Is there a way to generate and copy a full list of ALL mod IDs?
Jing Feb 13, 2024 @ 1:30am
Doesn't work now. I edited CustomFolder.lua and when I opened the game's mod menu with concise mod manager enabled, custom folders didn't show up..
Havan_IronOak Jun 13, 2023 @ 7:32pm
I'm using this and it works great but I CANNOT find the lua that contains my current list of mods.
I generated one today 6/13/2023 and yet the only one that matches the name given in the mouseover was generated in 2022 Can you specify the full name and directory?
wuTz May 18, 2023 @ 6:19pm
still useful in 2023
TheCivEngineer Feb 4, 2023 @ 7:22am
Anyone else try this out on Mac? I can't seem to copy the mod tags? Ctrl-A seems to select all but Ctrl-C (or Command-A) doesn't seem to do anything. Just curious, thanks!
snowgods000 Oct 18, 2022 @ 8:42pm
@west0208 yep that mod conflict with all the mod managers, not just this one
ubereffect  [author] Aug 21, 2021 @ 7:35pm
@west0208 - I had a quick look at the mod you're referring to. Seems both mods replace Mods.lua. I'm guessing that's what's causing the problem.

FYI: While eudaimonia was kind enough to grant me an [author] tag, he's the one who actually created the mod. I just helped a bit with testing, suggestions, and wrote a guide for it (linked in the description).
west0208 Aug 17, 2021 @ 10:38am
@ubereffect - I use this mod and enable "2273495829", -- Enhanced Natural Wonders Selection
this mod, and restart game
When I enter the game and choice MOD, the screen is crash and stop at nod manage page
with no any MODs show.
Do you know why ?
ubereffect  [author] May 29, 2021 @ 7:04pm
@The Big Red Cheese - I'm not aware of any way to prevent mods from re-enabling themselves. And I've seen prominent modders give the same answer. Here's a few band-aid solutions.

1) I've gotten into the habit of going strait to the mod menu whenever I launch the game. If using Concise Mod Manager, click the middle 'calendar' icon to organize mods by update time. Useful for catching mods that re-enabled themselves with recent updates. While I'm in there, I also like clicking the 'Generate Mod ID' icon to the right of the mod name, then Ctrl+A to highlight, and Ctrl+C to copy the mod info, which I then Ctrl+V paste in Google to see what changed.

2) As long as I'm using a setup saved in 'Organize by Custom Folders', I can disable all mods (quickest way being through 'Organize by Enabled'), then simply re-enable my saved loadout.

I hope this helps.

Hi, I'm going to try this mod, but you mention you're a power user of mods, so I was hoping you might have tip or two about mods...

I have a frequent problem where the game decides to update a certain mod, and randomly will turn it off or on, and then this will invalidate a game save... for example this happened just now, and I'm combing through all my mods to figure out which one was turned off/on and trying to reenable it... Do you have any way to avoid this? I was hoping there was a feature to disable mod updates on steam, but I can't find it.
Silentshadow Apr 29, 2021 @ 8:23am
love this mod! thanks a ton. Makes mod setups a ton easier
ubereffect  [author] Apr 17, 2021 @ 7:34am
@Akkadon - Yes it still works.

I guess you could say I'm a bit of a power user? I'm subscribed to, and use, a lot of mods.

Concise Mod Manager allows me to organize my mods into folders. You can have the same mod in multiple folders if you want. Any uncategorized mod will show up in the 'Extra' folder. Have a set of mods you like to use while playing single player, another set of mods you regularly use in multiplayer, and maybe you have a friend you regularly play with who has their own preferences? You can assign a folder for each setup. I also have folders dedicated to categories, for mods that affect the User Interface, Maps, and so on.

