This mod is pretty simple. I just create a typical backpack class and have the following class attributes reference the same data as the vest I want the backpack to look like: model, picture, hiddenSelections, hiddenSelectionsTextures. You can unpack this mod and use it as an example. its possible to add custom vests? like vests from RHS, CUP etc.

would it be possible to add the raven vest to the backpack slot? it looks like it would fit over the EOD or press vests with less clipping than the others

It's to bad the pistols won't show up in the holsters when you have a belt in the backpack slot. It would be awesome if you could just make the holsters or the vest in the backpack slot have armor that way if you equip the belt to show the pistol in the holster you have 0 armor. Otherwise, I like it.

I'm currently not planning to add plate vests. I wasn't able to get them to have armor when they're backpacks.

Will you be adding more vests into backpacks? like the Modular Carrier Vest?

leave a rangemaster holster to vest section and add only tactical vest to backpack section

It's not possible to edit BI models. Their .p3d models are binarized and cannot be edited normally. And as far as I know, there are no official tools to unbinarized them into an editable format because you're not supposed to.

Are you familiar with the OPTRE Mod? Specifically the HCW M55 marine body armor? It doesn't have any ammo pouches on it at all. I used the mod and the apex chest rigs fit perfectly over it and look really nice. I was just wondering if it's possible to remove the "vest" part of the model, no straps or webbing, and just have the ammo/equipment pouches showing, so that the straps and other parts aren't clipping through the armor. It's hard to explain, I would need to show you in a screenshot (hence why I asked for discord)
