must have mod, thank you
Rusty May 26, 2024 @ 1:40pm
I've had mods before where it's just a job to remove the overhead mountain. This mod makes it a bit more enjoyable, I have to take care not to kill my colonists, and plan around with columns to support & destroy gradually. It's nice

1.4 backward compatibility should be fixed now
🌦SunsetRain🌦 Apr 18, 2024 @ 8:18am
It works fine on 1.5 can confirm
Jaxe  [author] Apr 17, 2024 @ 9:48pm
Fix for 1.4 coming as soon as I can
Aaronthelemon Apr 17, 2024 @ 1:41pm
Yeah this mod is broken in 1.4. causes collapse constantly until you reload the save.
BOXIUMPL Apr 17, 2024 @ 10:18am
Don't know what happened but after the update this mod loaded on 1.4 somehow gets broken and it makes the rocks collapse all the time which stops the game from running. Does it work fine on 1.5?
🌦SunsetRain🌦 Apr 14, 2024 @ 10:28am
Hell yeah

1.5 update pls

1.5?
DreadedEntity Jul 26, 2023 @ 11:22am
This mod looks great; a vanilla-ish way to remove overheat mountains. Would be great if you could add options like % a collapse will get rid of the mountain, or maybe use a noise generator and simulate Z-level so each tile needs to collapse X times to get removed. That would be cool and make me feel like I am actually clearing out a huge mountain
Mysterius Dec 3, 2022 @ 11:29am
Thanks :)
Vraccas Oct 21, 2022 @ 11:52pm
Many thanks for the 1.4 update Jaxe!

I think it need to fall so just make sure what ever is under there is moved away
and i think it would be best to dig from one side of the mountain to the other side to best avoid getting a pawn crushed
Death by coughs Mar 18, 2022 @ 8:53pm
Wait, does this mean you have to have the roof fall down and harm your pawn/items/whatever before it counts as removable if on the edges? or can it just be removed like a normal roof if on the edge?
fealen Nov 25, 2021 @ 12:31am
Ooh man, i had 2 very annoying overhead tiles in a well.. barely a hill. This is a lifesaver :)
CryoChick Sep 6, 2021 @ 6:20pm
I definitely like this mod. interesting concept
Asekhan Aug 24, 2021 @ 6:35am
Could you maybe change it so it needs _two_ edges? the current condition makes it very easy to remove mountain roof, needing 2 edges would make it much harder but still doable, and still easy for "tiny mountain"
RedRam Aug 19, 2021 @ 11:20am
omg yes, perfect for removing those random tiny "mountains" that dot the place without it feeling cheap
JACK Aug 17, 2021 @ 1:04am
@SOMR agreed wholeheartedly, feels much more earned than the "delete the roof whenever" type mods (no shame to anyone who prefers those)
fatburner Aug 7, 2021 @ 4:09am
This is a nice balanced way to remove mountain roofs

Updated to v1.5:
- Added RimWorld 1.3 support
Aurelia Jul 26, 2021 @ 6:19pm
I've tested with 1.3, and it still works for me, in case any of you'll find that helpful.
Puppydoll Jul 25, 2021 @ 9:25pm
an update would be appreciated, yeah!
b0nes Jul 25, 2021 @ 8:59am
will this mod be updated for 1.3? no rush though!
Raptor Ex Seven Jun 8, 2021 @ 9:06pm
Absolutely brilliant. This should honestly be in the base game.
dumpster cat Feb 17, 2021 @ 10:52am
Well I'm not sure if this mod doesn't work anymore or if I just don't know how to use it. There is literally zero description on how to actually use this mod. As far as I can tell, in my game, there isn't a way to remove the overhead mountain even with this mod installed.
AdrianVaughan Jan 16, 2021 @ 11:11pm
This used to give me a icon , i have moved it to the top of my list , but its not going me the option now to remove :/ i dont know whats wrong
Arthur GC Nov 19, 2020 @ 3:23am
Exactly the mod I wanted! Thank you very much, infinite overhead mountain sucks and I didn't want to use cheap mods that treated them they were regular roofs.
Vythica Novern Oct 20, 2020 @ 1:41pm
can you release a older version that supports 1.0? people still play this version lol

This mod makes mining out tiny little hills way easier to manage and not tear my hair out over the three overhead mountain tiles in my way. Was wondering if this mod will be updated or if there is an alternative for this mod. thanks. (BTW the terraform mod I use isn't updated either)
NYKnicks502 Jul 9, 2020 @ 4:05pm
I'm a little confused on how to remove the overhead mountain. Do i have to place a column then remove it to collapse the mountain and it'll get rid of it, or am i doing it wrong.
Foedreyn Mar 11, 2020 @ 12:23am
Thank you for this! I had mined out an entire section in the new game hoping to rid myself of an infestation problem by removing the overhead mountain, i'll still get them due to the overhead mountain also farther north, but the spawning should be in my control if I remove the one by my base, because it's like 3 different ones connecting. So glad there is a solution to this problem and all my mining effort isn't in vein!

hope to see it updated for 1.1
Lurmey Dec 12, 2019 @ 12:59am
Scratch my previous comment. I've just tried it, and it doesn't seem to work. Doesn't seem to break anything or cause a desync, but doesn't work nonetheless.
Lurmey Dec 12, 2019 @ 12:45am
Does this work with Multiplayer?
Daezz0r Nov 3, 2019 @ 3:55am
awesome! just stumbled upon this one by reviewing your collection, ...and that mountain next to my base really annoys me.. looks like it'll be gone in a few days :D
fatburner Apr 24, 2019 @ 3:17am
thanks this looks like what i was looking for. just being able to remove it like normal roof seemed unbalanced. gonna check it out
Battle Puppet Apr 6, 2019 @ 7:34am
So the idea is to mine back into the mountain from a roofed edge until it collapses at the 7th tile right? I need to make room for a spaceship!
K10 Jan 23, 2019 @ 1:13pm
Would love if there was a way to add overhead mountain.
Gecko Nov 19, 2018 @ 9:07am
I would be very interested in the same thing @Uthred mentioned. Didn't find any other mod and hoping for this feature in this mod.
Uthred Oct 27, 2018 @ 8:37pm
Is there a mod or can you make a mod that adds a overhead mountain? I'm building a mountain base and found a section thats not roofed, was wondering if you can help me with this. :)
Jaxe  [author] Sep 29, 2018 @ 7:32pm
Updated to v1.1
- Fixed overhead mountain check only applying to 3 sides
- Fixed null reference when collapsing at map's edge
Skarne Sep 29, 2018 @ 4:07pm
there is a way of collapsing overhead mountains but it requires mining the entire mountain entirely. this mod is a better way of doing this but just wanted to put that out
Jaxe  [author] Sep 6, 2018 @ 8:56pm
Yes that is intention for this mod. In vanilla there is no way to get rid of overhead mountain, and while there are other mods that enable removing overhead mountains manually like normal roofs, this mod restricts it to only edges of mountains so you could technically remove a whole mountain as long as you start from the edge and work inwards
