Work is currently underway to update this mod for the current version of the game. Look out for a new version of the mod (same name, different page). There may also be extra features included if time allows.

Has anyone figured out how to get it to work with 2.6? Seeing as how I have time on my hands, don't mind editing some files, but not sure what is causing the amoebas to be built bare w/o any armaments or armor

Dude, you had no need to rewrite that single file. Simply create a new Technology in place of changing the Amoeba Strike Craft. When that new Technology is researched, it either automatotally gives you the Vanilla rendition technology or it gives you the option to research it. NEVER change a file if you do not have to do it!

it was so cool mod, so i feel miss because of this mod isn't work.
i hope you return soon, but i know that modding is not your job.so i have no right to persist that you should fix this mod.

Thank you all for writing in the comments. I apologize for the lack of communication in the past few months. We may never come back to update this mod to work for current versions of the game, but if we do, I will post here to announce it. Thank you so much for enjoying Amoebas And More while it was still functional :) .

As others have said, it doesn't look like the mod works for the current patch. The techs appear, but once they are researched, it doesn't actually give you the option to build the space amoebas.

I love the idea of this mod - but I just can't seem to get it to work? Is there a particular setting that will allow this mod to work? I have all the dlc and have tried multiple games (about 8 so far - non-iron man, small regular galaxies with default setting & no other mods) have researched amoeba pacification and then apart from the regular breeding and regen options there's nothing? Is it still working or am i missing something?

hey, would you happen to know what the command ID would be for things like amoeba and crystal pacification? i can't find the empire modifier id or a working story ID to force the event

I've researched the tech for the ameobas, but I still don't have the option to create the ameoba ships for some reason.

This is actually a pretty good mod, I dont know any metas, so im gonna say that the Amoebas seem pretty balanced with their costs and mil power and everything, good work.

@gmansawesome2015 thanks for the feedback, when you complete the amoeba pacification project our mod does add onto that event chain. if we do ever develop an update to this mod i'll be sure to look into creating another event that triggers based on researching the flagella upgrade.
(i recommend playing as a religious empire for a higher chance of the event spawning through divine intervention)

@SilentKore as i can't recreate the issue it makes it almost impossible to fix it for you, i'd recommend reinstalling the distant stars Dlc and seeing if that fixes it, as the the only difference in our mod files is that it's locked behind the DLC.


@Kronos this should work with gestalt. I've not personally tested it with gestalt but friends have told me it works.

Sorry for the late as h-ell reply @Kroth, I never got a notification about it.

Nut that's all the info I have, I can research and build everything else, but the Centenarian never shows up. Also, something I ran into recently: I haven't come into contact with amoebas in my last 2 games but I get the technologies anyway. It doesn't make sense to me.

Adding to my comment below;

From what I understand the event to research amoeba flagella is triggered by encountering space amoebas, so that makes sense that after encountering space amoeba you research flagella, then war amoeba, then mother amoeba

I really like this mod and the concept. However I haven't gotten the event yet for 4 games straight and I don't think the event should be triggered randomly. I just have an idea that maybe the war amoeba or mother amoeba could also be unlocked in a tech chain with the "Amoeba Breeding program" that unlocks amoeba flagella?

This make sense as you go from Flagella -> War Amoeba -> Mother amoeba in 3 technologies

@Hanling i am sorry that you're having trouble with the mod, i wasnt able to recreate your problem with building amoebas after trying for 3 games. for making them designable i'd love to but as i stated earlier both of us are very busy right now and currently upgrading this mod is not on our agenda. it's not likely but if we do get some more time for modding we'll post an update to the mod :)

@Enishiq i looked into this and i could recreate the issue when trying to load a save that had been previously played without the mod being active. if that's the issue i am not sure how to fix it and it's one of the reasons that we decided this mod was not save game compatible.

@MajorMagers i would love a mod that could do that it sounds really cool :) i recommend suggesting it on the stellaris modding community discord and seeing if someone can make it. it's a bit too big of a project for me at the moment (discord link) : https://discordapp.com/invite/CMjnnET

Is there a way that you lose access to the amoebas during a game at a shipyard that has the hatchery? I had a fleet of Centenarians that were decimated and I wanted to refill them but no longer had them (or any other amoebas) as an option

reading the description of this mod got me thinking it would be cool to have the allied space monsters have a base in your borders that they spawn from and can patrol on there own. not your ships just the regular ones.

Thank you again, Kui for bringing that bug to our attention. an earlier change created this unexpected error. Your Amoebas are now able to burn and pillage with more accurate military strength estimates.

Additionally, the 'cannot attack' issue has also been taken care of. Thank you Kui and ]BT[Toriel for pointing that one out.

UngaBoonga - currently i dont have time to make another mod as my schedule is very busy, however i would like to do that in the future (likely several months before i will be able to even get started tho)

]BT[Toriel - i can take a look at the not attacking issue this weekend, if i can get a fix i'll post the update

Kui - thanks for the feedback i'll be looking into this on the weekend. the false military strength may be a bit more then i have time to fix for now. Popapopp is more well versed in the ship mechanics then i am, so when we meet next we can work on that fix. (sometime early aug is likely)

Very bad bugs for Amoebas, will not attack and display false strength. 1 Amoebas is = 1.7k military power, distorting the game.

isaacyientan sorry you're having trouble building the starbase building, it should function like the titan yards if you have our 1st tech. i couldn't replicate not being able to build it. can you give a bit more info about how your game is set up so i can try to find and fix the bug :)
