Very cool idea, very fragile drones (and carrier)
It's quite smart making the drones collect resources for you
I wish there was a way to reattach drones to the carrier, could be possible with that RR block

How do you release the drones

ok
Falchoin  [author] Aug 12, 2020 @ 10:19pm
Were you trying to use it in co-op? This version is single player only. In the description is a version that's co-op compatible.
1ns1d3r_ Aug 12, 2020 @ 9:24am
i cant use it
Falchoin  [author] May 25, 2020 @ 7:18pm
Thanks!

well it looks cool either way, gj man
Falchoin  [author] May 25, 2020 @ 11:30am
Hmm, I guess it kinda does? Though it wasn't my intent to copy the look.
DuplexDeer May 25, 2020 @ 11:04am

trailer bits can be bought up to a limit at,until they restock, i have stocked up on them for a few days, but they are a little more limited than other parts you can just create
Falchoin  [author] Jan 7, 2020 @ 10:50pm
Hmm, possibly for the R&D folks. Getting that many trailer bits might be difficult in campaign since they're experimental. Not to mention it's pretty finicky lining everything up just right. Non-R&D users could try using the BF collector hoops instead. They're easier to use and can be much more easily acquired in campaign.

Either way, I'd rather despawn then resummon as necessary. Or just travel a bit slower so the drones can all keep up.
SexyGamerChickxoxo Jan 7, 2020 @ 9:26pm
if you use hooks you can reattach them as a trailer this may help ppl out
Falchoin  [author] Dec 15, 2019 @ 9:54pm
TerraTech doesn't support recalling techs released by explosive bolts. The closest you can come is despawning the drones (easy via tech manager) then reloading your current tech to the Maul again. You'll lose a bit of power restarting all your bubbles, but it could be useful for traveling long distances.
DarthWidar Dec 15, 2019 @ 4:35am
are you able to reattach the drones to the "mothership"?
Falchoin  [author] Dec 14, 2019 @ 11:13pm
It shouldn't take too long if you're harvesting trees in a grasslands biome. Alternatively, you could spawn in a charger tech. I do agree it takes a very long time if you rely only on the built in solar panels, they're meant for power maintenance while the Maul isn't in use.

When I spawn it in I usually charge it up about half way with a turret or base, deploy the drones, then make use of the built in mobile furnace generators to finish powering it up.
wmacc Dec 14, 2019 @ 7:31pm
my only concern is the time it takes to get it to full energy capacity
Falchoin  [author] Dec 7, 2019 @ 3:42pm
Thanks! Glad ya like it!
arvade Dec 7, 2019 @ 12:26pm
tahs cool
Falchoin  [author] Nov 27, 2019 @ 3:12pm
The default button is X. If that isn't it, check your keybindings for the explosive bolts.
Boofie Nov 27, 2019 @ 12:19pm
how do you release the drones
Falchoin  [author] Nov 16, 2019 @ 6:30pm
I had posted the Hatchet a few days before the Maul. You can get it here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1876944336
Squire lord Nov 16, 2019 @ 11:54am
Can you upload just a drone?
Falchoin  [author] Oct 14, 2019 @ 8:52pm
Haha, yes a lot of testing. Though it helps that I reused the drones from an earlier build and have made other carriers before. The biggest test was just after I built the spine and put all the drones on it to see if the concept of nose-down releasing would work in the first place.
The Mexicutioner Oct 14, 2019 @ 7:29pm
Damb this must have taken a lot of testing
Limbic Lacker Oct 14, 2019 @ 5:35pm
JESUS CHRIST! That is the coolest thing I have seen in a while. Im no going to even pretend to know how that works, let alone how it works so smoothly
Falchoin  [author] Oct 14, 2019 @ 4:23pm
Thanks! Always nice when a build works out better than you thought it would.

Thanks, glad you like it! I've made a number of techs over my time in TerraTech, but I think this one is one of my best mixes of form and function.
THE ORB (with a tie) Oct 9, 2019 @ 3:01pm
This thing is awesome. I can definitly not build this . Iv'e only been playing for a month and I am doing pretty well BUT THIS IS TOP NOTCH
Falchoin  [author] Oct 9, 2019 @ 12:32pm
Make sure you’re using the unstable branch of TerraTech (1.3.2.3 as of this post). There are directions in the bottom of the description. It should work even if you don’t have R&D since it does not use experimental blocks.
Skyfry428 Oct 9, 2019 @ 12:13pm
It won't let me spawn this thing in the R&D Chamber
ZeroGravitas Oct 7, 2019 @ 2:29am
Ooh. There we go, finally; Salem's Train hit the 10 day mark so is dropping out. Now you're on the top spot, as this should be.:bigups:
ZeroGravitas Oct 6, 2019 @ 3:00pm
Hmm, that's kinda weird. Steam can certainly take until the end of the day to first list an item in any position, at first. But generally it updates the relative positions immediately. I've tweaked my items in real time by unfavouriting or down voting my own to de-prioritise, etc, and seen other's go straight up to the top page after favouriting, etc.

Matt's "tech of the week" seems rarely to have made any notable impact on workshop views (I watch these things out of interest). But then mostly he's selected fairly unremarkable items that are a week old or so, so already peaked. Whereas this was brand new, so just a couple of views can make a difference early on, and it looks cool, so will have gotten more click-through, probably...

Anyway, hope you keep enjoying posting. Always glad if I helped inspire anyone.
Fingerpretzul Oct 6, 2019 @ 1:16pm
After a about week things don't show up on the front page. I had a scrap mechanic creation get to 3rd on the front page. Following week it wasn't there at all. My assumption is steam does this to keep on tech from always being front page.
Falchoin  [author] Oct 6, 2019 @ 12:22pm
Not yet. It's just Steam being Steam. My guess is things only get sorted once or twice per day. This is still the best response to a new tech I've posted despite Salem's awesome train creative save and your great all-rounder build. Probably a large part of which is due to it being picked as Tech of the Week (thanks devs!).

Regardless, it doesn't bother me. I post techs because it's fun to run with ideas and see what other things get inspired. ZG, your comment about a dedicated carrier for Hatchets in my Hammerhead comment section inspired this in the first place.
ZeroGravitas Oct 6, 2019 @ 12:11pm
I honestly don't understand why this item's now listed above my "MaraudingElephant" right now, on the workshop.:lunar2019shockedpig: All your visible stats and higher and you posted it more recently. I feel like a fraud... Did you somehow pick up a negative rating or anything?
Falchoin  [author] Oct 4, 2019 @ 11:33pm
You need to be in the unstable branch since it uses some of the new Hawkeye armor blocks introduced in 1.3.2.1. Directions to access the unstable branch are in the description at the bottom.

It does not require R&D.
Nitro Oct 4, 2019 @ 11:28pm
showed up in my game as missing blocks. In r&d mode so not sure why there was an issue
Falchoin  [author] Oct 4, 2019 @ 10:06pm
Thanks, and it being a bigger build with several AI will stress the game engine more than most. Though it's not as bad as my Piecemaker or Warthog. The Hammerhead may be a good option, it's smaller with a similar style.
nba youngboy Oct 4, 2019 @ 9:39pm
is it just my shit pc or is this tech really laggy
cool build tho
Falchoin  [author] Oct 4, 2019 @ 7:13am
Thanks! I really like how the drones drop too.