Concise Mod Manager has some other nice features too. All credit goes to eudaimonia, he's the actual author. I just wrote the guide in the description, which I'd recommend reading.
Akkadon Apr 7, 2021 @ 12:25pm
I kinda want to try this, because it looks like an amazing way to keep things organized while filling the game with more stuff, but its age is making me a little apprehensive. Does this still work just fine like it's supposed to?
Acehart Jul 19, 2020 @ 3:33pm
Hello Eudaimonia, do you know any way to you can set order of the mod's begin instantiated/started/running ?
eudaimonia  [author] Oct 20, 2019 @ 10:56pm

rlong9000 Oct 8, 2019 @ 7:45pm
@eudaimonia - Sorry to see you withdrawing from active development of your very excellent and ambitious mods. I regret the circumstances - i.e. firaxis' capricious coding behaviors and total disregard for the mod developers that keep their half-baked games alive, as well as the strain of a sometimes impossible-to-please following. You have been a wellspring of inspiration and have my most sincere admiration. Thank you for everything you have added to the game!
kevindefranco Sep 25, 2019 @ 12:29pm
thank you Laurana...i will try this now
Laurana Kanan Sep 25, 2019 @ 12:05pm
If you're using the subscribed version via Steam it will likely be located @ "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\289070\1671978687". Look for a file named cui.modinfo. Open it with a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++ and place a <!-- at the beginning and a --> at the end of any line that has "modules/trade_panel" as part of the file name.

Alternatively, you could just delete the folder "trade_panel" sub-folder located in the modules folder. Although by doing so, the game and mod will run, but you'll get errors in your log files because the modinfo will be referencing files that don't exist.
kevindefranco Sep 25, 2019 @ 8:28am
Laurana i currently have Better Trade Screen as well. Also i am an old white guy, not sure how to 'comment out the lines in modinfo'...lol where on my computer do i even find that.
Laurana Kanan Sep 25, 2019 @ 6:52am
@kevindefranco Yes, comment out the lines in the modinfo referencing the Trade Screen and then subscribe to Astog's Better Trade Screen.
Yokomoko Sep 25, 2019 @ 6:29am
@kevindefranco unfortunately its bugged currently
kevindefranco Sep 25, 2019 @ 5:11am
i have both Concise UI and the Concise Mod Manager. When i am in the Trade Screen, when i select a target city, i can not get the 'Begin Route' button to work anymore. I have had to cancel 5 games, because i could not get it to work. Is there a solution to resolve.
imiami Jul 5, 2019 @ 10:52pm
I liked the modular structure of the mod that had previously existed, with the possibility of using only the desired parts. Is it possible to add the ability to enable / disable individual elements of the mod?
doninmontana Jun 19, 2019 @ 8:32pm
great mods but with update they need updating concise ui leader icon doesnt work for me love ur mods thx for hard work
Kepos Jun 18, 2019 @ 1:18pm
Seems this mod breaks the mod selection with the new update today. Can't do anything, only blue Civ VI screen visible. Playing on Linux.
Pheonick May 16, 2019 @ 6:40am
Thank you eudaimonia for all the work you have put into modding civ 6 x
Dovahkiin May 11, 2019 @ 3:01pm
@eudaimonia I agree that some users of this mod do take the time to make a .lua file to store their custom mod folders, but even so I'm sure most of us would still appreciate a search bar just in case, I really don't mind the UI alignments for having a search bar. Is it ok if you set up an option to "toggle search bar on/off"?

On a side note it would also be nice for users to create custom folders and group mods to those folders in-game, saves the trouble to switch between game & notepad.
eudaimonia  [author] May 11, 2019 @ 2:30pm
@Dovahkiin
"search" is disabled on purpose for 2 reasons,
1). imo, all the UI elements aligned much better without search bar.
2). I think players using this mod will use custom folders more to organize their files than to search.
Dovahkiin May 11, 2019 @ 2:20pm
Hi @ubereffect I really love this mod, however I cannot find a search bar, could you add search functionality please?
Plerion Apr 20, 2019 @ 11:29pm
@The Unwritten Man - No fools here, just learners :)
ubereffect  [author] Apr 20, 2019 @ 10:04pm
@The Unwritten Man

I'd recommend using notepad++. [notepad-plus-plus.org]
It color codes the text within the 'CustomFolder.lua' config file.
Making it easier for humans to understand.

To answer you question.
You edit the "Custom Area". The examples are what you edit.

