Every gun till you get precision rifling is just a copy of another vanilla gun. The judge is the same as the revolver, uzi is machine pistol, and p7 is autopistol. They have essentially the same stats, and are just reskins. Where is the early game variety??

@laranos This mod is not for Combat Extended. If you want the same weapons for Combat Extended, check out Combat Extended Guns.

So some odd reason im getting dups of thes guns. And none of them work. And its only these guns. The standard combat ones work fine.

I'm curious how gun stats are used. From a 1991 publication by Kevin Dockery, a former presidential guard armorer and class III weaponsmith said an M16A2 itself has a basic probability to achieve a body hit of 71.4% modified by shooter skill at 500 m. It's SS RoF should be around 45 rpm or full auto recommended rate of 150 rpm continuous.

So, how is Rimworld ARs limited to 40 cell? I assumed a cell is about 1 m. And just as a comp... AK-74 is listed as 89% at 500 m.

So, what is the maximum range of a rifle in Rimworld? I was thinking about modifying guns to see what would happen.

I see problems right off the bat. I stopped looking after beginning by comparing the Vector to the Heavy SMG. Identical stats in almost every way *except* the Vector has a longer range (?), shoots an extra bullet per burst, has a lower cooldown - oh and its costs a significant amount less resources to make...

Weapons need the be balanced or whats the point

FN-MAG to go with those FALs, please? Currently the only good Rifle-SAW/GPMG matchup is the AK-47 and the RPD.

I love every single weapon in this modpack but one. Because it has a relatively low base price, raiders will spawn with M72 LAWs and either one shot my colonists, or get a free kill on one of my turrets.

They're there--the pack currently has the Milkor MGL and the M72 LAW as launchers, along with the TAc-50 and PTRS-41 as AMRs.

PKM, M60, FN FAl - must be with damage 18 units, and be more expensive (larger caliber and higher firepower) the USAS shotgun should become a more formidable melee weapon (fires 4 shells, 18 damage) the anti-tank rifle damage should be 40 units (14.5 cartridge damage of about)
Dragunov rifle (SVD) to reduce the damage to 18 (as in the vanilla rifle) but make it more rapid-fire (similar to the vanilla rifle, but further and faster shoots)
charge machinegun to make more deadly weapon (turn of 10 cartridge)

No, you should be able to add it to a save without any issues. If you remove it from a save, it may cause some issues when you first load it up again, but it shouldn't be anything save-breaking.

Malthazen, I don't have any specifics for armor penn at present--I'd have to look in-have and see if they're assigned some default value, or if the have generates armorpenn based on some other values.

Garbage, if you have a useful, quantitative suggestion for the PTRS, feel free to share, but don't expect me to waste time the to drag it out of you.

Dench, thank you for the input; I'd thought of the PTRS as a sort of low-tier AMR, but lacking accuracy at range due to having only iron sights. And a crossbow would come with a move towards a more general weapon pack.

While I'm sure the author of Rambo Weapons would be pleased to hear that, it's not useful input here.

Uzi should be simple enough, if I can dig up the old sprite they used to use for the machine pistol. I'm looking at re-making higher quality versions of the existing textures here eventually, so the FAMAS would likely happen then, if it happens

The RPG-7 is a bit trickier--I'd need to figure out how to make the warhead part disappear so it wouldn't look funny.

What are your guys' feelings on me adding a variety of different kinds of weapons in addition to modern guns (melee, ranged weapons from other eras, etc.) and turning this into a more general weapon pack? Would that be a good addition, or something you'd rather see as a separate mod?

I believe its an issue of the sprite. Unless the charge LMG is meant to look like a black belt-fed machine gun chambered in 7.62 and designed in 1957.

Are you remarking on aesthetic of the weapon, Krill, or reporting a bug where they Charge LMG used the wrong sprite?
