From a historical standpoint, 2000 B.C. seems a bit too early for me to play in Greece at the moment. Troy seems interesting. But I really look forward to this mod in its later stage of development. Mesopotamia especially is gonna be perfect for this start date. The scope of this map is awesome and I love the minimalism of starting off with just a city and some settlements on this big map and slowly creating an empire. I can't wait for the Mesopotamian cities especially, the Hittites in Anatolia, Jews in the Levant and Egypt. This could be one of the greatest mods for this game. I think I will play this a lot in the future.

Loup, you got off to an amazing start - are you satisfied where the mod is now, with the game receiving some pretty significant patches since its release and due for more? I think it's one of my favorite, it makes starting off as Rome or one of the Etruscan City-States quite interesting, something the core game really needed - thank you so much for that.

Still nothing after 2 months? :(

When should a Pompey update be ready?
sikk potato Jun 28, 2019 @ 7:23am
@Loup, if you want some grunt assistance handling tedious entries and converting countries/heritages/characters to 1.1, I'd be happy to help. To me, Imperator isn't the same without the layout of nations and sub-tribals in your work.
sikk potato Jun 26, 2019 @ 10:11am
I needs them tribes broken up and scattered the way you do. Attacking a monolithic Dacia in 300 BC is horrifying as Thracia. The imperial romans couldn't hold that land, but vanilla Dacia almost has more pops than me!
Loup  [author] Jun 24, 2019 @ 12:38am
@jojo.fiffi Yes, but not fora beta patch.
jojo.fiffi Jun 22, 2019 @ 5:01am
Are you going to update it so it's going to be compatible with Pompey patch?
Loup  [author] Jun 20, 2019 @ 11:51pm
@Artamere Yes the mod is still being updated.
Loup  [author] Jun 20, 2019 @ 11:51pm
@Leviathonlx How exactly do leader changes prevent expansion? With regards to breaking defensive pacts that is due to AI modding being limited, but the pat breaking is still more accurate than one unified country.
@omega20056 We are working on improving the map.
@Erkli Pasha Can't give any dates but we are working on it.
@omega20056 We disagree with Barbaricum and Project Overhaul on their map changes. With regards to Gladio, they do not modify the map, but I don't think their author has the same philosophy.
sikk potato Jun 20, 2019 @ 6:53pm
Artamere babe I have been home for like an hour. There's a fair amount of changes I haven't wrapped my head around. I don't think we'll see an update before sunday morning.
House of Krey Jun 20, 2019 @ 1:00pm
Is this mod still being updated?
Basileus Basileon May 17, 2019 @ 11:42am
I think you should take a look at the Barbaricum, Project Overhaul, and Gladio mods. This game needs a comprehensive overhaul mod that hits all areas, and at present it's impossible to get that because of file conflicts between various mods.
sikk potato May 14, 2019 @ 10:31am
Can someone write how to slow down the senate appointment? I've dug around in the mod files and I won't be starting any games as Rome until I don't have to deal with it so frequently.
Hexatorium May 13, 2019 @ 1:08pm
The team behind my favourite CK 2 mod is making mods for this game? Hell yes
TrJacobin May 9, 2019 @ 7:48am
Anything new coming soon? :)
Leviathonlx May 9, 2019 @ 12:28am
@Azikiel The constant senate appointments are a perfect example of going for historical 'accuracy' at the expense of gameplay. Thankfully it's a pretty easy thing to edit out of the mod. It also completely imbalances the game since a leader being elected every single year makes it near impossible for the player Rome/Carthage to expand and more or less kills the AI. The little new vassals for Rome/Carthage also break things like resources (so Rome can't build ships to deal with the pirates that show up right outside Rome within a month) and a lot of the country break ups for things like the Samnites and Etruscans that are turned into defensive pacts break within a week of game start followed by them killing each other rendering the historical accuracy moot making the larger country a obvious better option.
Tenerife_Boy May 7, 2019 @ 8:29am
Is this saved game compatible?
Thanks!
Basileus Basileon May 5, 2019 @ 11:04am
You might be aware of this already, but the game's river borders and regions don't make a great deal of sense. As it stands, you cannot create Rome's historical borders along the Rhine and Danube.

PI also made nearly all of Illyria Hellenic in both culture and religion for some reason.
alexmann152 May 4, 2019 @ 12:35pm
Great mod. Here is a request. The Roman army would have been made up of legions and these legions combine to create an amry. Each legion had a commander and each army had a commander. It would be great like if this was HOI4 where you can appoint legion commanders and combine these legions into an amry under an overall commander
Pureon May 4, 2019 @ 6:53am
Great mod guys! Like others here, the mod didn't work for me when I activated it in the launcher - this is because for some reason Paradox messed up the Windows Documents folder locations and the mod files were being placed in my C drive, rather than the D drive where my Documents folder lives. I copied the files over from C to D and everything works fine now. Just thought I'd share.
Tearnyr May 4, 2019 @ 1:41am
Looking forward to seeing what this mod becomes in the future, as already it improves quite a bit. Elections for the senate system needs work, but eh, first try at a rework.
Immersaholic May 3, 2019 @ 4:12pm
@Azikiel I haven't fully tried this mod out yet but perhaps the point of the crappy appointments is to make you really want to go for the dictatorship once you have a great consul?
I get ya it can be unfun though, although I'm not sure how else you would change it.
Penguin May 3, 2019 @ 11:24am
just want to say my thanks for starting this fascinating project.

