This still works for me in 2025 with all the recent updates and patches!

Please update. Yours is the only mod that keeps the fog but makes it thin enough to make views good, especially from tall buildings.

Hi, i have your mod and it usually works great, but since the June 22 nd 2023 update, it's so damn foggy you can't see far, does this mod perhaps need an update to cope with this?

Such a huge improvement. Thank you so much!

I understand, thanks a million

Siptha probably has it's own weather control system, which is, alas, not part of the devkit for monetary reasons by funcom, and I therefore can't adress.
Lahabria Sep 26, 2020 @ 12:54pm
Doesn't seem to work on Siptah

No.

Does this mod need an update for mounts?
Apollonia  [author] Nov 15, 2019 @ 8:48am
High altitudes don't generate more fog. It is simply the fact that up there are worse weather conditions like snow and rain, which uses a different modifier than clear weather. For clear weather fog render distance is 5 instead of 1, bad weather goes with 2 or 3 if I remember correctly. Not sure, I lost the source files in a devkit crash.

Perhaps you could look at this mod again and check if there is any type of fog that gets rendered when you are at high altitude? It seems that being high above the ground renders more and more fog.

Very cool mod, thank you for your work! Now all it needs is that the fog in the snowy mountains and the volcano gets reduced too, to be able too see a bit fruther
Astyria Oct 21, 2019 @ 4:12am
Wow, thanks. Will try it out today.

I made an experimental one at your request, however it seems that "removing" the fog exposes yourself to a horizon of maximum render distance. Not sure if that makes good scenery.

Sorry, to further clarify (after reading one of your responses)... I'd love to eliminate the fog from every region, not just the desert.
Astyria Oct 20, 2019 @ 6:54am
You seem to have the only mod that reduces the fog. Is there any chance you might make a mod that totally eliminates the fog altogether? Especially the higher up in altitude you go, the more and more fog covers everything. Would like to have scenic views from up on high.
Apollonia  [author] Oct 9, 2019 @ 11:59am
I would think so. It doesn't touch any of the fixed files.
Jean-Luc Picard Oct 9, 2019 @ 8:43am
Is this mod comptible with the latest patch?
Apollonia  [author] Aug 28, 2019 @ 1:55am
I remember in Early Access there was this fantastic vista, and then suddenly there was fog all over. I, too, assumed it was to reduce resource consumption, but with the fog reduced I can't say I notice any difference, and my GUP is about 5-6 years old by now. Oh, ultimate settings, too.
Luward Aug 27, 2019 @ 8:11pm
I run on ultimate graphic settings, and either this mode doesn't make much of a difference, or I do not yet realize how much of a difference it is making. I always assumed the in-game fog for everything with large vistas is just a game mechanic to reduce graphical resource usage.
Apollonia  [author] Aug 27, 2019 @ 8:39am
It seemed silly that there is so much fog in the desert. Of course it applies to the highlands now as well, cos clear weather is a variable applied to all regions. But then again there is hardly clear weather up there.
Luward Aug 27, 2019 @ 7:06am
I like how it looks
Apollonia  [author] Aug 27, 2019 @ 4:55am
Sure. There you go.
