@WinterTheBeau the gargantua can be killed. You can use grenades, Tripmines and satchel charges around explosive barrels in the warehouse to lead it through and damage it. The easiest way to kill it is to go to the tow launcher on the right side of the warehouse when it's distracted by other marines and damage it that way.

Thanks for this mod, it's always cool to have the different perspective during Black Mesa, some set pieces are pretty intense, other are simply a struggle for survival. Recommended.

An interesting perspective, and sort of spin-off to the spin-off (Opposing force ocf). Great connections to the original too. I got real nostalgic during those moments. If it wouldnt be for the voice acting, I would never had thought this would have been a mod if someone told me it was an offical title or something. Loved it! Well done!

MachineM, the voice acting was a lot of work in fact, not only the lines must be put in the game and as maps scripts as well, but also lip synced, captioned and choreographed, with every single line. Yeah, it was a huge work which requires tons of work, and also the voice actor who provided all the voices for the mod, is busy and no longer has the time to record more lines. Some extra lines may appear during next update, the actor recorded some post the current version, but nothing to major.

Raisinguy11, the ending is already estabilished, and won't receive any massive plot changes either. It was expanded to be more interesting for the next update, but narrative stays the same, so if someone knows the ending, they know what I'm talking about, I don't want to spoil it here.

If the mod had just a tad bit more story and narrative, it'd be even more amazing than it already is. Don't get me wrong it already has a good story and narrative, but in some spots its a bit lack luster. Maybe because of not much unique voice lines.
Things like your squad (Forrest, Hank, Jackson, Mike) And the Black Ops feel like they get introduced amazingly, but then quickly forgotten about. Quite literally, Hank Jackson and Forrest are forced to be left behind in Ch3, and then never get a significant apperence or mention again. You really only see Commander Mike a few times, and most of them are all silent! Like, what happened to Hank, Jackson and Forrest after Mills had to leave them behind??
And the Black Ops. They get introduced in Ch6 and also have very little story or significance! They're really brought in for a signicant battle or scene 3 or 4 times! They have so much potential with the story of Black Mesa and the HECU but they just feel so... underutilized!

I try to keep a low profile on Steam, but while the files were copied and I was able to try launching the game thanks to someone's video guide, I think something is disrupting the launch; can't get to the main menu before the game just crashes. Don't know if it's a problem on my end or something in the game/files, but I hope I'll be able to play this soon. I've seen a few videos, and I am absolutely excited.

That said, there is one thing I don't want added. Please don't, and I can't emphasise it enough, please do not ever change the ending to include an appearance or speech from the gman.

If the Definitive update is in development and maps are gonna be changed and tweaked in it,, I wanna ask PLEASE extend/make longer the chapter eliminate freeman.
By far in the entire campaign Eliminate Freeman and Heavy Fire were possibly the shortest chapters of all, with Heavy Fire being 3 maps long and Eliminate Freeman was literally 2 maps, and quite short. The main thing that happens in there is the Garg fight and the OAR cameo area and chasing freeman down, and getting knocked out.
Not only that, but the Chapter itself is also quite short with not a lot of narrative compared to the other chapters. Quite literally right as you start it you go to the Gargantua battle.

That happens if you get killed as a player before script plays, during current version. Try finishing this encouter with health remaining and it should be fine.

I wanted to say that the mod is incredible and quite fun, but I'm just having a problem.

When I get to the "Demilitarization" chapter, I try to go to the next part of the map, right after the tank, and the loading starts, but it never ends.

When I try to exit and return to that save, the same thing happens.

Again, the mod is incredible. My only problem is this. Is there any way I can fix it?

In the bmmilitary folder you can open videoconfig and try changing the values in there.

I tried to turn off motion blur and waterreflections and it caused a crash. What fixed my lag was to change it from 1080p to a higher value for my monitor, and also running the game in windowed mode. I didnt try keeping full screen with the resolution so that may work too.

maybe upscaling is just laggy for me in this mod.

I couldn't figure out how to install this, this weekend, i decided to watch a vid of someone else playing it through, accepting spoilers. I really enjoyed it, the story of Half Life is EPIC! Hope I can give this mod a try this week if I can figure how to do all the preparation, i'm very new to modding..

1 small thing, it was kinda jarring to hear someone use ''Debriefing'' incorrectly. Twice! in only a few seconds after the game started. It seemed deliberate, from you game designers, made me think my definition of that word was wrong, and widespread maybe, so you were setting the record straight. :) But no, its wrong, a debriefing happens AFTER an event. The CO on the osprey should say ''briefing'' Not really a problem tho, i'll have a chuckle about it every time if it stays :)

In all those cases try restarting from earlier saves. This must be some kind of rare occurance.

The mod itself is nice, its presented nicely alongside many other ideas, its def far from being a perfect mod, its NOT OF, it will never compare, but it does it job well still, it does contain bugs and its not a fully polished product, but I see what the team is trying to do, and I can say I can confidently say I enjoyed this a lot! Really decent take on the HL military side of the story.

You need to manually move the files from workshop folder to Black Mesa game folder for the mod to work. The instructions on how to do it are provided on this page description.

I’m currently trying to launch this workshop on my steam deck. I’ve subscribed to the workshop, I can see the mod in the Workshop addons in the Black Mesa initial menu.

However when I try to add launch options “-game bmmilitary”, unfortunately I see the error “setup file ‘gameinfo.txt doesn’t exist in subdirectory ‘bmmilitary’” during launch.

Should I perform some additional manual steps to get it working?

not bad, I did get stuck on one rock in the minefield, some animations were stiff, and could use a few more auto-saves before fights but I love the music, most the arenas are pretty fun even with the stiffness here and there of certain events. Still I appreciate the effort put in (custom guns and black ops were fun) and it got me to smile and I hope this gets more work on it to polish it all!

Having some issues:
1. for some reason, right at the begining of chapter 2 every time i load a save, being quick save or from menu, it loads exactly on a particular save on the green light corridor (right before the trapped burning zombie) istead the last quick save
2. the next load from this session spawns me outside the play area, seeing the whole map. Please advise
