I've created a mod inspired by Verge of Galaxy: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1872570102

Presently, 106 songs, about a dozen of which were borrowed from this mod's play list. I, too, had similar interests and criticisms of this mod, which is what inspired me to create my own mod.

@yayo regarding streaming or uploads, if you paste the link to my licensing page (found on the mod description) you will be covered under creative commons licensing, provided you are not selling your content.

This is a really nice-sounding music mod that, mostly, fits nicely with vanilla RimWorld music. Kudos for making this.

That said, I'd concur with drunkenpilot that it'd be better to remove "Hurt". This song is so slow, sad and bland, anyway, that I doubt anyone would actually miss it. Also, I much prefer rather upbeat music for RimWorld.

Too much repetition sounds bad. sad:(

Man, I really liked this mod and the tracks that were included but holy crap, that "Hurt" acoustic cover plays so frequently that I would be happy to never hear the song again. Had to remove this mod strictly due to the repetition, which is disappointing because I like the other tracks.

Thanks anyway, though. It's a good collection, the game just makes that damn song play way too often. Not sure why that one gets repeated so much while others are rarely heard, though...

Is the jerry gamblers music on youtube or other places?

Some people might claim that it doesn't fit in with Rimworld Vanilla, and that's alright. I'm someone who listens to anything from Death Metal, to Hip Hop in the background while playing Rimworld, so I don't mind if music "fits" or not.

I think personally it fits in depending on what kind of game you're intending to play, and if you're unsure - there IS a youtube link that has the music.

I'm personally going to use it when I need something different than vanilla playing in the background.

@Omnivore Yeah.. I don't thinks that it fits well with the Vanilla ones

I love the idea of more music and happily added this but, after some time of use, realized -- Most of the added music is cheap replications of existing music (Hurt by NIN, etc.) done poorly on acoustic guitar, to some sad and slow tone. Most of the music is this. If there is more to this package, then it has failed to load these songs.

If you want something that matches Vanilla tone, this isn't it (contrary to the comments section.) This is low-key and nondescript. None of the trademark whistles or western tie-ins. Go grab the Firefly soundtrack mod and find greater contentment.

I'm sorry, this mod fails to hit the mark as "music that fits really well into the RimWorld" IMHO.

This mod is exactly the kind of music mod I was looking for because it fits great with vanilla in tone, and as good or better in quality. It's like these songs were there the whole time.

Will it be a problem when Streamer uploads a play video that uses it to YouTube?

For this mod to work you have to convert all tracks to ogg format and remove the mp3 ones. I did it and now it is working

Hi ! Can you upload a B19 version on steam workshop ? For streamer's let's play and for facilitate its installation by the community.

@Weiner Spacehog from my experience mods with a lot of .dll or completely new stuff slow down game the most, so even though this mod is sizeable, it shouldn't slow down loading time drastically.

Thanks for the update! does any know whether the extra file size of music mods significantly increases initial load times?

Just downloaded earlier this evening and just like everyone else i must say it is pretty awesome. I can however help people find a place where there is alot of music that has the same feels. Check out a radio show called Hearts Of Space.

@Deyon Well, to be honest, it deosn't really fit into any specific genre. But, if you break down RimWorlds music, you can see that most of it have strong base line with some nice, soft synth and a bit of percussion/drums.
If you're into western-themed music, try to listen to Dark Country (Blues Saraceno for example)

can you tell me what kind of music this is? because i love the type of music rimworld has but cant find anything close to it, like the name of the theme, like "western" great music tho, i will add it to my games :)
