Gerald.boyd I am sure that the process of making new civs, maps and scenarios is a very long process but you said that this is going to be a series of 20 civs, there is currently 9 and you last updated this around 3 years ago and I was wondering what was happening and hopefully this collection hasn't ground to a halt as I love the Belgariad and Malloreon.

Awseoeme, I love this combined with the Elder Scrolls mod- more fantasy empires, the better!

Hi Gerald.
This is a wonderful find - my favourite books turned into my fave game - and if there is anything at all I can do to help (even if it is only checking stuff, as I know these books like the back of my hand including the 2 prequels) please just let me know and I will happily do all that I can.
We run our own production company, so assistance with art/audio/video etc is also an option.

Hey guys-what you are doing is really awesome. Creating a Civ 5 mod for the Belgariad and Malloreon series is awesome. I had created a map for the series a while ago plus maps for the West and East too. I'm not sure if you guys would be interested in looking at them but if you want I would happily message them to you. Keep up the good work!!!

20 Civs!

When I started this project, I wrote down a few notes:

This mod is designed to provide factions from the David Eddings Series The Belgariad and The Malloreon.

Initially, each empire, kingdom, or faction will be produced in it's own mod. Each mod will only offer Leader, Building, and Unit upgrades. Minimal art will also be added.
The history and flavor of the world that Eddings created will be a focal point of each mod.
Perhaps the Specialist - Sorcerer (and/or Grolim) will be added at some time in the future.
When all the factions are complete, they will be compiled into one mod. Maps and Scenarios will be added to the Belgariad and Malloreon Mod at a later time.

Perhaps this could be a basis for our work. We can modify the above points to have a 'constitution' of sorts. We will all be working from the same platform for the sake of consistency.

Copied from the General Discussion thread in the Group Forum.

Are you going to set it up as a scenario, or just a map pack with civs and True starting Locations?

Plans are to make separate civs of the Mimbrates and the Asturians with Vo Wucane as a City-State.

I'd be interested in helping out with this. No coding knowledge but a huge fan of the books.

I'm not really experienced with programming or anything, but I was just thinking about what a great idea it'd be to include non-"leader" characters as Great People. I don't know if it'd be possible, but there it is.

We have setup a group here on Steam to organize the development of these mods. It's called the Edding's Belgariad and Malloreon Civ5 Mod Dev Group. EddingsGroup for short. Group ID 5003893.

If you are interested in giving us your opinion about faction leaders, civs, units, buildings, or other things like history, comment here and I will send you an invitation. If you would like to join the development team, please let us know.

Thank you for your support in this large (but fun!) effort.
