Is the Imposing Obelisk one big 2001 Easter Egg?

Is this compatible with other mods? I'm really hoping to use this with my other mods: A.D. 633 Rise of Islam and Ancient Religions Reborn and Expanded.

Hi I know this is technically not a part of this mod, but I thought I'd try to ask here since you seem so helpful. I've been looking for a mod that lets you change the description of your Great Works, just as you can currently change their name. Since I didn't find one, I thought I'd try to mod it in but I'm definetely not an expert and I have no clue as to what files to change. If you ever have time, could you tell me here or privately how that should be done? Or if you prefer, just add it to your mod, that would be even better

Are we ever going to get a view of the other side of that Harbor Colossus? You know... so we can see the Colossus' colossus c-(timed out for 1066 hours)

I have a question,

My game keeps crashing if I try to select the Great Pyramids of Khufu. I don't know what mod is causing it, but I would think it is either this mod, or your Additional Wonders mod. Do you have any information on this? Thank you.

Any Update?
Zack Wester Nov 7, 2019 @ 7:14am
quick question as I mention earlier the Aqueduct is a bit week in my opinium but I thought that maybe it effect could spill over to neighboring Provinces. so if I build a Aqueduct level 1 it effect just the Provinces it was built in, when I upgrade it to level 2 it buffs its own Provinces and all neighboring friendly Provinces. level 3 two provinces away. level 4 3 Provinces away.
this would let you get water in the whole of sweden Scandinavia in about 4-5 great Aqueduct.

nice

Do they translate to any bonuses in EU4 converter like the vanilla wonders do?
Spaghetti Oct 26, 2019 @ 10:04pm
hey caeser you should make a mod that adds more artifacts like more helmets and apparel like belts and coats
BTandbt Oct 25, 2019 @ 1:50pm
it is compatible with 3.3.0 ?
Zack Wester Oct 20, 2019 @ 12:09pm
only me that finds the finds the Disease defense/resistense from the Aqueduct a bit lacking. level 2 aquaduct give the local demense a mere +1 any kind of update to the hospital gives more then that. and the only update the silver linning alos just the demense is +5 or +8 (still worse then a low level hospital. (if I havn´t read it wrong and it applies to my whole kingdom but from what I see it does not.

@Wild_Hike That happens when you have too many mods on steam. I'm currently in the process of pruning mods I don't use that often, and downloading those I do from forums if possible. Essentially just unsubscribe from the mods you don't use and then delete them.
Mad Data Scientist !PC Sep 29, 2019 @ 10:42am
Can any1 still rename wonders after using this mod and Caesar's Wonders?
The button no longer works for me.
Wild_Hike Sep 28, 2019 @ 4:40pm
Does anyone else have the problem where they subscribe but the mod never downloads. This isn't the only mod it happens to me on, a lot of mods for CK2 this happens for. Any tips? I really would love to use this mod but i can't :(((
Pitriot Sep 27, 2019 @ 2:51pm
pretty much all of these stuff are in paris.

The national revolt risk of the Triumphal Arch is broken: The game attempts to apply it to the county instead of the character, resulting in it not being present anywhere.

Can you make one mode that change the appearance of pagan temples
So not everyone looks like Nordic temples?

Is this compatible with the eu4 converter?
Emy XIX Sep 20, 2019 @ 2:51pm
hello they know if there is any mod that lets you have more wonders in a county
Anarch Cassius Sep 12, 2019 @ 6:43pm
@Danny R. It's a cross that denotes a market. Frankly even the most impressive of them (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chichester_Cross) don't quite seem on the level of other Great Works, but they are a cheap one and a fill an economic niche. I would imagine that one qualifying as a Great Work also symbolizes some level of economic development in the County.

