I no longer have the individual files to maintain external downloads, sorry. You can try third party sites like steamworkshop download to still get the files.
GaussTheWizard 26 maj, 2023 @ 10:33
The Dropbox links on civfanatics and otherwise are down. Having Steam issues that prevent the game from installing this from WS properly.

hi im new at civillization how this mod works?
:steamhappy:
Facialmatters 28 nov, 2016 @ 1:07
Hey there, would you happen to have any older versions of the mod still sitting around? I want to pick up again a game I started years ago...
Tomatekh  [skapare] 3 apr, 2016 @ 10:59
CBP changes too many files for me to keep track. You'd have to ask Gazebo or someone else involved with CBP as the conflict would be on their end.
HurriedHond 3 apr, 2016 @ 9:19
Any idea what might be causing that?
HurriedHond 3 apr, 2016 @ 7:56
It seems that it still says that there are only 6 religions left to be founded at the start :/
Tomatekh  [skapare] 3 apr, 2016 @ 7:51
No idea, sorry. I don't edit my mods for CBP. Offhand, there shouldn't be anything that conflicts since this mod only adds some text and religion icons, but CBP changes so many files I can't say for certain.
HurriedHond 3 apr, 2016 @ 7:46
Is this compatible with the Community Balance Pack?
Dr. Oz The Great And Powerful 19 feb, 2016 @ 11:55
That is so dumb. Mods that don't affect gameplay mechanics such as this should get a pass. Was mod cheating really that bad?
DrakenX999 18 feb, 2016 @ 20:25
All mods disable achievements. It doesn't matter how you download them. The only way to not affect achievements is to edit the base game files directly.
Dr. Oz The Great And Powerful 18 feb, 2016 @ 17:44
If I do direct download can I avoid this? Also, is there a good mod manager for this game that most people use?
Dr. Oz The Great And Powerful 18 feb, 2016 @ 14:53
That's absurd, but thank you.
Tomatekh  [skapare] 18 feb, 2016 @ 12:09
Any mod that you activate through the mods menu will prevent steam achievements.
Dr. Oz The Great And Powerful 18 feb, 2016 @ 11:06
Does you know if this or any other of your mods blocks steam achievements? It seems like it shouldn't since it doesn't really change game mechanics but I'd like to know.
[Dtrain] Spillbreak 28 okt, 2015 @ 14:35
Thanks for the quick reply! I'll try that.
Tomatekh  [skapare] 28 okt, 2015 @ 13:20
The Steam Workshop has a bug where it sometimes fails to properly install/update a mod which prevents it from showing up on your list. Usually if you unsubscribe, delete any remnants of the mod from your mod folder, then resubscribe in game the Workshop will click and properly download it.

Otherwise, if the Workshop refuses to work, you can manually download and install the mod. Just take the file from the "direct download" link at the bottom of the description and put it in your mods folder ~/documents/my games/civ v/mods.
[Dtrain] Spillbreak 28 okt, 2015 @ 13:17
This mod appears to have disappeared from my mods list which is sad as i really like it! Any ideas whats happened?

Maintenance update. Fixed some compatibility issues and update mod civ religious preferences.

If you need the previous version (41) to continue a save, a download link is at the bottom of the description.
Tomatekh  [skapare] 29 okt, 2014 @ 23:26
Hi, yeah, sorry. I had incorporated your translation into an earlier version, but checking the files, I realize I accidentally left it out when I re-wrote the mod files into SQL a month or so ago.

