If you have the Mimic mod, or another mod that messes with the general curio distribution, it will interfere with this and the research tables may never generate.

I don't know how to upload a mod, but it's easy enough to fix: just copy the line "hall_curios: .chance 4 .types study_table" into each of the four props files under \dungeon in the Mimic mod (or whatever other mod is overriding this)

You can also use numbers other than 4 to make it more or less likely to appear.

I got a weird bug for the Principle: Grail trinket. The "+20% Dmg Taken when not Guarded" skill says its like +180039600% Dmg taken instead, whats even more weirder is that the number isn't fixed, becoming negative in some places. The only constant is the number is huge.

Tables are found in Ruins, Warrens, Weald and Cove. Ruins seems to have the most of them though.

Combine this mod with Creeping Mist and the tables should be no problem, usually have at least 1 (and max seen 6) in a medium length dungeon.

Love the mod, the new Research tables are WAY too rare though. Ended up making a patch that makes book stacks work the same as the research table and that fixed the problem. Now i'm actually excited to find book stacks too now.

hey so, odd suggestion. What if instead of just 2 rounds. The amount and duration increases per level? with level 3 books giving a "until camp" buff. this way the tables stay usefull and the book grind stays usefull.

The crossover I didn't know I needed. If you ever feel like adding Secret Histories, I had the idea of making it a sort of "handicap yourself for loot" thing, maybe...

* +25% Scouting chance
* +25% Trap disarm chance
* +25% Stress
* On Attack: Random Target 10%
* "Treasure" Curios give an extra Trinket

Good idea for mod but tables appear very rare (one time for me for 60 weeks of playing). It's impossible to know in which missions tables appear so I must carry books every time and this take me slots from my EQ. This is annoying. I think table should appear in the same dungeon like us books

@boggensagg Do you have a mod that makes the provisions screen larger? If you don't, the combination of Blood, Aegis Scales, and the new provisions added by other mods can easily push them off the screen.

First off, great mod. But I seem to have a problem. I can find the study table just fine and I have even added the curio to the other dungeons I have installed (Sunward Isels and Pet Patrol). The upgrading works for the books (up to and including the trinket level) but for some reason the upgraded books to not appear in the provision screen (ever). So the only way I can get the trinkets is if there are 3 tables in the same dungeon (extremely rare). Is this the intended mechanic or is there something screwy going on? I am experimenting with load order but so far I have not seen any effect.

I'm curious about one point : Is there some specific regions where thos curios are supposed to be present, or are they present everywhere? Does that includ modded dungeon like Sunward or the montain?

Really excellent! The principles are sometimes very situational but always fun to play around with, and it adds something more to the experience, the sense that you're growing your understanding of the occult as you wade through all the monsters and madness.

The Heart trinket seems to have a broken effect ever since the new DLC came out. Instead of shuffling self, it shuffles the enemy that hits the hero. It makes it too good of a trinket. Hope it gets fixed (even though I don't want it to)

Ok, so I didn't have another Edge book, but I tried it with Winter and got the trinket from the fight. I'll have to find another Edge and try again. I will let you know if the problem happens again.

Pretty sure. I have Forge, Lock and Lantern that I didn't sell off and I was trying to get Edge back. After defeating the cultists, it didn't give me Edge. I'll try it again with another book and see if it happens again.

@V.V. Each trinket is limited to 1, but if you sold it the enemy should be dropping it again, are you sure you weren't trying to get one trinket you already had in inventory?

So, I wasn't aware, but I had to sell a couple of the trinkets for some extra cash (emergency reasons) and after upgrading one of the trinket books completely and defeating the enemies to get the trinket (again), it didn't give it to me. So you can only get them one time?

with Principle: Edge the +25% dmg buff lasts 1 turn, which makes it dissapear right away It needs to last 2 turns to because 1 buff turn ticks down in the same turn as the hero gets the buff

@Temera con fritas Hi, if you don't use any mod that changes the provision screen, you won't be able to see all the books! But they are still there, so I highly recommend you install a mod that will let you see them all.

How rare is the curio that allows to upgrade the books ? I keep on starting missions with books in my inventory but I still have yet to find any study table

Cultist simulator and darkest dungeon are two of my favorite games, I absolutely LOVE this mod, but despise the principle trinkets... as so far, none of them are even remotely useful. They are actually some of the worst trinkets i've ever seen... Moth is completely unusable as the benefits hardly exist and the amount of stress it provides is game breaking. Honestly, I like the negative aspects and it fits the lore of both cultist simulator and darkest dungeon but the positives aren't even close to worth it... after putting SO MUCH work into getting these trinkets, it felt like a slap in the face everytime I ended up just shrugging "meh" and throwing it on the stack of unusable trinkets that come with the base game.

@one of wish Also you can just go inside the mod folder and inside the localization folder there should be a json file you can edit with text editors like Notepad++, once you do the translation just send me the file and I will happily add it :)

The idea was to kinda replicate the grind game style of Cultist Simulator, I made a few changes in November but I still want to remake some of these trinkets since I'm not completely pleased with them.

This is a very creative good mod and I like it very much. But there still several unbalanced parts as far as i concerned. To get these trinkets, player have to take them in inventory for multiple dungeons. And make the small inventory size even smaller. In addition, some trinket like the heart one is useless. If user want to use this trinket, the team must be really flexible as shuffle is a very strong debuff. The lantern is also nearly useless as its main buff Xp is useless. Personally I recommend you rework and make their buffs and debuffs bigger.

@Jehren Sorry for the late reply, first of all, thanks for your comment!
One of the things to take in consideration about trinkets is that they still need to be balanced, no matter how hard they are to get.

But I agree that I should re-think some of the trinkets. For the books I think that's a nice suggestion, even though the buff is related to the lore it can be difficult to remember all of them, will try to improve that trhough text.

Expanding this Mod is an idea I have since I released it, but to do that I need to keep playing CS, which I haven't lol. Also I got a lot of other projects right now, but once I finish them will probably come back to this!