I can definitely see this as a DeI for Imperator.
Azikiel May 3, 2019 @ 5:12am
The events for the senate appointments keep suggesting people with skills between 0-4 and idk if im expected to just approve these or accept the tyranny so i can get better appointments but honestly its extremely unfun to look at a council filled with 0-4 stated people knowing i cant do anything, or alternatively spamming vetos and never getting a full council. It's just not fun. I'd like to see either the events give stat bonuses to whoever you put into these positions so that way you feel like you at least get something for taking a worse person or having some sort of weights to make better choices more likely, but as is this is just extremly unfun.
I like the overtime culture conversion and religion part though, and your map changes are fun.

In fact this all sounds wrong, I really LOVE the idea of your elected council position changes, its just that AS IS it always gives a terrible council and I'd really like so see some sort of changes to that.
Antoranz May 3, 2019 @ 1:31am
Please translate to spanish that I do not see the names of the governors and the names of provinces have only 3 letters for being only in english, excellent mob thanks and continue like this
Mesteve May 2, 2019 @ 5:14pm
Great mod guys, I feel the Roman start is far more realistic than the vanilla flavor.

If I might suggest something. The Roman Terms mod has the consul election yearly and based off popularity. But the government positions are player chosen. This gives you the benefits of not as many pop ups, the ability to choose when and whom fills positions and if you wanted to, like I do, add some roleplay with elections in the background.

The constant pops are annoying, thanks for the effort all the same.
Pieguy May 1, 2019 @ 4:05pm
Awesome! can't wait to see what this mod will be once the game gets more dlc's to play with! :)
thornado86 May 1, 2019 @ 1:39pm
Hey, great work everyone.
I was wondering, is it compatible with those No Fog mods?
Also, I see you added new provinces and countries, I was wondering how much research are you able to do in order to gather historical accuracy when doing that? As I understand, there is not very much historical data on these matters?
Alexgerman123 May 1, 2019 @ 1:16pm
@Loup OMG.. Call it Election Cycle or What The Behaviour of Your Mod is that the election of all members of Senate and the army is restarting over and over again when you mod is active. I only wanted to say that you investigate the issue... I have a clean install and i have only your mod active and it fails. Sorry. But thats all what i can say. It dosent work at all on Linux. And from the past its allready known that Linux and Capital Letters haveing problems.
Loup  [author] May 1, 2019 @ 12:57pm
@chaboyyxxx Resubscribe and unsubscribe.
@Alexgerman123 Disable all other mods and do a clean reinstall, we don't add "election cycles", there are nominations when offices are vacant. We don't modify armies or traits so those are issues on your en.
@Alexgerman123 Irrelevant, no one mods events in capital letters and obviously things break of you start screaming in one place and not another.
Alexgerman123 May 1, 2019 @ 8:55am
As a former paradox modding person. i can only say, the devs should pay close attention to naming conventions and file names including Captial Letters and not. The Game Engine of Paradox aka Clausewitz make a difference between Linux and Windows...differences in using capital letters are really a problem.... That means when you name the event with low letters you should use it with low letters everywhere..... please check the code.. this can be a possbile reason for problems here.
Alexgerman123 May 1, 2019 @ 8:54am
After several tests the Mod is constantly stucking in the same election cycle... every month, the exact same person is nominated for zensus, when you agree the person is for election one month later again. If you disagree, annother persons comes into place and the cycle cycles again. I play on Linux. And the mod dosent work at all. Also the traits are not changeable. Annother thing is, when you be in the general election cycle you be not able to move a single army. All army are symply drop to 0 loyalty. Or in other words.. the mod is killing your entire game, also completly restarts from scratch dosent resolve the situation.
chaboyyxxx May 1, 2019 @ 3:12am
when i enable the mod in the launcher it doesn't load up in game does anyone know how to fix this?
Loup  [author] May 1, 2019 @ 1:58am
@Tyrrhenoi There is not really a tutorial, but check the Paradox modding sub-forum for details.
@buzzom The start date is the same as vanilla, there might be bookmark sub-mods in the future. A German translation has begun, it will be in a future version.
@✝ ☩ 𝓣𝓱𝓮𝓵𝓲𝓼𝓲𝓪 ☩ ✝ That is rather unlikely due to the scarce historical records for the area.
@Jeff We would like to, but it is a bit complicated and not really straightforward. So it will wait for post-1.1.
@Oh bah ma If that mod just modifies buildings, yes.
@PrimeDirector The issue with the cursus honorum is that it was formalised much later and not always respected. Modelling that in game is therefore a challenge. With regards to historical characters it will depend on the dynasties, if they survive or not.
PrimeDirector Apr 30, 2019 @ 4:12pm
Please find a way to institute the corsus honorum. Also, any possibility someone could mod in historical character, i.e.-Gaius Marius, at correct birth dates, and give them high attributes depending on their historical significance?
Baasman Apr 30, 2019 @ 11:52am
Does it work with buildings+ ? Great mod btw!
Jeff Apr 30, 2019 @ 11:38am
Please can you make previous office a requirement for consular election? Would add flavour to political careers
