just a suggestion this time. We have a Night Owl trait, a lit workplace gives a working speed bonus of 15% and dupes won't sleep in lit places - so why not add darkness related traits? (I think it's called nictophil and nictophob?) So dupes with it will get stressed if in darkness for to long and can only sleep with light? (unlike regular ones) and ones who like darkness will get those 15% work speed in unlit places but -30% in lit places?

I would like the possibility to create a complete new race of duplicants that can breath a configurable element e.g. Chlorine, Water (without the wet debuffs), hydrogen etc ...

do you mean something like
ice - dupe doesn't catch hypothermia
fire - dupe doesn't catch hyperthermia
air - opposite of "mouthbreather" trait
earth - mining range +1 tile
light - dupe's stress gets higher if in darkness
dark - dupe is comfortable in darkness (something related to decor maybe?)
