R.I.P. this mod. I liked it a lot. Whatever, I can play ME without it.

good to know, I'll look them up

Hi Tanya. I have an entire set of small-block doors of various styles & sizes on the Workshop :). I’m going to be updating them soon so that hopefully they’ll all work well on boats.

May I suggest you add doors too? you can recycle your existing meshes and textures to keep work and filesize down and they'd be super useful.

beautiful

Nice. I tried it out just now, ship is working pretty much normal and I can sail without a hitch, it does get a bit noisy when dragging at higher speeds, but that might just be the game itself.

Hey again @JeftireBlack -- I've cracked it! Thanks much for the reports and the description and the test boat. I found where & why the colliders were going insane, and have fixed it. (See video link above.) Your ships should behave now.

Hey Jetfire. I’ve reproduced it & am trying to figure why it’s doing it. There should be no reason for any phantom forces at all, yet they’re clearly there. I’ll keep looking! Thanks tons for your help & the ship.

Here's the ship: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1513925293 . Please note that this is not mine and I merely added the gunports and some flags to it so I take no credit for it, all credit belongs to Silvro

OK. I hope the redownload works. If it doesn't, maybe you could upload a blueprint of your ship and I can try testing a bit to see what's up. Thanks for your patience!

I will try to delete and redownload it, I have placed them with the reinforce part towards the outside so it opens outwards.

JetfireBlack -- After asking around, another person was able to make it do weird things. But only by placing the block inside out/backwards. When it's closed, the shiny metal bracings go facing outside, and the latch should be inside. Could that be part of the issue? I'm still searching.

Hey JetfireBlack. Hmmm, that bug should have gotten fixed a couple days ago when I reuploaded. I checked and double-checked that there were no more phantom physics collisions. I wonder if Steam maybe didn't update your mod correctly. Would you be willing to delete your mod manually and then redownload? You should be able to find it where your Steam mods are stored (on my computer it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\333950\1511231818). Meanwhile I'll test again on my end and ask if anyone else is having the same trouble still.

I would like to report a bug for this excellent mod: it seems that the gunports apply some sort of drag to the ship making it unable to move forwards (to the sides still works) and everytime I try to pull it around it also makes the wooden impact sounds the whole time until it stands still, however, when opening all gunports the ship behaves normally.

Yes, I was imagining a set of curved beams and planks, not just one block size. Like we have in workshop straight timber of 1 - 10 in length, we'd have several sets in curves of 60, 45, 33, 16,5 and 8,25 degrees. Thanks to the compound block feature in ME, they could get combined to amazing hull forms. True, this is an expert field to play with. I expect it to be rewarding, though. -

This is amazing! Just what we needed for our HMS Dauntless builds XD

Heya. I mean it’s possible but I think every single player will have different ideas about the ideal dimensions for their curves. It’s exactly the kind of mod that could snowball in a huge way & still not really satisfy people
Maison De Cornusiac Sep 14, 2018 @ 1:53pm
Hi Stori3D, what do you think, is it possible to create 'curved' timber and planks for more elegant naval architecture? - I am spreading this idea as much as I can in the last days! :)

Very nice!
