Kouga - I usually do the same, but I it pretty much made my character invincible and that took away part of the fun. If you prefer rewards that give you only a bit of an edge then the lower rewards are best, I suppose it really depends on how you like to play.
Love the mod by the way, excellent idea as it suggets to me that the charcter learns from their experiences and grows stronger.

That's a typo. I need to fix it. It should be "doesn't deny."
This mod works even if you've already completed all of the quests in question. So long as you have access to a forge you should be good.
You can select any type of bonus for each and every award. If you want nothing but Major bonuses that's entirely your choice. There's no limit on the number of benefits you can choose.
"does deny" As in doesn't allow? Is that a typo? Or is it really so that I can't get some memoirs If I play this mod with a savefile where I already have completed some of the quests?
Also, since I didn't spot a direct answer to this question that some others already asked, Ill ask again: Do you have the option to choose between least, lesser, moderate and major for all of the quests? So if I wished, I could choose major for all of them? Or is there a limit, like you could choose only 4 majors, 4 moderates etc. (I'm not talking about choosing multiple buffs for one milestone, rather if you can choose major for all of the milestones.)
I'll have to check on that spell family issue - if it exists that might be a fun good workaround to the problem. As it stands what I might do is actually make the recipes a bit more restrictve, preventing you from crafting the book once you have another version in your inventory.
I'm not sure how much work it would be but it should be possible to make it that people can read a lesser book and a better book later, removing the first effect. This would make more sense as reading an addendum to a story is more natural than not being able to read a book you've read before.
Just to clarify, I can pick one buff from EACH effort reward? I'm kind of having a hard time to understand why anyone would want to pick anything other than the Major improvements. Sure it makes you overpowered but that is kind of what I missed in V as opposed to III and IV, that feeling of walking around like a superhuman after putting in a hundred hours.
I mean, you're eating dragon souls left and right which should "absorb their power and knowledge" and a single dragon is strong enough to raze a city. It doesn't make sense that I get wacked by 3 random bandits after killing a dozen dragons.
As far as a non-dlic version, I'll see what I can do. It would require removing some of the benefits but it should be doable. It'll just take a bit of time.
there are 4 diffirent versions of each book.(least, lesser, moderate and major) reading it gives you those boosts. version gives a different amount of the boosts. you can only read one of the versions.
Requirement: Complete Battle for Solitude
Least: Health regenerates 3% faster during combat.
Lesser: Health regenerates 5% faster during combat.
Moderate: Health regenerates 10% faster during combat.
Major: Health regenerates 20% faster during combat.
Only battle for Solitude? What if I side with the Imperials? Is it Imperials and Stormcloaks?
player.removespell xx00D445 ; Hero of Skyrim 1
player.removespell xx00FC00 ; Hero of Skyrim 2
player.removespell xx00FC01 ; Hero of Skyrim 3
player.removespell xx00FC03 ; Hero of Skyrim 4
You can also find out the code by typing: help 4 "name of power" - you'll want the SPEL code. Then just use the player.removespell command.
@str0267 - Yes, this will work for imperial or stormcloak questlines. It doesn't matter which side you choose, only that you finish that quest line.
Just as an idea, you could probably set the lower powered abilities to turn of if a higher one is active. Or stop all of them from being crafted if the player has any of them in their inventory.
