There's a lot more to Leaders of Legend than just this, but Alarielle's magic tree, trait, and forest spirit issues were touched on in the WH3 version of Leaders of Legend here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2880244265

thats awesome news! thanks for the update Cryswar
Cryswar  [author] Oct 4, 2022 @ 11:43pm
*most* of this mod made it into LoL tonight, the release is still a ways out but I wanted to confirm that part!
idiotintraining Sep 27, 2022 @ 8:00am
@Kazraan is that something you are actively working on? i have barely played wh3 waiting for this mod :p
Kazraan Aug 24, 2022 @ 6:10am
Dang, that is a shame Cryswar. Hopefully I can figure out how to port it myself then lol
Cryswar  [author] Aug 19, 2022 @ 12:19am
I'm not sure if I will port this to TWW3. Most likely I will wrap parts of it into Leaders of Legend and drop other parts.
TebiCake Aug 18, 2021 @ 9:45pm
So.... It's that time again when CA throws out a patch that renders all but recent mods obsolete xd
Cryswar  [author] Jul 15, 2021 @ 4:38pm
Building and unit connections are handled in a phenomenally stupid and convoluted way. You have to replace building chains entirely to do that effectively, and this mod was intended to have a bare minimum of incompatible changes.

I hope TWW3 has a less garbage system behind the scenes.
Flipse Jul 14, 2021 @ 5:32pm
Wish you could build Treemen/Treekin from Alarielle's special Sisters of Avelorn structure; and Dryads from the tier 1 barracks thingy :p
Gotta_Go_Fast Mar 18, 2021 @ 5:51pm
Didn't know about that mod, I gonna give it a look. Does it include these changes to Alarielle in it?
Cryswar  [author] Mar 18, 2021 @ 5:15pm
I will look into it, most likely IF I do such a thing it would be rolled into the Leaders of Legend mod, but hopefully someone else will beat me to it lol.
Gotta_Go_Fast Mar 18, 2021 @ 4:54pm
Would you be willing to do the same mod for Rakarth. It's sad that all non Dark Elf monsters on his roster get no love at all from his skills.
Cryswar  [author] Jan 26, 2021 @ 10:20am
No, but that should be very easy to edit on your end, just open the packfile in RPFM, open "character_skill_nodes_tables", and delete the first row entirely.
Comrade Petrov Jan 26, 2021 @ 8:51am
Nice mod, thanks for all your work in creating it!.

You dont happen to have any version of it where she keeps tempest and dont get hand of glory?.

Something completely different Dec 29, 2020 @ 1:56am
Agreed!
Cryswar  [author] Dec 27, 2020 @ 12:29pm
Thank you :)
Deornwulf Dec 27, 2020 @ 8:51am
Awesome work on all of your mods! They make the game fun and more interesting.
linkfire12 Dec 18, 2020 @ 12:40am
Well, aren't the redline/tech skills faction wide? I'm not sure whether Alarielle specific skill boosts would be overkill or not balance wise. I may be dumb and ChaosRobie already considered/integrated redline/tech, but as a layman nothing is shown in the patchnotes/page/comments.

I suppose the other thing is making sure the Treemen Lord boosts units correctly in line with this mod, and whether any techs or other buffs should be applied to put them in line with their Wood Elf counterparts.

I don't want to make any brash assumptions.
Cryswar  [author] Dec 18, 2020 @ 12:22am
Name changes are just .loc files, should be no issues there. Now for clarity, are you asking me to mess with the Blackbriar units to benefit from Alarielle's boosts?
linkfire12 Dec 18, 2020 @ 12:11am
Oh right, and the "THX" submod changes the names of the Blackbriar units, so that might change the code a bit?
linkfire12 Dec 18, 2020 @ 12:10am
Blackbriar Topiary adds Avelorn variants of the new units, Arboreal Sunbringers doesn't at this time, but they recently made Drycha variants, so that might change depending on the modders preferences. Treemen Lord for Alarielle is self explanatory :P
From a cursory search of the workshop, these are the only up to date tree mods I've found beyond some small stat buff mods, but I might be missing something.
Cryswar  [author] Dec 18, 2020 @ 12:07am
Oh, do they add units to Avelorn as well or just the Wood Elves?
linkfire12 Dec 18, 2020 @ 12:05am
Basically make your changes to the redline buffs, skills, and tech compatible with the new units introduced in those mods, allowing a complete tree spirit playthrough as Avelorn. Of course this is all done by kind modders, so no demands or anything, it just would be cool in my personal opinion. The mod is already fantastic as is.
Cryswar  [author] Dec 18, 2020 @ 12:00am
Hmm, what do you mean by compatibility? I'm not really familiar with those mods, but mine SHOULDN'T break them, at least in theory lol.
linkfire12 Dec 17, 2020 @ 9:48pm
Thank you so much for this, having more gameplay variety and options as Avelorn is great fun. I have asked this on the other pages, but is there any way to create compatibility for "Treemen Lord for Alarielle", Blackbriar Topiary (THX), and Arboreal Sunbringers? Having all the best treeman mods compatible with each-other would be amazing. No obligation or demands towards any of the modders of course, it's all really awesome already. Thank you!

