For those who wanna know, the cheat to get church influence is add_offmap_currency offmap_PDP_church # with # being the number you want.
Changing policy is set_offmap_policy offmap_PDP_church policyname
Changing status is set_offmap_status offmap_PDP_church statusname
You can look up policy and status names from the mod files.

Does anyone know if there is a console command to add Church influence like the one to add China influence? If so, what is it?

i tried playing the pope, but the game ended after 10 months

Hey! I love this mod so far, I was wondering if you could somehow incorporate playing barony tier bishoprics, I feel as though it'd add even more flavour as well as offer some more challenges when rising up your tiers

I'm trying to mend the schism. Catholic countries own alexandria, jerusalem, antioch, constantinople, and rome in my game with the temple holdings all being held by catholic priests. It still says that the catholic church does not have control over the pentarchy. How do I fix this?

Hey @Lrds sorry to double post but I've encountered a bug it seems- if I use the decision 'Create Empire' with the Pope, upon his death it defaults to the game over screen instantly, is there a way around this to apply the same succession type to the empire title?

Is it possible to make this mod compatible with Better Looking Garbs and other mods that alter the clothing of the pope/cardinals? I've noticed that NPC popes display the modded clothing, however, when my character becomes pope, the outfit/tiara defaults to the vanilla version.

This is a really fun mod. I'm enjoying playing as the Pope.

Nice mod, it is always good to be a pope.

As a suggestion, it would be nice to assign inquisitors while not being the papacy, since right now it shows the "councillor possition to be filled" notification. Maybe reducing their effectivity while not being the papacy (like instead of hunting apostates, they only give a very small quantity of monthly piety/karma...)

This looks amazing, any idea if it will work for Catholic theocracies in After the End? I would guess the mechanics are the same but idk if you've just specifically changed all the bishops in the basegame

CK3 is planned at some point in time. When I first tried to implement it just after release, there were some issues with modding custom succession types for theocracies, so I abandoned it. Also, there is another mod (hopefully still) under development by someone else, to bring a college of cardinals with a lot of extra nice features like inquisitions to CK3. My plan has therefore shifted to wait for that mod or a SoA themed DLC to release (whatever happens first) and then build on that. In the mean time I became reasonably good at GUI modding in CK3 through other projects (mainly ResPublica, which is also paused because CK3 has even worse restrictions than CK2 regarding unlanded gameplay), so that when I finally do something like this I can make a proper GUI.

@Seigneur Fantôme: In case you still need an answer - the interaction sets a special targetted flag and there is a on-death event that figures out how to properly replace the dead bishop. I work around the succession mechanisms by having the bishop abdicate just seconds before dying.
@Imperator of Rome: Well, not necessarily rotting, it should still work since there won't be any new updates from PDX to break it. But yeah, CK3 just looks way better. :-)

Don't expect this to get updated. The mod dev for all intents and purposes said so themselves they're leaving this to rot. Very disappointing.

There won't be major additions to the mod. Having seen CK3 and it's modding capabilities, modding CK2 is just not fun.

So these answers are somewhat late, but still:
@Knot: You have to control him. For this, his liege needs to be catholic. Alternatively, you can simply imprison him.
@Stucka: Right click on your character portrait / somewhere in the church interface: There's an option to "think about declining the papacy". Do that and you'll not be elected. Alternatively, don't go to the conclave.
@Karinafalen, hanger, bruce: Yes, somewhat. Once the crusades have started you get the option to declare one. That will trigger a countdown and the UI will appear. As the pope you cannot pledge to join, as you are automatically part of the crusade. It's somewhat buggy, but hardcoded.
@hotdog: Some parts might work, some might not. I've never tried it.
