dive then immediately glide.
Yes. I know. It's weird but that does work.
1. If it's basically an upgraded Hover Badge it should automatically save you from falling like the hover badge.
2. Make it so it doesnt replace the dive cancel. If you dive and press space it activates the glide, but it does keep momentum so you can get some good distance, but it also means you can overshoot your target by miles if you aren't expecting it. Maybe if you could make it so you do your dive cancel THEN pressing space opens the umbrella, that would be very nice.
Other than that, excellent mod.
1. You can actually repeatedly press the jump button to slow your descent even more. It doesn't work that great for clearing gaps, though. Every time you press the jump button, you cancel most of your forward momentum.
2. You can gain a LOT more distance by diving before deploying the umbrella. Unlike the quirk listed above, this one actually retains all of your forward momentum. Diving before gliding can REALLY help you clear large gaps, especially if you gain height by jumping first.
Those were just two things I noticed you could do with it. Other than that, this badge is a SUPER useful tool!
