It is similar in concept to DUWS. It also has around 14 factions to choose from.

This woud have been perfect...

If the zone creation would be like in DUWS-Rebirth. Because here it is not only as slow as in the original but also you cant have too much zones because the szenario cant find enough space for them... Wtf I played with 6 Zones with a Radius ranging from 300-2000 Meters with a max distance fron HQ that is 20km. And it cant create that?? In DUWS-R I play with the same settings but I never create under 10 Zones and it works everytime, creating them in under 5 seconds most of the time. Please Update that, It would make this Version the best one on the workshop.

t_orton IIRC this does not use the default Arma save. Open Map and look at the options to left. I think there is a help file there.

Google Drive you have to download it from there to your PC.

Main Directory is where the game is installed. To find that right click on game in Steam Library go to properties follow your nose.

sorry to ask again, since i'm pretty sure someone asked the same thing a while ago, but is there a fortification building system integrated in the scenario? if there is, how can i use it in-game?

I don't have the Save function on my game.

I clicked the Google Drive link and it showed me a DUWS Overhauled folder, inside which is SPMPS DUWS Overhauled. This doesn't do anything and I can't copy it.

What and where is the "ARMA3 main directory"? Where is the "missions" folder?

What now please?
This is a great version of a great game and I can't play it.

@Tazor - Download Google Drive version. Last comment I've made here actually targeted this issue. Reading is a gift.

@August Von Mackenson - Tested it just be sure, works on my end. Can't tell why it shouldn't work on yours, hope you solved it.

It doesn't even save. I used the sitrep save, closed the game and tried to play again. Can't resume. Just start over. You need to finish the entire thing in one sitting. I am giving up on trying this. It's a waste of time.

RHS does not seem to work. I am fighting CSAT instead of russians. My default gear and that of all the default units is vanilla. Yes, I am able to call in RHSUSAF troops. But I have no idea how to fight against RHSAFRF army.

@harrywb9 - As far as I remember, this issue is encountered by some people. The problem is Steam and it's subscription feature. Sometimes - I don't know why - Steam is downloading the scenario every time you start the game, so all the progress gets lost.

To conquer this issue, you just have to install the scenario manually. Almost at the bottom of the desciption on that page here, you can find a Google Drive link. Download the scenario, and paste it either into the "missions" or "mpmissions" folder, located at your A3 main directory.

Hello!

I'm having a problem with the game actually saving? Even if i use the sit-rep and rest button at HQ, it never seems to save if i come back and launch arma after closing it the night before, i have to start over again!

Any help please?

Amazing overhaul btw, its got everything that was missing from the original!!!

MajorB: Excellent work keeping DUWS alive. I have converted your version to allow ANY faction as BLUFOR and ANY faction as OPFOR.

Please let me know what you think as I would like your permission to upload it to Workshop as an Alpha for people to test.

@Axe Maniac - I think you've just named it wrong. The correct names of Weferlingen are either "gm_weferlingen_summer" or "gm_weferlingen_winter".

Tried to change the map to Weferlingen and it didnt work. This is my mission file name, SPMP_DUWS_Overhauled.Weferlingen.pbo what could be the problem. Thanks in advance

@grzegorz.szmidt84 - Glad you enjoy it. Regarding the problem you've encountered during said mission, it's probably because you didn't bring it back to the base yourself. As far as I can remember, you have to sit in the vehicle to end the mission. Feel free to tell me if it works that way.

BTW, I'am not able to end 'seize transport helicopter' mission. I was able to get to it, make one of my operatives to fly back to home base in it and land it there but mission does not end...

Yes! DUWS is so far the best dynamic scenario generator! I was trying some of the promising counterparts but they're not so universal and playable, often bugged. I just wish we could play as opfor and to be able to specify factions for bluefor and opfor manually. Fraction editor would be something I would pay for! It would be also nice if we could specify zone's attributes manually (their size and type).

This is lovely! Personally I think DUWS might as well be the default singleplayer way to play Arma (I really wish they made an official version of it) so seeing a new and patched up version is fantastic!

hi! many thanks for that awsome work. i am a sp guy, i like to unit switch and position my squad members, so i hate local lan, cause there it mostly never work, even with custom scripts. how can i enable cup factions or set other mission parameters? i cant find it in the cba gui

@Aryanne The German Pony - No problem, I wanted to add some of the new GM vehicles for a long time anyway. I added the M113 PNMK in addition to some other minor changes.

