Thanks! I'm not sure why steam wasn't letting me comment here for a while, but I did end up posting it here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2184482159

Thanks again for letting me use your code.

Sure thing man, go for it! And thanks for asking first.

Hey Jbaker, I made a PFD that uses three 1x1 displays oriented horizontally. The center display uses your script for the attitude indicator, but the rest of the system is an entirely unique code. Is it alright if I post this as my own creation (crediting you for the script)? I understand you stated that that was alright in your description, but I just wanted to ensure that this fit your criteria as being "modified". Please advise if you do not want me to post it. Thanks!

Hi Jbaker, thank you for uploading this and labeling the Lua script! I'm learning the scripting part and I am trying to make my own PFD. I am using this as an example and it helps a lot!

Hey Barker,

Fair enough. Thanks for hearing me out. I wish the screens had higher resolution :-D Some other world maybe. But keep up the good work. I wish i had any idea of what i was doing with LUA.

No, even if I removed the VSI the altimeter would be so large it would cover a large portion of the artificial horizon. It works just fine on anything larger than a 2x2 screen, but I would have to sacrifice way too much altitude precision or range to make it fit for it to be worth it on a 2x2. I would have loved to have put the HSI on there too, and I spent quite a bit of time trying to find a way to make it all fit, but sacrifices had to be made somewhere.
Berntsen Apr 19, 2020 @ 11:48pm
Hey Baker,

I understand the limitations. It is not possible to remove the VSI intirely to make room for the altimeter? Since the VSI is not a part of the basic T of instruments that are "important" for flying the aircraft. As nice as a VSI is, i would much prefer to have the HSI present on the PFD.

Regardless, thank you for hearing me out. I sadly do not posses the cababilities to make anything similar. And i love your work with it!

Thanks!

Unfortunately because of the size of the altimeter it would block most of the artificial horizon if i made it into a rolling tape on 2x2 screens. I also cant put it at the top to make room for an HSI on the bottom because it would interfere with the turn coordinator. The best I could suggest in your situation is to use my nav display on a 1x1 screen next to the PFD so it doesnt take up too much extra space.
Berntsen Apr 19, 2020 @ 10:55pm
Hey Baker,

Thanks for the interest. So i have been working with the PFD in size 2x2 on a project to update a cockpit. But the size of the cockpit limits us to the use of that size. I'm aware of the lack of pixel realestate on that screen. But is it possible for you to add a HSI in the bottom or top of the screen And maybe to the expense of the VSI have the Altimeter like the Airspeed indication? So that you have all the components of a basic T on one screen.

Thanks!
jbaker96  [author] Apr 19, 2020 @ 2:23pm
Sure, what did you have in mind?
Berntsen Apr 19, 2020 @ 8:53am
Hey Baker,

Do you take requests/suggestions for the PFD display?
jbaker96  [author] Mar 9, 2020 @ 10:39pm
No, that is just a static label to display the centerpoint of the vertical speed bar. I would have liked to have labelled other points, but there just wasn't enough space on a 2x2. Each tick mark represents 500 ft/min though.

Should the number next to the VS bar show the VS? I see the pink bar matching my descent/climb but the number remains 0. The Speed and Alt works fine.
Sweaty Grogan Feb 29, 2020 @ 1:46pm
That did the trick, thank you! Great work :)
jbaker96  [author] Feb 28, 2020 @ 6:48pm
It's not actually uploaded as a microcontroller since it relies on multiple components being placed correctly in order to work. It's uploaded as a vehicle so you'll have to use the selection tool to load it in and then cut and paste it where you need it to go.
Sweaty Grogan Feb 28, 2020 @ 5:54pm
Might be a silly question, but I can't seem to find the microcontroller needed to get this to work? I've definitely subscribed on workshop. Cheers!