@CaesarTheRoman After learning what Land Organization actually is, morale recovery, it seems incredibly inappropriate for a Bridge, but would make nice substitute for Fort level on the Colossus.
Danny1222 Sep 6, 2019 @ 8:26pm
what the hell is a market cross
Anarch Cassius Sep 5, 2019 @ 7:57pm
It's not... though I can never unsee that now. It's a squished odd perspective of something like this https://static.turbosquid.com/Preview/2016/05/03__09_18_41/SIGN.png0dff8483-62c8-4e8e-aec7-7d644e7cb75fOriginal.jpg

Why is the Harbour Colossus a man with a top hat and a cane?
Splatter300 Sep 3, 2019 @ 3:11pm
This is pretty cool, it's a shame these aren't in vanilla, especially the market cross (one's in my town which was built in the timeframe of CK2, around 1350 ish) but who knows, they do sometimes take inspiration from popular mods. Would love a Colossus, some arches and aqueducts in my Rome game, but it's Ironman/achievements sadly.
kasper.krusejensen45 Sep 3, 2019 @ 1:02am
Ah i just realised that i asked Ceaser if he thought having a senate was a good idea, i guess i already know the answer to my question. :D
kasper.krusejensen45 Sep 3, 2019 @ 12:55am
Or maybe a senate/forum building which has additions which makes either feudal or burgher lords like the owner more? Maybe even able to raise local tax and reduce revolt risk. Again just a polite suggestion. :D
kasper.krusejensen45 Sep 3, 2019 @ 12:53am
I have a suggestion, if you would hear it? Maybe make a ''Legion Camp'' to continue with the classical and romaneque choices in this mod. Basicly a field of mars type building which gives additional retinue points or several wonder retinues like already exists with the other wonders. So a building which is expensive but gives a feeling of owning an imperial legion. Just a suggestion, the current additions are already amazing and this mod is great. :D
Monzun Sep 2, 2019 @ 9:10am
These are great! Good job! :D
Super fun to see well made Great Works!

I haven't look at the balance, but here are my five cents^^

- Colossus could use a "NOT = { religion = iconoclast }" I think.

- Also the commented out code for restriction the potential for the bridge seems correct. Is there something bugging out with it? :)

- "show_in_history = yes" is redundant as this field defaults to true.
I added this field only so that the feature system could be used for negative things as well. We originally planned to use it for earth quake damage on the Lighthouse of Alexandria, but we ran into some problems with it and ended up skipping that one.

- Maybe you already know, but the convention of 4 stages per Great Work is just a convention we applied to be consistent in vanilla. If I remember correctly, stages 1-15 should be possible and it is "infinite" as long as you can also modify the numeral images to support more (Numerals width get silly fast!).
Anarch Cassius Sep 1, 2019 @ 3:47pm
The River Bridge should only be buildable in locations that have a river. This was commented, I tested it without comments and removed lakes as a clause. It seems to work fine.

It also lacks Road and Tolls but does have its own versions. One solution to the overpowering might be to have the Road Network simply be an extra Great Roads (like the Underground City's Travel Tunnels, but maybe requiring Great Roads first) and the Toll House and Road Tolls both allowed. So it can build up transportation a lot but takes longer and more slots. I don't think any Work should give a Global Movement bonus period.

The River Bridge could also have the Chain upgrade.

All in all these are cheaper, but have generally few upgrade options on average compared to most vanilla works. If the actual boosts are brought in line they should really round out the set.
Anarch Cassius Sep 1, 2019 @ 3:46pm
Back to the Colossus, Tarrifs and Tolls sounds awkward, so maybe Tarrifs Office. The Colossus has all of the Harbor's uniques so maybe drop the Cothon, Lighthouse, Military Wharf and/or Title. I like Siege Defense since it could represent inspired guards, but having Fort Level on par with a Fortress or Wall for what is, at best, a strategically placed statue is a bit much. I'd give it Prestige or Trade instead. The Chain and Murder Holes are a better way to represent defense.

Harbour should be spelled Harbor just because that's how it is in the rest of the game. Also the harbor straddling pose is probably not feasible with ancient construction, not sure if you care about that though :)
Anarch Cassius Sep 1, 2019 @ 3:45pm
Great new options, I love the upgrades for them. The concepts are really good though the balance needs work.

The Triumphant Arch, Obelisk and Market Cross lack Watchtower Network. The Obelisk lacks Tavern. The Colossus lacks Great Roads. The Grand Aqueduct and Colossus lack Road Tolls.

These are things that every vanilla Great Work has.

