Are you okay with any of the following:
Patches, copying code, full fork that copies sprites?

Reading the Fog Hiver race description:

"Though having loss ass sense of self they now travel in packs and attempt to swarm their prey"

It should probably say:

"Having lost all sense of self, they now travel in packs and attempt to swarm their prey"

In hindsight it seems several race mods have this issue. Might just be something that got changed in 1.3 after the initial update. Not really an issue tho so no worries
Sweaters Aug 9, 2021 @ 10:08pm
Hi Sharpedo! I have a slight issue with this mod unfortuanately. All Hivers have names, but the names don't show up on their bio, only their nickname. As example, if a hive drone is called John "johhny" Wilkins -> In bio you will see "Johhny" but not his actual full name. This isn't a massive issue apart from being unable to identify who they are, as in the notification it would still use their actual name and not their nickname. It does throw an error "not all characters have valid names" when you have a "nameless" hiver in the Character Editor mod (which i use in lieu of Prepare Carefully). But thats easily solved by typing in a name for them or removing them from the colonist list. Once in game there arent any gamebreaking errors. Just thought i'd mention this! <3

Either way thanks for making the mod!

Hey, any plans to update this to 1.3? Honestly, I prefer this over the new Rim-Hivers mod.:beeped:

I wish you added in a hiver queen that could actually spawn hivers, also I kinda wish that the different subspecies were actually specialized instead of the same

Woho!!!
Sharpedo-Dressed Man  [author] Nov 12, 2020 @ 3:30pm
New update today! The startup errors and missing faction leaders should be fixed now.
Bartmagus Nov 12, 2020 @ 11:45am
Like I said that was just a suggestion. Just having them back is good enough :)
Sharpedo-Dressed Man  [author] Nov 12, 2020 @ 11:42am
@Bartmagus It's possible, but it would require setting up a patch, which I am not familiar with (same goes for making the races show up in vanilla factions, btw). I may look into it, but for now I'm just focusing on fixing errors.
Bartmagus Nov 12, 2020 @ 11:34am
@Sharpedo-Dressed Man Since you responding so quickly i don't want to bother you any more. But is there a chance of making an option of your races appear as slaves to buy? It's just a suggestion.
Bartmagus Nov 12, 2020 @ 11:22am
@Sharpedo-Dressed Man - you rule! Thenk you
Sharpedo-Dressed Man  [author] Nov 12, 2020 @ 11:20am
@Bartmagus I've found the root of that error and fixed it. I'm working on fixing some other issues too, and then I'll release an update for all of my race mods.
Bartmagus Nov 12, 2020 @ 9:47am
Since HAR updated again this model shows red notifications at the start of the game. I really like this mod. Is there a chance of fixing it?
CrimsonEX Nov 10, 2020 @ 9:35am
Sounds great
Sharpedo-Dressed Man  [author] Nov 10, 2020 @ 9:21am
@CrimsonEX You can go right ahead.
CrimsonEX Nov 10, 2020 @ 7:33am
Hey I've been using your mod for a long time, but I was thinking Would you be ok with me recylcing parts of this mod to "port" my Hiver Exiles mod over to Rimworld? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2046262574
Sharpedo-Dressed Man  [author] Nov 6, 2020 @ 9:19am
@YoburIsushcatel
Please refer to the error discussion. That is a known error that appears after a recent update of Humanoid Alien Races 2.0 and should not cause any problems.

i get this error whenever i launch the game, is this enough to see whats wrong or should i send a debug log aswell
Sharpedo-Dressed Man  [author] Oct 26, 2020 @ 3:59pm
@Wei Long Cok Well that's weird! Glad you managed to fix your problem.
Peasant_Heist Oct 26, 2020 @ 12:29pm
@Sharpedo-Dressed Man Yeah I tried that and did alot more shuffling around of the load order, for some reason its working better (humans are not getting hive backstories Hivers no longer spawn as humans, hivers still have human backstories sometimes). And I'm almost positive its not your mod, sorry about that. This was just the symptom of a problem I cant seem to isolate, but everything is working now lmao so I'm not gonna touch it anymore, just hope some mod in the load order updates and fixes what I was seeing with that error. And strangely enough I was getting that "Babystate" hediff error too but now I'm not, (it just works?:steamfacepalm:) thanks for the help though!
Sharpedo-Dressed Man  [author] Oct 26, 2020 @ 8:48am
I've made a discussion topic for problems with the mod. If you encounter any errors, please report them in that topic. On my machine, HD Pawn Textures (HAR Edition) doesn't seem to cause any errors related to this mod's factions or generation. The only error I've seen with that mod enabled is a missing reference to a "BabyState" hediff.
Sharpedo-Dressed Man  [author] Oct 25, 2020 @ 2:27pm
@Wei Long Cok
It sounds like your issue may be with the HD HAR Texture mod you mentioned (I assume you're referring to HD Pawn Textures HAR Edition), which I unfortunately know nothing about. I suggest trying to run the game with just HAR and the race mods and see if you still encounter errors. I'll look into that mod, too.
Peasant_Heist Oct 25, 2020 @ 10:31am
And just to clarify, the races are loaded below the HAR mod, and before the HD HAR Texture. Hopefully that helps
Peasant_Heist Oct 25, 2020 @ 10:28am
Sadly, the only other helpful info I have is that, when I unloaded this and the other Kenshi races, the "Could not resolve cross-reference to RimWorld.FactionDef named WesternHive (wanter=factions)" error stopped showing up for this and the other Kenshi races :(

Other than that, love the mods and I second the idea; the equipment should get bonuses (fog masks mitigate toxic fallout, assasins rags maybe increase move or melee speed to offset the low armor and give the feeling of increased mobility, and the possibility of a hive queen birthing more soldiers if she is hooked to the dispenser unit and properly cared for, IDK how you would balance that TBH but it would be fun and make the mod feel more mechanically unique), when you get the time of course.
Peasant_Heist Oct 25, 2020 @ 10:28am
@Sharpedo-Dressed Man Thanks for the quick reply! Its definitely near the bottom and loaded before the HD HAR Textures (It says to load after all HAR races). I saw somewhere that HAR updated and may have changed how factions are either defined or found, but I'm no modder and I haven't a clue how that works :(. But I was definitely seeing humans pop up with Hive backgrounds, and Hivers pop up with human backgrounds.

Nothing game-breaking but its odd seeing a 27-year old human Hiveborn and Hive Soldier (I just head-canoned that he was found and adopted by the Western Hiver traders lol.)
Sharpedo-Dressed Man  [author] Oct 25, 2020 @ 9:15am
@Wei Long Cok
I believe your error with the faction is likely caused by your load order. Make sure this mod is loaded BELOW Humanoid Alien Races 2.0 on your mod list. I still have no idea why the textures wouldn't be working properly if the race itself works, but please report back if that is still the case after you check this fix.
Peasant_Heist Oct 25, 2020 @ 1:26am
Same problem as @Mordor_citizen and I get this error on startup:
