Is this abandoned?

Seems to not be working.

I do the changes I want in the .lua file, but absolutely nothings happends in game.

Am I supposed to do more changes to the file than just the unit numbers?

It is mentioned its not for multiplayer and i added 1 samurai unit at start works fine, incase you wonder i have all DLC and also few mods like Real AI, Deity++,cheat map editor and few more no crashes or anything.

True, but constantly changing my modlist, I wasn’t using presets.
Well, since I upgraded my game to the full version, I realized that most of the issues I had were caused by the semi-basic-version I was playing previously. And also, I am and was using a lot of mods so incompatibilities cannot be ruled out either.

@Obb If you're loading a Preset Game (One that you created with all your settings) and you made it before you installed this mod, then starting a game using that preset will not enable the mod. Create a new Preset with the mod enabled.

I don’t understand what happens, I made many, many tries and restart since installed this mod, with several changes in the modpack and/or new game settings : The effectiveness of the mod seems totally random ! Maybe a weird collide with another mod or something…

Sometimes it will work as expected, most of the time it doesn’t spawn all the units. And said units and their number are random too. Also, I only saw stacked units a few times, all the other times, if only some spawn, the other ones simply don’t.

Is there a log file I could read to see if I find any error message, maybe ?

Also, if I remember correctly, starting a new game from a preconfigured setup will not catch the newly enabled mod, you have to load and edit the preset or start a new game from scratch. (not sure about the former).

sounds like what im looking for but after install, no extra units. went to folder like said and edited LAU file. still no units on new game.

Can I edit this line in the code, use specific coordinates instead of "adjacentPlot" functions, to place certain units where I want them after I download it?

Is there a way to place the extra units at a specific coordinates on the map? I know older versions of these kinds of mods used to be able to do that, but I don't know if it's possible now...

Works for me - but I did have to redo saved starting configs (for advanced starts) - those get locked in to whatever mods you have active when you create them.

Haven't tried the mod yet, just read through the description, but it looks good.

Just fyi, if you start with too many units and can't move them all you can force the game to end turn by pressing Shift+Enter. This will end the turn regardless of any requirements.

Is there any way to make the units spawn more in a circle around your initial Settler? Right now it just spawns everything in a straight line in one direction. The mod is still great and works just fine, it would just feel a lot less janky having your extra units spawn in the 6 adjacent tiles surrounding the Settler first.

cant seem to get the mod to work,
ive used it unedited, ive edited the settings, ive made sure the mod was activated but i cant seem to get it to work,
i still start with the default 1 settler and 1 warrior :<

The mod is great, thank you for putting in the work!

Unfortunately the mod stopped working a while ago for me. I assumed it was due to installing/using a bunch of other mods and needing to change the load order. Today I tried deactivating every mod but this, and it still won't work. Unsubscribing and resubscribing didn't seem to make a difference, even after closing and restarting the game. I'm not sure what other user based action may cause the problem.

@cobber51, you really are recommending a different mod in the comments? That's just wrong.

PLUS that mod you are recommending, Radiant New Game Presets haven't been updated since 4/28/2019. And the creator of that mod, legit states he will never update it.

Try Radiant New Game Presets, it works for me (playing as America, not Australia though) without causing any problems, and it is customisable in terms of the starting units that can be spawned when you start a new game.

Hi this worked great UNTIL my game started to crash IT IS NOT YOUR MOD, I did get rid of what was doing it and the report said the files of game may be corrupted so I did a verify I had to readjust all the parameters I wanted because of that BUT now it doesn't work at all I am guessing the game has changed from what you have as either 1.2 or 2.0 version how do I check what the new version is? please I really like having a couple of cities to start off with ;) and thanks for making the mod.

I added all Units from Expansions, DLC and even Steel and Thunder Unique Mod to the list.

You can add Soothslayer to the list to not to use too. Now I am not sure it that is based on the game mode being on or not. I tried it while it was off.

The other solution (that I cannot guarantee will work with this particular mod) is to either change the number of units that can stack on a tile yourself, or use a mod that increases the units per tile (stack) limit...

Better to user mods that adds extra moves for units, so that spawned units won't delete themselves when they unable to move to an empty grid :steammocking:

ThePope: Start a game, then click the start menu and click Restart. I think it's when you finish your first turn or Settle your first city that the news will pop up.

I don't think you have to worry about not being able to end turns if units are stacked? you should be able to hit Shift + enter to get around it.

I can get it to work except for civ specific units. his example for the cree works but how would one get say a samurai, berserker, or Varu?
