Encountered a weird bug: in cities other than the one with the Writers' Guild, the Great Writer points from fishing boats generate Settlers instead of Great Writers.

@Doctor G, Wampum could be considered a form of writing, if you want that prestine realism.

don't be a ♥♥♥♥ to mod authors who are just trying to improve your experience of the game. if you don't like their mod, move along, maybe give some helpful advice, but don't attempt to childishly patronize them for no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason.
TomNoSocks Aug 16, 2018 @ 4:28pm
seriously dude, it holds the same impact. one of the oldest 'great works of writing' quoted in civ v is a work of homer. who didn't actually exist. whose works were recorded mainly orally until the byzantine era, maybe 1000-1500 years after their composition. so are you gonna complain that the most influential literary figure in human history is listed as a great writer despite the fact that the people who composed his poems probably didn't know how to read?
TomNoSocks Aug 16, 2018 @ 4:27pm
you know @Doctor G is right! there is a difference between writing and speaking duh, why didn't you make it give great orator points, huh? great tribal spokesperson points? maybe great public speaker points? oh yeah, because no one cares about the difference between written language and spoken language in the civ community, none of the native american civs in the base game had any form of written language, so why should they be able to generate great writers? you gonna go to the game developers and complain? what about to the many historians consulted when creating the game? you gonna ♥♥♥♥ with them?

The Great Writer points are intended to reflect the Wampanoag usage of wampum to assist in the memorization of oral histories and legends.
