 1.2... lol Please leave feed back if you find something not working in 1.3 correctly

Yeah, I don't mind just giving you the texture files! How should I send them? My dessicated pygmy muffalo miiight be a little rough because I don't actually know how to use digital art programs lol, I just cut+paste+blend on gimp, but you could take a look at see what you think!

I did a tiny patch for color variations for these pygmy muffalos, do you mind if I post it? Or should I message Spoonshortage about it? It includes recolored versions of the pygmy muffalo texture in it. Also, I slapped together an actual dessicated pygmy muffalo texture (rather than reusing the regular dessicated muffalo) and was thinking of including that too if it's cool with you guys?

I believe the bug Zairya has pointed out, which I also have, has something to do with the "A Dog Said" patch. Sarg Bjornson's Alpha Animals had the same problem with animals showing up in the "Created at" line and he fixed it by doing something to the "A Dog Said" patch in his mod. Hopefully this helps narrow down the problem.
