Note: To make this work, after attaching the dispenser's "dispenserRoot" to the screen's "dispenserRoot." Select ONLY the screen model's "dispenserRoot" and move the zero slider to the right.

To: teamfortress.mp4 and anyone else who is having trouble with this model.

It works just fine for me. It's perfect! And all you have to do is attach it to "dispenserRoot" in the unknown section of the dispenser model and screen model. It's really easy. Once they're attached all you have to do then is move the "Zero" slider all the way to the right and it will move the screen into place. Make sure that you've attached the screen to the "dispenserRoot" bone and not the "rootTransform" bone. The "dispenserRoot" bone is located under the unknown section for both the dispenser and the screen. I hope this helps you, teamfortress.mp4!:steamhappy:

Simple fix: Don't connect bones
Pumkin  [author] Apr 2, 2020 @ 8:59am
Used to work a long time ago. Haven't touched it in years, I don't know why it wouldn't work apart from there being different dispenser models
Ravnos Apr 1, 2020 @ 9:57pm
Doesn't work, when connecting the bones it simply goes under the dispenser.

Can't check it right now, but it worked last time I checked and nothing was changed since then.
Lord Cockswain Jul 27, 2017 @ 11:32am
Didn't work for me. :\
Didn't exist when I imported it into new model, and it was just a transparent rectangle in the add menu.
Pumkin  [author] Jan 23, 2017 @ 7:54am
It works on the original model, as that's what was used to create it. However make sure you're using the right model as I think there are 2 sets of models. They look the same but something is different.

Look around, I don't remember at this point.

is there a particular dispenser model that this needs to work on? it doesn't appear to work on the original TF model

i found a cool trick if you want the screen to glow in the dark, just make it glow like it has crits (easy guide to make crits http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=654601519)

where is it?
MOCOLONI Apr 21, 2016 @ 12:06pm
Hopefully it's a problem of mine, others should have/receive the fixed version.
Pumkin  [author] Apr 21, 2016 @ 12:05pm
All I did was change the shaders and if yours works from your own edits it shouldn't really matter.
MOCOLONI Apr 21, 2016 @ 12:04pm
Well, Steam displayed a progress bar for like 2 seconds but no logs were saved. The files didn't change, though.
MOCOLONI Apr 21, 2016 @ 11:59am
Yeah, I've received the update. Thanks!
Pumkin  [author] Apr 21, 2016 @ 11:58am
Updated. Hopefully it won't break everything.
MOCOLONI Apr 21, 2016 @ 11:42am
Forgot to mention that it happens with the light you can add, not maplights.
Pumkin  [author] Apr 21, 2016 @ 11:30am
I didn't know there was a problem with the lighting. It's fine, I know the difference between the shaders myself, but I didn't when I first uploaded this. It had a lot more problems actually with the screens being visible through walls and whatnot. I will update it shortly.
MOCOLONI Apr 21, 2016 @ 11:12am
Hey. I modified the .vmt's to fix a problem with the lighting. You (the author(s)) should make them all UnlitGeneric and remove all the Phong- and Bloom-related values so it will prevent the screen from having a high bloom while the Dispenser gets lighter. It's pretty annoying actually since that high bloom doesn't seem to appear in TF2 and you can't light the building the way you want without covering almost the entire screen. If you want, I can show you a comparison between VertexLitGeneric and UnlitGeneric so you'll see what I mean. Still thank you a bunch for this submission. It's a shame that Valve haven't added things like these screens nor the crit/minicrit glowing effects to the SFM's TF2 yet.
Pumkin  [author] Apr 11, 2016 @ 10:39am
Thanks
Box-O-Soldier Apr 11, 2016 @ 10:27am
Right now the screens are in Workshop folder instead of Buildables. BTW these are nicely done with the bone for the arrow n'all :)
Pumkin  [author] Apr 11, 2016 @ 10:04am
I don't know. Maybe valve changed how things are stored because this worked perfectly fine when it was uploaded 3 years ago.
Box-O-Soldier Apr 11, 2016 @ 6:54am
The screens are not in the ,,Buildables" section, but in WORKSHOP section, even though they're called buildables\dispenser_screen.mdl (if you meant them to be there from the begginning, you should at least mention it :\)
