Can you confirm that this mod only applies to faction leaders and no other characters?

Putbye1 Sep 8, 2018 @ 7:20pm
Do you know if there's any way to get rid of the zeal requirement in declaring your Heirs?

Sorry Czlowiek haven't been on in a while been busy.
I made the reduced child mortality mod you asked for.

If you're using 4 turns per year for grand campaign

If you're using vanilla turns per year

can you make a version that does not remove the mortality but reduces it by like half or 3/4th? No child limit then and no boost to child being born chance. Im asking because a lot of people are using 4 turn per year mod and it gives you lots of babies but all of them die since they have 4 times the number of opportunietes to die. You end up with family tree filled with dead babies.
Bullseye  [author] Aug 24, 2018 @ 10:54am
Yes I believe it is.
ohnoa12345 Aug 23, 2018 @ 6:08pm
is this save game compatible?
Rhalius Aug 20, 2018 @ 1:20pm
Looks nice, could you maybe make a mod that maybe lets children either start older or age faster for those of us that use more turns per year? Personally I use 24 turns per year so my generals won't die of old age so soon and might last the entire campaign.
wolphyx Aug 20, 2018 @ 8:46am
Great mod, btw I found my children never die once I sent them off to study, it's a trick to get them from age 6 to 16 unharmed. But of course this is not necessary anymore with this mod.
PJ The Terrible Aug 19, 2018 @ 4:16pm
its ok i found out what it was i had not updated to the new update great mod
Bullseye  [author] Aug 19, 2018 @ 4:06pm
PJ try verifying the integrity of your game cache.

Click library, click games, right click rome 2,click properties, click local files and click verify integrity of game cache.

If that doesn't work start disabling mods until you figure out which one is causing it.

If I understand correctly, you say there's a 20% chance per turn a child will be born after 3-4 turns from a marriage. This drops to 15% after 1 child, 10% after 2, 5% after 3, with 4 max.

How about 30%, 15% after 1 child, 10% after 2, 5% after 3?

And woah, no wonder people are complaining, 8% is a very low survival rate.
It makes sense to assume the children of Noble families were well looked-after, didn't live in poverty, and had access to the best wise-women / healers etc...

Yes a 50% survival rate sounds good instead.

Gives us players more chance to see our offspring grow and thrive, plus keeps the "tragedy" factor intact. I wait for others to comment..... and thanks for this mod, you are quick off the mark to spot it. ;)
Bullseye  [author] Aug 18, 2018 @ 1:55pm
I'll make another mod for you guys.

What percentages would you like?

Something like 50% or 75% survival rate?

Or do you want me to make a mod with the historical percentages?
Bullseye  [author] Aug 18, 2018 @ 1:44pm
Looking at the vanilla tables the chances for a child being born are 20 percent with the chances dropping 5 percent per child.

The vanilla chance for a child surviving until becoming an adult is 8%.
They have adult defined as 14-16 years old.

So chances of birth are low and less than 10% will survive to the age of 16.

If you do the math their numbers are way off.

With percentages like that the worlds population would be in severe decline which we know did not happen.
Roaring Fire Aug 18, 2018 @ 12:24pm
Could there be an option to just decrease mortality to like 1/10 chances or less other than just totally removing it?
Brigantes Celt Aug 18, 2018 @ 11:51am
Just played an Iceni campaign, and I had a daughter die at age 11.
I've seen comments by others, that child mortality is far too common.

Just out of interest, what are the percentage chances that a new child is born, and the chance that a child will die / turn ? Maybe it dpeends on a few factors, then is a random percentage chance.

I am wondering also, if you can do another mod that REDUCES child mortality, but doesn't remove it (with slightly increased birthrate). Medical care was still "primitive" back then, and it did happen. It's a game feature that adds tragedy, and I think it should be kept in, but I agree... should be lowered.

Dope mod. Appreciate the effort.

Can you make this mid just to show the changes and not all the vanilla entries included please?
Jorvach Aug 15, 2018 @ 1:36am
Excellent! I was upset about all the kids dying young, 'cause I'd have to resort to adoption (which, I know, is historical and such, but still). Plus, y'know. The tragedy of a child's death and all that.

Thank you!