Mod updated for latest DLC.
A Reindeer Nov 25, 2020 @ 4:44pm
@kazraan, your new units sound interesting, did you or could you publish them as a mod maybe for the rest of us?
Cryswar  [author] Jul 27, 2020 @ 10:23am
Happy to help :)
Kazraan Jul 27, 2020 @ 9:28am
@Cryswar - so yeah, that worked perfectly. Thank you, as you are indeed the cream of the crop. I really appreciate you going out of your way to make this work for me.
Cryswar  [author] Jul 24, 2020 @ 9:57pm
If the units already exist, I think the easiest way to do it is;

-add units to the new military group
-add the animations the units use (including mounts!!) to the new military group
-add entries to building_units_allowed with unique IDs for each level of each building you want them to be recruitable from

Keep in mind they will be available to EVERY faction of that military group that can make that building, so you'd probably want to limit it to only Avelorn special buildings same as Alarielle's existing tree units
Kazraan Jul 24, 2020 @ 9:12pm
@Cryswar - Thanks! I will definitely check out those guides. I really want to get a hawkrider unit for Avelorn, and a shielded Spear Wardancer unit. I have a mod with those units, just gotta make them HE.

Thanks for all the communication as well! You have truely gone above and beyond!
Cryswar  [author] Jul 24, 2020 @ 8:17pm
Depending on how much of cloning vs just making available to another faction you do, it can be fairly easy or outright trivial, I have a guide that covers unit creation/cloning/enabling in the steam guides section if you want to learn!

Yeah, for most mods I tend to use very high node tiers for perfect compatibility but this one I wanted the skill to appear next to existing ones. If I was gonna go back in time I'd probably do a high-tier here too.

Anyways, glad you're enjoying!
Kazraan Jul 24, 2020 @ 7:28pm
Figured it out. In Character_skill_nodes_table, had to change eagle Teir to 20, as the skill dump was also 15, which is default for this mod.

I bring this up incase anyone else has run into this.

Again, thanks for this awesome mod @Cryswar ! I haven't even figured out how to clone a unit for another faction, so this mod has been a godsend!
Cryswar  [author] Jul 24, 2020 @ 5:03pm
Hmm, good to know.
Kazraan Jul 24, 2020 @ 4:49pm
Weird. Seems to have resolved itself.

I think the placement of the eagle mount conflicts with the More Skill Points mod I use, as the skill point dump is now gone, but that is a minor issue for the mount tradeoff.
Kazraan Jul 23, 2020 @ 11:13am
Hello again @Cryswar!

The handmaidens in game are not getting access to the Great Eagle Mount. I do not have any other mods that change handmaidens, so was curious if anyone else is having this issue
Kazraan Jul 20, 2020 @ 7:33pm
@Cryswar awesome! Will try that later!
Cryswar  [author] Jul 14, 2020 @ 9:43am
Magic changes are very easy to remove. Open the packfile in RPFM, open character_skill_nodes_tables, and delete the first three rows, they have alarielle_magic in their key. Don't delete the rest of the table or her new skills will disappear.
Kazraan Jul 14, 2020 @ 9:16am
@Cryswar - Thank you for this awesome mod! This make playing Avelorn so much more fun, as you can get a bit more RPGish with useful forest spirit units now.

@Leugimimi - While this is great, the mixed lores spellcasting does have a leg up. If you find a way to remove the magic changes, please let me know, as I would love to use both of the mods together.
Cryswar  [author] Jul 13, 2020 @ 7:01pm
Feel free, I won't be offended! Somewhat ironically, I sorta agree with you, I'm not super happy with the vanilla edits here. I'm not sure if I'll edit this mod (doing so would screw over anyone in an active campaign using it), but it is something I will be keeping in mind if/when I touch on more lords in the future in a combi-mod and will not edit her magic tree there.
Miguel V-DF Jul 13, 2020 @ 6:43pm
A pity this mod changes the magic tree of Alarielle, I prefer the Mixed Lores version of the rework. I might try to thinker with the mod myself to remove only the magic skills rework here.
Cryswar  [author] May 30, 2020 @ 6:05pm
For clarity, their text was removed from the redline skills for futureproofing, They should still be getting redline bonuses, and the custom effects on her unique skills should still have text like in the screenshots.
Jabel May 30, 2020 @ 5:24pm
I just double checked with only this mod installed.
Forest units aren't listed in tooltips anywhere.
The rest of the mod seems to be working.
Cryswar  [author] May 30, 2020 @ 2:36pm
Like, none at all?
Jabel May 30, 2020 @ 2:19pm
I'm also not seeing any tooltips.
Cryswar  [author] May 29, 2020 @ 4:18pm
<3 both of ya
Tham0n May 29, 2020 @ 3:18pm
thank you for updating the mod!

Thank you very much for looking into that!