I still have the files. I will do an update to re-add the translation as soon as I can. Thanks for pointing it out.
Tillito 27 okt, 2014 @ 15:43
I have created a little German translation. Everything except the pedia. What can I do with the xml file to have it worked into the mod?
Tomatekh  [skapare] 18 okt, 2014 @ 11:09
@Potato

Slavic Paganism is already availble in the larger versions of this mod (Historical Religions and Historical Religions Complete, both linked in the first paragraph of the description). This version is specifically only meant to include religions which the official civs would prefer and choose in game.
Gefilte Fish 18 okt, 2014 @ 8:18
Thank you so much for this mod! It would mean the world to me if you added Ancient Slavic Paganism to the list of historical religions. :ambition: :Morale:
IonelSLK 15 okt, 2014 @ 4:47
Let me try this on
Tomatekh  [skapare] 9 okt, 2014 @ 20:42
I'm glad that it worked out. It's actually very common for mod updates to have problems with older saves as they often add/remove something from the file system which would not be in the current game. Because of this, I do always note in the mod description not to update untill you are ready to start a new game. However, I also always include a download link for the previous version at the bottom of the description in case you need it to continue an older save.
[TEMPLAR] *** Rommel *** 7 okt, 2014 @ 17:23
So i started a new game and i have No problems! im in round 223 there and no signs of crashes. I think it bugged just with older save games
[TEMPLAR] *** Rommel *** 7 okt, 2014 @ 11:01
and excuse me for this im modder but it would be nice if this would work
i can also just give you the error by ERROR LOADING FONT TEXTURE
so maybe it would help you
[TEMPLAR] *** Rommel *** 7 okt, 2014 @ 10:50
it seems like icons are getting lost after a short time of game
[TEMPLAR] *** Rommel *** 7 okt, 2014 @ 10:48
it also cannot be that you have to start a new game (!) only of an update by a mod. pls work on this i have only problems with religions icons, religions buildings, religions units , holy shrines and EVERYTHING about religion. Texture crashes everywhere
[TEMPLAR] *** Rommel *** 7 okt, 2014 @ 10:46
hi

i have those modpacks

1) The Republic of Carthage
2) Ethnic Units
3) The Kingdom of Belgium
4) Reforestation
5) The Confederation of Switzerland
6) R.E.D Modpack

all downloadet by steam and ingame. there have been no problems before.
the problems became during a game (not a new game) since last update of this religion
mod. I have also reinstalled and downloadet all (!) of this mods after crashes by historical religions. i cant understand this crashes cause before last update everything was very fine working

i dont know how it is because of a new game but it really sucks it was a game about 1100 rounds and only the update of this mod could have started this problems.

There are problems with religious icons and units.
Tomatekh  [skapare] 6 okt, 2014 @ 22:56
@General armii Suworov

I can't seem to replicate the error on my end.

- Did you update in the middle of a saved game or is this with new games?
- Are you using any other mods which might conflict with this mod or add new font icons?
- It's also possible that the steam download is corrupt. Can you try manually downloading and installing the mod and see if the error persists? ("Direct Download" link at the bottom of the description. Place that downloaded file in your mods folder ~/documents/my games/civ v/mods)
[TEMPLAR] *** Rommel *** 6 okt, 2014 @ 18:29
ERROR LOADING FONT TEXTURE
[TEMPLAR] *** Rommel *** 6 okt, 2014 @ 18:21
Hello!
I have big texture problems since Last Update of this Mod! Ingame Icons of religions, Wonders, Units (and many others) are crashing after a few rounds. Game crashes completly about 30 Min game time with gameerror "failed texture loading". Also the religion icons can not be loaded before game crashes. It was a very nice Mod BEFORE this problems has been released so i hope you will fight this problems very soon.
Tomatekh  [skapare] 25 sep, 2014 @ 12:22
I don't have the ability to translate the mod on my own, but will gladly add any translations provided.

