I try!
It's just actuator. You may need to restart Steam, sometimes it doesn't download Workshop items correctly. If that doesn't work, try restarting your computer. (That works more often, but is the second thing I recommend because people usually don't want to do that for some reason.)
Mine just adds the 1x1 ones. It was also made before that one, I just didn't get around to posting it until recently.

The actuators don't have an appearance. They're invisible objects you place on background walls that 'move' the background tiles into the foreground.

He likely wants a vanilla-friendly version. Which, as far as I know, is impossible.

OI NEED THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSss
Oh dang, you right. I've been building background doors for a li'l bit and didn't even realise the possibilities.
Have you never used a secret door?
The secret doors in Starbound are objects that 'move' background tiles to the foreground, and can be toggled like doors.
This mod adds single-tile versions of those.
That's it.
They're exactly as described. They're just like the normal secret doors (which use the background tile you place them on), but single-tile.
Whoops, my bad. I forgot to add recipes. They should work now.