@grzegorz.szmidt84 - Of course you are able to save the game while hosting a LAN session. You do it via SITREP, 0 - 8, or at HQ and FOB's. After all this time, it'd be pretty weird if I always advised to host a LAN session, but the saves would not work. I always have played LAN myself and together with others.

Inside the main folder is a file called "params.hpp", you can change it's content to your likings. I'd recommend Notepad to edit stuff like that, just in case you don't have it already.

ok I have opened pbo file in pbo manager. What do I need to do in order to enable IED's in single player scenario or at all be able to modify scenario as I can do it in MP via parameters?

@MajorBlunderbuss well, it would be very useful to have access to parameters from single player menu as LAN games cannot be saved... and some people just like to play long scenarios... ;)

@dr_quest - You can only find the parameter menu by hosting the scenario in local LAN. It's just the same as singleplayer. If you wan't to change parameters for singleplayer, you need to unpack the provided .pbo-File and change the default parameters inside to your likings. But like stated, it's kind of unneccessary since you can host it via LAN. Hope this helps!

@Zulu Three Zero - I've never looked into that myself at some point. So I've checked - probably - every file that is somehow linked to the AI-Limiter, and I guess it must be the following line:

if ((Warcom_Limiter_Param == 1) && (aliveAllUnits>99)) exitWith {hint "*DUWS AI Limiter is ENABLED!*\n\nTry Fortifying again when there are less than 100 AI units on the map"};

You can find it inside the InitHQ folder, fortifyFOB.sqf, line 12. Hope this helps, glad you're still enjoying it.

Hi Major, me and my friends are very keen on DUWS, but as you've warned it does start to chug after a few hours on Tanoa and the like. The AI limiter works great, but then we start running into the issue of not being able to fortify FOBs and so on.

You've stated previously that the cutoff is around 130 units - any idea whereabouts in the mission files it would be possible to adjust that number? It'd be good to tinker with it until I find the figure that keeps running smoothly in the later stages but hopefully delays the old "too many units to fortify FOB" issue. Hi, I have a problem. Every time after starting a new campaign, some tank or other AA armor spawns some distance from my HQ, regardless of OPFOR Army Power or maximum distance from HQ settings. This isn't a case with older DUWS scenarios. This prevents me from using any kind of air transport from my HQ. Is this a bug or a feature?

@Shenji - Appreciate your words. And if you are interested in dynamic campaigns and sandbox missions, I can always recommend Liberation as well. It's a bit different than DUWS, but also very enjoyable. Maybe give it a shot of you don't know it already.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try it next time. Still playing around in my current run, though the loading time is enormous long, it's still quite enjoyable. Great mod, and quite fun side-missions. Nearest thing I can find like a real dynamic campaign.

@Shenji - You can enable/disable the AI limiter and various other options by hosting the scenario in a local LAN session. It's about the same as singleplayer. Since you use the google drive version, you first must copy the file into the "mpmissions" folder located in your main directory of A3, in order to launch it via local LAN. Regarding overall lags and the like, DUWS is very performance and hardware consuming, esspecially in later stages of the campaign. Theres nothing to be done about that, except enabling the AI limiter. Hope you are able to still enjoy it, and thanks.

Great mod. And the builder vehicle is quite amazing. But after I tinkered it around for a while, well, just about 4-5 hours without taking care about the campaign, the AI spawned quite a heck lot of units and I got terrible lag, and AI units stopped shooting each others now(World peace is good thing but ** it I just like war). I noticed there's an AI limiter there, how can I turn it on? Also how to adjust other parameters? If there's already an explanation/description about this, then just show me where it is please. Thanks.

@m5holmez - Thanks, glad you enjoy it. Regarding your question: In the main folder of DUWS, there is a file called "repetitive_cleanup.sqf". Inside of it you can get some information, plus change some things regarding the clean up of dead bodies, wrecks etc. The file itself is also linked to the init.sqf. You can either adjust it to your likings, or remove it completely. Hope this is a little helpful to you.

This is a really good version of DUWS and the most up to date works perfectly. One question though, any idea how to stop bodies/wrecks being deleted or at least put the cleaning on a longer timer? Is this done by ZBE cache or some other script?