With that said, a lot of the new religions aren't using english names (mostly native terms) so they might be difficult to translate.
Strategikon 22 sep, 2014 @ 10:16
Hi, I've got yo say its a very nice mod! Its there a way to translate the names into spanish? Thanks in advance

-Minor hotfix to correct a typo accidentally making England prefer Hellenism
Tomatekh  [skapare] 10 sep, 2014 @ 15:50
Actually, found the problem, a small typo in the file. Thanks for the heads up.
Tomatekh  [skapare] 10 sep, 2014 @ 15:48
That's odd. I re-did all the preference files with the last update. I'll look into it. Were there any other mods active that might have caused a conflict?
Hokath 8 sep, 2014 @ 7:30
Just a heads up:
England picked Hellenism in my game today even though Protestantism was available.
Tomatekh  [skapare] 1 sep, 2014 @ 8:12
Update: No gameplay changes. Mod converted to SQL to ensure better compatability across all my Historical Religions mods. If you need the previous version to continue a save, a download link is at the bottom of the description.

@rathernoobish
Yes

@Frederickicusifical
It's possible, but I though the word pagan itself in the religious meaning wasn't invented till the middle ages. Before that it was derived from something akin to peasent/civilian and wasn't a religious word.

The Greco-Roman pack is going to have 5 religions. I'm not attempting to include every diety, cult, or philosophical school as otherwise it would be bigger than the main mod. So it will have traditional Greek, traditional Latin, Imperial Roman, a representative for Mystery Cults, a representatitve for philosophical mysticism. Those aren't their names of course, just the break down. I might also include the Thracian religion thats in the main version of this mod just to round it out to 6.
rathernoobish 29 aug, 2014 @ 21:07
So Forn Sior is Norse, right?
Walker 23 aug, 2014 @ 18:13
@ Tomatekh I thought I had found somewhere that Paganism originally specified to the roman religion but when the word was revived in teh renaissance it shifted to teh meaning we use today ( e.g. polytheistic non- Abrahamic.) However, it istechnically not only referring to ancient religions. It is merely not considered politically correct.

Second of all, That "Greco-Roman Denominations Pack" sounds great. Any idea as to the specific culots/historic denominations you would include? In that respect I would be happy to offer assistance.
Tomatekh  [skapare] 22 aug, 2014 @ 16:21
@Frederickicusifical

However, by Hellenism in the mod I’m specifically referring to the religion of the Hellenistic period (300 BC to AD 300) which already includes the Alexandrine expansion and the Roman Empire, and traditional practice in the area had already syncretized to the point (in terms of how Civ V specifically generalizes these things) it doesn’t make sense to include them as separate religions for this mod.

I am, however, working on a Greco-Roman denomination pack that adds multiple options including stuff like mystery cults and traditional roman belief.
Tomatekh  [skapare] 22 aug, 2014 @ 16:21
@Frederickicusifical

“Paganism” is not Roman religion, it’s just a general catch-all term for non-Abrahamic polytheistic religions in antiquity.

It also depends on what you mean by Roman religion. Technically, Roman religion was a combination of native Latin, Etruscan, and Greek belief in the early period. Greek religion was already influencing the Italian peninsula and was being syncretized into Etruscan and Roman belief as early as 750 BC, so in a sense Greek beliefs have always been a part of the Roman Kingdom to Republic to Empire. Later on Roman religion was highly focused on the Imperial Cult and Orientalism, importing mystery religions from the East and areas conquered by the Empire.
Tomatekh  [skapare] 22 aug, 2014 @ 16:19
@Kommissar

Thanks for the extra info. I’ll look into it more.
Walker 22 aug, 2014 @ 6:00
Could you8 possibily add a new religion, called Paganism? Though thed Greek and Roman religions were greatly alike, they were not the same. Hellenism is what the Greek religiobn is, while Paganism is the Roman.
Kommissar 19 aug, 2014 @ 21:35
I should have been more clear in my original post that I was only using these two mods when trying to specifically use custom civlizations. The combination of BiouBiou's mod with Historical Religions while using a custom or modified civ is when this problem occurs. I could get bonus beleifs to show up with custom civs, and several other mods including the Strange Religions mods that also adds new religion. But when specifically using this mod with bonus belief and any custom civ, I could not get all three to work. For reference I was trying to get the mods to work together with some of JFD custom civs like, Prussia, Ukraine, Soviet union, and etc.
