The mod has not been updated for about 4 years so I don't know why you'd suddenly start getting lags on loading now.
The model isn't hugely complex but does use fairly high resolution textures.
Lots of SPS stuff, we see a slight flicker of the textures on the model when the game first loads the texture (and creates its mipmaps) but I wouldn't say we see a lag spike.

Lag spikes are normally script related. This weapon uses a very basic bolt action script (I think it's CBAs but can't remember now) so perhaps that's now being affected by another mod you are using?

I would like to thank you for the hours and hours of fun I’ve had with this beautiful weapon mod. I look forward to every Saturday, because that’s the day I get to snipe in my favorite game, and for the past year or so, the AXMC you created has been our go-to SF sniper platform, officially retiring the L115A3.

Let me get straight to the point. Recently, we’ve noticed that this mod causes a significant lag spike when loading in. We suspect this may be due to a very complex model, high-resolution textures, or perhaps a combination of both. The search has begun for a replacement, but I still hold out hope that there’s a way to optimize the mod so that the ancient game that is Arma can better handle this high-fidelity masterpiece.

Do you have any thoughts, insights, or suggestions? I wonder if using lower-resolution textures might help alleviate the issue.

Thanks for the update I totally get you’re slammed, but please consider the AX50 when you get a spare minute, the Accuracy International AX50 is an absolute dream platform for long range play unique look, superb ergonomics, and ELR ballistics that’d sit somewhere between a TAC-50’s reach and a modern precision chassis it would be insanely popular with SPS players who love authentic extreme range sniping. Really appreciate all the work you’ve already put into SPS and would be absolutely stoked to see this added whenever you can squeeze it in Thanx S!.

@Steve Yes i know the standard and they are compatible each other. Ammos physical size is also different. Shouldn't the guns name be different if .308 ammo isn't available or are you planning to bring some love for .308 to the game, that would be very nice addition? Plz? ;)

7.62x51 is the NATO standard of .308. They are identical calibre - a bit like .223 and 5.56x45.
Technically, they are not identical. .308 has a higher max pressure than 7.62 and 5.56 has a higher max pressure than .223 but discounting this, they are interchangeable.

Is isnt available in Editor in the Weapons section, So i can't place it or use a rifle for a composition. Do you know how to bypass that ?

can you make some even shorter barrel variants for .300 & .308 version but with less damage, less range, less weight... etc, and also make them compatible with bipods & suppressors from other mods say cup, rhs... etc.

@Fercho - It wasn't a 'collection' it was a re-pack and re-upload to the Steam Workshop.
Publisher is now very explicit and makes you check a box to say you own the IP to anything you post. (Which you've clearly ignored.)

But let me be clear, I don't want to stop anyone using my mods. However additional uploading to the workshop not only violates my IP but also causes all mod makers massive headaches with maintenance of mods. Let's say that in the next A3 2.12 release, I need to fix some bugs that it causes - I can only control / fix those bugs for people that download directly from this page.

I would be delighted for you to continue to use this mod but via a collection, an A3 Launcher Preset or even by making a dummy mod where you set this mod to be a dependency through the workshop options.
These are all much better solutions than re-packing!

I should probably use more of the descriptive sections to make it more obvious but, for example, the following magazine
.338 LM 250gr Naturalis 10Rnd Mag
fires 250 grain Naturalis rounds.

i never saw that on there, i'll have to look again. I've been using the .338 with the berger rounds in an antistasi server with my friends and im loving it so far

Most of them state how many grains the rounds are. Obviously higher = heavier.

No. They do all behave differently but not necessarily representative of what you'd expect in reality. E.g. because there's no wind affecting rounds in Vanilla, lighter projectiles tend to be better at long range in Vanilla as they fly faster so have flatter trajectories. Where as in reality, heavier & slower round tend to be preferred for long range shooting as vertical deflection due to gravity is easier to predict than the effects of wind. (Which affect heavier projectiles less.)

Just select the scope you want in the arsenal...

There's no mechanic within the game that this mod touches that can do that so highly likely to be a clash with another mod.
Or a dodgy mouse.
Simply isn't possible to be done within a mod that's just inheriting characteristics from an existing rifle....

@Predator14 yes - it's still a Vanilla animation at the moment as has been stated many times already. I've not had time to add anything other than this.
Obviously I'd be delighted if someone with such a discerning eye as yourself would be prepared to make a better animation and donate it such that we can all enjoy your immense wisdom, talent and good taste....

Sounds like Steam has not updated your mods for you. (Sometimes it's quite slow to realise there's updates.)
If you right click on each of the SPS mods in the Arma3 launcher and choose 'repair' it should force them to update

The error was repeatable without running any other mods and this should be fixed now.
I think the M8541A+AN/PVS-27 is RHS not CUP. This should now be available on the rifle.

Thanks for bringing those bugs to my attention.

For info, SPS Equipment has some long range scopes with and without clip on night vision devices which can be added and removed with ACE3 self interactions.

Hey Steve, good mod! But...Ace compat addon breaks a mag icons and spam a error while u open mag page with a ur mode weapon in arsenal. Can u fix it?

For info, there's a PVS24-LR as part of SPS Equipment that you should be able to add/remove to/from the S&B scopes (with ACE interaction). Might tide you over until I get round to sorting the joint rails.
