When having the +0, for me it was when I also had the University Mod installed, that adds books with +0,5 bonuses, that are shown as +0. When I found a real book of the mod, see the list, it had its modifiers.

Incredible work on the books, sadly for some reason they give +0 bonus, but still serve well as gifts and lore immersion (improves sieges and raiding by a lot)

The works of Galen would be very good ones for a mod. His medical work would give a real boost to hospitals, perhaps opening tech early, like separated wards and surgical observatory. Going from treating gladiators, aristocrats and the Emperor all the way to designing hospitals and treatment regimens for the Roman Army, Galen covered so much in the way of medicine that it isn't funny. Even when Muslims had translations of his works they weren't implemented. A good diet, psychological treatment for the mentally ill, advanced medical tools and how to use them... the list of what he documented isn't funny. Galen based hospitals would be very advanced and offer some treatments that could keep characters alive in CKII. Its not like his works were unknown but were discounted or seen as nearly heretical in some places due to the practices involved. Risk the ire of the Church or build a decent hospital far more effective than the CKII standard...that would be a great decision to have.

I have noticed the same issue that @Iksander had. All the books I have picked up during sieges (I am no raider, just general sieges in war) and that give me the 'translate' option, give 0 bonus. Have you found any issues in relation to this?

Is there a learning requirement like is common with many of the game books? Especially the Chinese books shouldn't be legible by the avg. ruler.

@CaesarTheRoman Ok. One more clarification: I was playing as a raider and collecting lots and lots of books through raiding and that is where things went wrong, I think. As I also saw plenty of books give the proper + bonus on AI characters, it was just most of the ones I stole through raiding were not giving any bonus.

@Iskander The artifacts in this mod are all tagged as 'book' so they may be getting picked up by an event that doesn't handle them properly? Not sure. I'll check it out and update if needed.

when I input the debug titles ("cbs_x") for some of the books in console commands it says invalid artifact

I have to ask...do you need to start a new game for the mod to take hold of your savegame?

Hi Ceasar, i wanted to share a tip.
If in the interface file (cbs_books) in your mod, you specify it to be a jpg file rather than a dds then the game will recognize it.
removing the need to convert everything in to dds

Tip: Rename "Dnyaneshwari" to "Gyaneshwari".

The transliteration of "Gya" is faulty in English so they often mistranslate it to "Jna" or "Dnya" or such. The correct is still "Gya".

Unlikely. I wanted this mod to mostly contain books that were contemporaneous with CK2 timeline. Ancient/mythical books might be good content for another mod though.

There is one African book that spawns, the Sundiata Kieta. Arab works spawn in North Africa too.