Unfortunately no, since there is no possible way at the moment to rotate text on screens. As a sort of workaround, you might be able to hide the PFD somewhere and use an upside down camera to relay the video to the HUD, although I'm not sure about the quality.
Bandit0019 Sep 7, 2019 @ 8:20pm
Is there any way I can invert the screen. I have a HUD that is upside down for aesthetic reasons and i wanted to know if there is any thing logiv wise i can do to flip it upside down
theSWATPL Aug 9, 2019 @ 10:23am
Nvm, seems like I'm too dumb to read comments on code properly xD
theSWATPL Aug 9, 2019 @ 10:17am
Hey jbaker, is there a chance you would be able to point me to a piece of code that draws the "background"? I'm trying to use this one on a HUD and these colours make it much harder to see thru.
Catmandoe1 Aug 7, 2019 @ 2:47pm
i not using ours because i want to make my own, but cool anyway!:steamhappy:
jbaker96  [author] Jun 13, 2019 @ 6:47pm
Not sure how useful it would be to have the speed roll over past 999 knots, but I'll keep that in mind for a customization option whenever I get around to adding more features, and I would have loved to add a heading display too, but the 2x2 screen is just a bit too small to fit all that information.
kutyax Jun 13, 2019 @ 5:51pm
awesome stuff, it was still easy to install to my plane!
i noticed 2 things, since the speed display have only 3 digits, it would be cool if it would roll over above 999, and a hdg display would be very helpful on this screen.
like it very much!
papa willie Jun 10, 2019 @ 8:08am
Sounds cool!
jbaker96  [author] Jun 9, 2019 @ 11:30pm
That will all be a part of my autopilot system that I will be reworking with LUA. I'm not sure I would be able to fit a full flight director on the PFD, but full radio navigation systems and instruments are in my plans.
papa willie Jun 9, 2019 @ 7:33pm
Oh, and 1 last request. (I'm not sure how so...) Could you add Flight Director and ILS Glideslope and Localizer indicators? Please, as I would like those systems in my airliner.
jbaker96  [author] Jun 7, 2019 @ 11:08pm
It shouldn't be too much longer, all I have left to do is the fuel display page which I've already started working on, and the landing gear position page which should be pretty easy.
papa willie Jun 7, 2019 @ 2:15pm
Waiting for it to build my airliner.
papa willie Jun 7, 2019 @ 2:15pm
Do you have a precise day idea on that MFD?
MullerCorp Jun 4, 2019 @ 12:02pm
Very exited for a MFD!!! :)
papa willie May 30, 2019 @ 6:11am
Cool.
jbaker96  [author] May 29, 2019 @ 9:28pm
Because of the complexity, the MFD is taking quite a bit more time than the PFD and nav display, so it may be the end of next week before I can post that one. A series of 1x1 displays will be next after that to make up a full Mode Control Panel, and then once I can update and complete the whole autopilot system to go with the MCP, I'll make an FMC for GPS navigation and waypoints and stuff.
papa willie May 29, 2019 @ 4:53pm
Any idea when the MFD/MCP/FMS would come out? I'm actually really hyped.
papa willie May 29, 2019 @ 3:53pm
I could see how integration would be a challenge.
papa willie May 29, 2019 @ 3:52pm
Cool! Can't wait.
jbaker96  [author] May 28, 2019 @ 9:52pm
I'm actually currently working on an MFD right now, and I'm planning on an FMC as well as the full Mode Control Panel for my autopilot system as well. As far as integrating everything, that may be a challenge due to the number of logic inputs that may be required on the microcontroller, but I may still put it all together in one nice not-so-little package and upload that eventually.
papa willie May 28, 2019 @ 6:16pm
Will there be an MFD/EICAS/FMS released at any point? I'd really like to see those created. And please, make your avionics an integrated system between displays.
jbaker96  [author] May 26, 2019 @ 10:12am
Can you send me a screenshot of the issue in discord?
Profs_72 May 26, 2019 @ 9:40am
ah, okay. All he logic is connected. The magenta line stays still at about 10 pixels up (2x2) and doesn't move at all. The Altitude in the bottem right stays at 20.
jbaker96  [author] May 24, 2019 @ 1:22pm
If you're using the standalone version, verify that all the logic is connected. Also, you shouldn't see an actual number for vertical speed - its the moving magenta bar on the right side of the display. The only actual number displays are the airspeed on the left and the altitude on the bottom right of the 2x2 screen or the number tape on the right of the larger displays.
Profs_72 May 24, 2019 @ 10:55am
Got a small issue, the altitude continuously shows 0 and the vertical speed shows 20.
jbaker96  [author] May 22, 2019 @ 10:33pm
It can, but it wont be transparent. I may make a version of this for HUDs later.
Hotspot May 22, 2019 @ 8:48pm
Can a HUD be used instead of a monitor screen?
MonkeyKing73 May 22, 2019 @ 6:29am
wow! stormworks is about get get much love from lua! wow!
Tesla May 21, 2019 @ 6:56am
Thank you for this. I'll credit you in the description of all creations which have this setup.