Perhaps the Market Cross and Arch should have Pipes/Hypocausts since the Statue and Harbor do... but that's a judgement call. I'd say the Obelisk should get a Tower like the Standing Stones, but still lack heating as the Standing Stones.

Obelisk text is odd. What if Obelisks aren't foreign to you? Fearful is pretty vague for yellow text. Maybe: "A towering obelisk that serves as a reminder of the builder's power and Prestige, reducing the likelihood of Revolts."

If you want them being from some cultures then restrict their construction like Amphitheaters. Don't be too restrictive though, they were pretty common.

This must be in the game :diplomacy:

Dude your mods are best
Hendrixx Aug 31, 2019 @ 4:10pm
ughhh you are such a great modder, bless your heart.
Boaboa Aug 31, 2019 @ 4:05pm
You make some of the highest quality mods for CK2, good job.
Candesco Aug 31, 2019 @ 3:20pm
I miss famous wonders like the Hanging Gardens, Tower of Babel, Piramids of Gizeh, Great Wall of China. Obelisk is a bit out of place and reminds me more of Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun.

@Brutus Mars
Turn on steam cloud and it should be good. Unfortunately CKII requires that you have cloud enabled, otherwise mods won't install.
Brutus Mars Aug 31, 2019 @ 2:49pm
Is there a download link outside of steam workshop?
Benseth Aug 31, 2019 @ 2:46pm
Another nice mod :) Well done! Here is a few suggestions for more new wonder types: Zoroastrian Fire Temple, Orthodox Basilica (use Hagia Sophia on-map model), Jewish Ghetto (inland harbor variant), Tower (Leaning Tower of Pisa etc), Monastery (Cluny Abbey, Monte Cassino, Mount Athos etc), Caravanserai (market type wonder only buildable in provinces on Silk Road), Qasbah (unique Fortress wonder for Middle Easterners - same modifiers, but different art), Madrasah (unique university wonder for Muslims - similar modifiers, but different art), Satanist Altar (special wonder only buildable by leader of Satanist society), Hermeticist Great Laboratory (special wonder only buildable by leader of Hermeticist society), Templar Citadel / Headquarters (fortress wonder variant only buildable by characters with the Crusader trait).
DBR  [author] Aug 31, 2019 @ 2:27pm
Thank you all for the kind comments.
@Nomadalien You make a lot a valid points dude, I will probably downgrade some modifiers to more sensible values and make an 'overpowered' patch for those who want it.
Donald J. Trump Aug 31, 2019 @ 11:06am
Another great mod PogU
Nomadalien Aug 31, 2019 @ 9:55am
That is why i recommended a 5 or 7 rather than a 10, it's not about these wonders being better, its about them being over-powered as opposed to the under-powered of the vanilla wonders, both are an issue in my opinion, and that is what this boils down to in the end; this is all simply my opinion.
In addition while the Vanilla wonders are under-powered gameplay wise when compared to the
immediate cost, their entire purpose IRL was usually as a non-cost effective vanity project for the builder, the prestige of which and long lasting nature then payed off for those who possessed it later, after all it took 3 emperors to even build the Colosseum.
Baxter Beaton Aug 31, 2019 @ 9:23am
yeah but vanilla wonders are all shitty and not worth the gold most of the time
Nomadalien Aug 31, 2019 @ 8:49am
Considering all other +dynasty opinion modifiers in vanilla are only +3 after all.
Nomadalien Aug 31, 2019 @ 8:33am
Warning: Opinions and hopefully constructive criticisms inbound!
I do quite like your mod but certain features seem a tad overpowered at the moment when compared to the vanilla Wonders... The 30% Global move speed on the Bridge is faintly ludicrous, I would personally recommend dropping the amount slightly, considering that (especially in multiplayer) getting it gives you a ludicrous military advantage, certain other numbers such as the 'private plumbing' city vassal opinion of 30 and the Gilded capstone -5% national revolt risk also seem just a tad too effective as permanent modifiers. Even the Rededication plaque and it's 10 to dynasty opinion may be too strong, perhaps a 7 or 5?
Of course it is entirely up to you how (or even if) you decide to deal with these things that I see as issues, should this be the intended format then feel free to ignore me. :diplomacy:
