@Jake, I already don't know. I have no idea how any of this promotes anime (it seems to do the opposite, even for otakus). I suggest we just ignore whatever their business is and let them waste time and energy, and preserve ours for actually relevant stuff.

Honestly Alex this is amazing. Make a quality mod and have it be a hidden gem found only by browsing mods for 12 min trough the ocean of trash mods, anime mods, trash anime mods, quality mods that you dont need, trash mods you need, etc. Slap an anime picture on it and your chances of being featured sky rocket. Yeah sure there are a lot of anime mods nobody finds, but thats because there is SO much anime that there simply isn't space for all of it to be featured. bOi.

@Ms.Kanna to put it bluntly and I'm sorry for what's turning your mod comments into a discussion Alex but Samuel has pretty much been causing people in-game UIs to become broken messes because he's "updating" his mod (Helm's Deep) to where he's now able to strip away certain features from the game's UI like Mutations, Campaign, Single Player, etc , just to try and force people to play his mod the way HE wants it to be played. However because of him NOT being a developer for L4D2 he's NOT SUPPOSED TO BE DOING WHAT HE'S DOING and anybody that calls him out on it gets blocked and their comments removed... sound familiar?

@Alex well, it's purely made as a joke mod, so I didn't had a problem with it.

I also want to point out that Hawke's borderlands mods aren't any better, they have the same level of quality as the others... crappy. Its honestly a bit upsetting seeing Tricky on his friends list because I've seen Tricky's work, his level of quality is WAY higher than Hawke's... but I can't say the same for Serious Samuel because of what he's been doing with Helm's Deep so those two deserve each other.

Yep, I had a couple of Chinese friends who's creating great Idolm@ster survivor model mods. but he's also affected by this mess and didn't upload his work for awhile.

There's three reasons for me to downvoting any mods.

1. If said mod were basically a super cheap mods (like single sound replacement or lazy skin replacement) that's not created for comedic sake, I'll downvoting it.

2. If said mod were using pornography to attracting perverts to downloading it, I'll downvoting it.

3. If said mod were obviously troll/offensive mods, I'll downvoting it.

Stars... It was pretty much irrelevant back then, and it is even less so now.

But people that actually make quality animesque mods would also be labeled as "weebs" making "low-effort copy-paste mods" because of this enforced biasing of the Weeb Mafia. Everyone around would just say "anime is trash", "weebs must be exterminated", and so on, and so forth.

Whatever they are trying to do, it is not helping anime at all. It essentially hurts every side.

@8siandude well, as far as I inspecting HawkeIsLife's uploading behavior, he tends to releasing 10-20 reskinned mods under the same theme per week.

For example, in the last week, HawkeIsLife thinks that "Okay, lets spamming the workshop with my KanColle reskins". then he spammed 10 - 20 cheap KanColle reskins to the workshop at once . After finished flooding the workshop with his garbage for 3 - 4 days, you'll see at least 4 - 5 cheap mods suddenly appeared on the front page, and ALL of his mods uploaded in said week will already had 3-star ratings when it surged into front page.

but, thanks to our cooperation against his garbage, we've downvoting his garbage shit to make sure it didn't get more than 4 stars.

I honestly got here because the name were misspelled, expecting another l4d2-workshop-flooded-with-anime joke. I'm still disappointed because of the amount of anime around here and how this addon here was rather an experiment than a joke, but nah whatever

@8sianDude, so far we only know that the Weeb Mafia is real, and some of its "members" aka "bots" manage to blindly upvote this particular mod as well, never bothering with its content or purpose, just seeing an animesque preview and a familiar-looking title.

But since several modders not affiliated with the Mafia (even if they actually do anime-related mods!) suffer a flurry of downvotes at the same time everyone else does, and Hawke apparently has it the other way around, we can only assume that he is no less than an honorary member of the Mafia.

You shouldn't really go and accuse people when there's no hard evidence to backup. That person could be innocent for all we know.

Though for me personally, I am suspecting another dude who used to upload those Girls Frontline loading screen mods that somehow got 5 stars rating in like 2 days with little to no effect from Nov 2018 until Jan 2019. Though he has since been offline for about 3 months (or maybe he's just in invisible mode, who knows?).

This is the epitome of "trash". Notice in the very first screenshot how he didn't even have the decency to adjust the dimensions of the source picture to fit the vending machine: it says "ieR Automa" as a result. But it's in HD and has RNG, yo.

It replaces a wooden crate texture with... this. And his mods inexplicably find their way to the Most Popular This Week, and at the same time every non-anime-related mod rapidly loses positions. But this is merealy a coincidence, alright, and people just love cheap mods.

the other one is Voz, a Love Live fanboy who is spamming tons of trash random sound replacement with tag spamming.
