What you are describing is happening is both bogies are on the same sub grid. Then the script tries to compensate for both and results in phantom forces exactly how you describe.

Maybe both bogies got connected into one grid when copying or the catch blocks are somehow obstructed from rotating?

i recently elevated an existing world i was playing with friends and when i move my rail cart i built, 2 bogies attached via catch blocks to a platform, when i move it through a switch it encounters phantom forces that accelerate it down track and i can't bring it through the switch if i move it backwards. is this because i elevated a SP world to a DS?

Is there a way to tell the tracks to keep a consistent grade across their individual lengths? Right now the slope varies wildly and when viewed from the side each track segment in the vertical is shaped like a snake instead of a smooth slope. It's like riding a roller coaster. If we could set the slope on the straight segments so the two endpoints have different elevations, that would be cool.

i found out what the problem was.

for all new starter:

- when u place those railplanner, u must look to the ground where to place it, when it turns blue,u got it.
- if u want to place a cart on the rails, u have to be in "nongrid mode", place it freely over the rails in the air, middle it. then the cart falls down on the rails! if u grid it on the rails its bumped to the rails and nothing moves.

Where can i find the switches? Can't find them in G menu, crafting table or smithy.

there is a bug in your grading code:
when on a dedicated server, one player uses a grader, and another player removes the rail the first player uses to grade, the server completely freezes up. doesn't even count as crash, it's just frozen.

this affects everything grading related, so be careful when you grade your rails on a server

This is because the Industrial Modpack disables it to encourage looking for own solutions.

i tried to build the handcart, it doesn't require any material and disappears after building it, so i can't pick it up and finish the quest. any idea. i am using the industrial mod

Hello Equinox.It I'm writing to you because I have subscribed to Rails modes.When I did not work for me.I have tried in creative mode and in surviving mode too. We have not found anywhere in the game.Ped I have restarted my machine for sure of a sure-based basis. To me help where I was worried or what did not I noticed? I was looking for in the book even where they could learn things, but I did not find anything about it. Thank you for the help.

martanovai, they both use the vrage 2.0 engine, so translating it shouldnt be too hard, the real problem would come from making it work with the space engineer code and functions. the mod, i presume, is a big one, and space engineers is pretty big and complicated too, so i would definitely say its not going to be an easy task, doable, but pretty hard.

tested in .7 For the handcart make sure to be in the operating position, {F Key in the small floor either side} than run wile holding shift .your character uses stamina.

Yes it does. There could be plenty of other reasons for that, since the game has been 'released' and left alone in a pretty buggy state. The community is still alive though and would be eager to help out. I recomment joining one of the ME-related discord servers and post your issue there, including the game log.

it wasnt until i tried it out for myself that i got it to work the odd bug here and there, but its good and working, one question though is the cheaper rails going to work after the march update (should probably update the workshop pages to mention they still work)

Equinox wrote code for the ME Devs that was built into the vanilla game making things like crossbows and animated use items actually useable.
Without the SE Dev team porting those libraries it isn't possible.

Thank you, @Dr Fraud I'm using the steel rails. I've tried WSAD and the handcart does nothing. Won't move at all. I can push it around so it's not the friction.
Update: I reset all my keys and after 2 or 3 seconds, it's now working. Really weird.

You may get some benefit reading back through these posts. The hand cart is nearly useless on wooden rails, the friction co-efficient is very high. Oddly this has no effect when pushed/pulled whilst on foot.

Guys, is this broken? If is it's a terrible shame because it's a beautiful model. I can lay track but my handcart (crank) does nothing. It will roll but refuses to move with power no matter what.
I've Googled around and I can't seem to find anyone that can tell me hoe to make this work.
I'm looking for a small loco.

Is there any way to see the grade/curvature of the rails as you're placing them? Some of the larger locomotives/railcars require pretty strict grade/curve limits.

The initial straight sections are built with a vanilla hammer since they are actually blocks conforming to the building grid.
The bendy sections are instead dynamic objects and thus need a special tool to interact with them, in this case the railroaders hammer.

Cant seem to get the sledgehammer to work on straight sections of rail. OK on bendy sections but need to use normal hammer on straights. Just me?? Any ideas??

It is also significant if you're using wood or metal rails. On wood it's very slow to get the handcart moving. You will definitely need to use your sprint key <SHIFT>.

They do move, they just start slowly. Holding the shift key helps a lot.

Not sure if handcarts are currently bugged and don't move or I'm just an idiot and forgot how to control them. (They should just move on W and S, right?)

@CodedArms Actually... it is. You don't have to subscribe to anything other than this mod as all the required stuff is listed in the dependecies and gets added automatically.