@Anyone who saw the lengthy explanation I gave moments ago. (I deleted it)
I had just woken up. Didn't understand the question clearly enough.
And gave a much more detailed answer then required. :steamfacepalm:
The Unwritten Man Apr 20, 2019 @ 7:23pm
@plerion. I have followed the guide, and I'm in the custom folder lua, I'm just confused as to into what section to paste my formated folders list. There's the tile, the section that says "custom folders" with a note NOT to edit it, A blank space before the backup reminder, two custom areas, the instructions, the examples, and then the " don't edit below here" section and then the end bracket. Forgive me, I'm only half mod literate, I know just enough to get myself into trouble and look like a complete fool to anyone who knows what they're doing.
Nizou Apr 20, 2019 @ 3:18pm
I don't remember totally, but with a YT tutorial I had to run the Python Console of Civ5 tools, execute specific commands and run Civ6
Plerion Apr 20, 2019 @ 11:05am
@Levas/Alis - Glad you liked it. I'm curious, which tools did you use?
Nizou Apr 20, 2019 @ 4:39am
Hey man it's a really good manager, i love it !
Some ideas i had : filters for single and multiplayer compatibility, affecting the saved games
Also, thanks for activating world builder directly in the game, before i had to use Civ 5 and Civ 6 tools in order to run it
Plerion Apr 20, 2019 @ 12:27am
@The Unwritten Man - The perhaps contrived way to add custom folders is sadly a limitation from the game, but I'm glad you are trying it out. Have you followed the guide referenced at the end?
The Unwritten Man Apr 19, 2019 @ 8:25pm
So I'm clearly missing something. Under what heading do I put my custom mod folders in the cumstomfolder.lua ? LOVE the idea of this mod, but can't seem to get the basics working.
Amom Apr 19, 2019 @ 11:00am
¡Me gusta! Gracias. :-)

I Like it. Thanks.
JEELEN Apr 18, 2019 @ 10:57am
Nice work. Good job.
FR33L0RD Apr 16, 2019 @ 8:56pm
Folders.
This is excellent. I like that. Will use it.
Thanks to eudaimonia, ubereffect & Plerion.:steamhappy:
steemroller Apr 15, 2019 @ 8:35pm
@ubereffect, I was referring to being able to define different working sets of mods with the "/-" buttons.

@plerion, "notion" was a poor choice of word; I meant feature.
steemroller Apr 15, 2019 @ 8:33pm
well, kudos to you. thanks for the reply.
eudaimonia  [author] Apr 15, 2019 @ 12:33pm
@steemroller
I don’t think it’ll work.
I didn't intend to make this mod at first place, instead, I have sent FF16 a improved version of his mod manager, because I think one mod manager for community is enough. but after more than a month of waiting, he didn't reply and didn't use my advice.
Ye, I'm getting a little bored of waiting, that’s why I made this, a mod made of boring.
Plerion Apr 15, 2019 @ 12:29pm
Plus, either in vanilla, FF16's mod, or Concise's, you can always use the grouping feature up above (I have 3 groups: "vanilla", "working", "testing").
ubereffect  [author] Apr 15, 2019 @ 12:08pm
@steemroller - I'm guessing you're referring to how Enhanced Mod Manager splits the view between 'Disabled' and 'Enabled' content? Concise Mod Manager has similar functionality. It's default view splits content as follows: 'Official Content', 'WorldBuilder Map', 'Enabled', and 'Disabled'. All of your enabled mods are grouped under 'Enabled', and disabled mods under 'Disabled'. And this is just the default view. Concise Mod Manager has another 3 ways of viewing/organizing your mods: by Author, by Update Time, and by Custom Folders. That last one allows you to organize your mods however you like, in your own custom folders.
Plerion Apr 15, 2019 @ 11:39am
@steemroller - The notion? What do you mean?
steemroller Apr 15, 2019 @ 11:33am
I like this mod. The next level of enhancement would be the intersection of what Enhanced Mod Manager brings: the notion of a working set of mods. Would be great if you (two) might move toward that sweet spot. Congrats on a great contribution!
Plerion Apr 15, 2019 @ 11:16am
@ChrisMartin - Yes, it's an alternative to Enhanced Mod Manager, you can have only one active at a time.
Koja Apr 15, 2019 @ 8:00am
Thank you so much for this! Finally a way to keep all my Civs and Leaders in one place and prevent the Gedemo City States from cluttering up my Mod Screen.
ChrisMartin Apr 15, 2019 @ 7:06am
Haven't got time to test the mod yet, but I'm guessing this is an alternative to Enhanced Mod Manager?
I love the idea of structure, having over 40 mods active, I can't afford to subscribe to mods I'm not using in my current play-through. That will create chaos in my mod manager. Specially when I'm brute-editing mods to fit my own play-style.
This manager will probably solve that problem :)
