So btw the downwards speed is apparently bugged , no matter what u set it to its always the same as the standart pole

I see the same things as VoiD. I often have to restrict dupes' pathing options when using these.

I like the idea of the mod! Unfortunately, I do have a problem. Before you continue, the config is default and I'm playing vanilla CS-466292-0. If it's a version conflict, maybe it's that simple and no need to read on.

I downloaded it today and started replacing a bunch of my plastic ladders with it. All seemed fine until I noticed some dupes taking wide paths to old stone ladders I made for mining/building. The dupes seem to ignore the Ribbed Fire Pole if a stock ladder is usable, even if the path is terrible. Maybe there is something off with the priority, or the dupes don't understand how fast the Ribbed Pole is?

Any chance of adding the materials cost to the config file? It'd be nice to be able to make them cheaper/from other materials if the user desires.

having it being forced to be made from steel while i can see why is very expensive and not that explanitory as fire poles can be made from every type of metal ore

i would suggest allowing to build it out of any refine metal but increase both the plastic (to 50) and the metal (to the 150)

via Mod Updater from Stephen (Workshop) to bypass the steam problem, of upgrading not to the latest build.

So your solution is to force update the mod? (in one of the releases there was an issue with the custom texture, hence the error)

So...This basically is an all-in-one "elevator" tile?
We need an elevator as "deluxe" version of it. Bonus decor, not burning calories to get up and down, in exchange of standardized speed on both ends and transport one dupe at a time.

Great mod, however when using it I get 10 fps decrease in performance :(

This lets you consolidate up/down movement into one column which is nice but the dupes prioritize it even lower than a regular fire pole for upward movement so you have to make sure its the only way up or down for any distance it is installed or they take terrible paths. In a way that is a plus because it forces you to optimize pathing which is a skill you need to learn to reduce lag later in the game.

Sadly if dubes have the choice, they prefer ladders (if some on their route are there) than the fire pole. So they walk weird routes.

Thanks for the config! This is back in my mods list.

I can add the material cost to the config, however, if you would like to add/remove material types that would probably make the config too complex. I can add amounts though if needed.

Appreciate the config, I presume material cost is too complex to put in a config, it's all good though, I can just manually calculate how much extra steel it should cost and dump that amount somewhere and destroy it.

Seconding the require for a config file. I want to reduce the climb speed so this doesn't outright replace ladders.

Is it possible to add a config that allows you to adjust the speed and if possible the material cost? I use the steel ladder mod which gives +50% run speed, so I'd love to be able to configure this pole to give +50% run speed but also cost the extra amount of steel that it would cost to build the ladder as well. As it stand now I only use these poles outside of high traffic areas which kind of defeats the purpose.

Hmm, that would make it so that you could put the ribbed fire pole on top of a tube. That might work.
