My fellow Kerbalnaughts, I have seen a few people commenting about the issue with the Kermes Fuelling not working correctly and halting progress.

I have found a simple work around, although it will result in having to start from scratch, but can confirm it works.

You need to edit the mission, find on the mission flowchart where it says to build the Kaijang Khen, and edit the Launch Point to Kerbal Space Centre instead of the other place. Also, where it say to check distance, change the vessel from >>> Kermes to just Kermes.

and if you have bad luck, that your escape trajectory is just about behind kerbin, does engines wont even work... kermes is useless. my ship has 14k delta V nuclear engines.

dock with kermes? straight line? my KAIJANG KHEN, stood still 0.2 meters next to kermes for about 15 minutes, i used the enginer to change the fuel tanks becouse there is no docking port.. no problem.. but then EXTREAM LET DOWN... mission did not count towards completion...

refuel kermes does not work... and next time use nuclear engines pls... this thing can burn forever to get to duna.

Hmm, Maybe it is just me but refueling the Kermes task seems broken. I generated the preloaded ship and launched it from KSC since the suggested launch site was not an option. Got a green check for constructing the KAIJANG KHEN. Launched and docked with the Kermes and got nothing. In the mission it says "Distance TO: Vessel" and "Vessel: Unknown"

Any tips?

How can i dock with the KERMES to complete the mission of refuel the KERMES. I can not find the place to dock!! Help me please.

I got a bug, when I spawned Kermes Supply then restarted or reseted mission and played again I had a fundus broken and I can't spawn it.

How i can play these custom missions?

On my first playthrough I didn't take the RTG, both didn't understand the objective and thought it was dead. This is still possible without it.

There is a extendable dockingport on the Kermes, look around the center of the vessel...

No bad gamestoppers in this mission, take your time (hehe) and figure it out.

Stuffed up the KAIJANG KHEN launch hitting the Dunatian atmostphere at 4.8Km/s but still got the Rover to the KRES V launch site and intersepted the KERMES without circularisation. Couple of loading from the quicksaves but got it done.

Not a bad mission returned in roughly 2 years and 57 days

Amazingly done!! I never thought rovers could give such headaches :'D
Surprisingly I started the mission not knowing at all there was a "cinematographic reference" (yes, I'm a bit out of date), and watched the movie in the middle of the mission... and everything became clear at once. Prefered playing the game though, funnier hehe

Most fun fan content I've ever played! Took me abt a week of long evenings 2 work it out and complete the mission. I have 100s of h in Kerbal (mostly directly through CKAN) and I found the mission challenging and engaging, esp.the rover frankensteining

I LOVED the chllng w/electricity b4 the RTG!
U r a rascal 4 making the rover uphill trek, which (thanks to Kraken) is extremely hard to do in one go. I realised after about 15km that I could've taken Curiosity as an autopilot 'trailer', as it has a core for MechJeb For All (did on another leg earlier)
The pre-builds req'd proc.fairings, but sth misaligned a bit and removed the outer shells. Simple fix, moved them a few ticks with tool2. No idea how many more days it'd take me to build craft with that much delta V and such big tolerance for error, as the ones you provided. Thanks!

Thank you for your feedback, took me quite a while to set this up...

In the cinematic, the rover stretch goes about a whopping 500 miles (Or 2000 km?), and i thought well about the adaption and i have decided to reduce the driving part to a easy Kerbal size.

It is still way below the 3.2 scale, driving on Duna is a significant counterweight to the sometimes unforgiving and chickenskin provoking tasks around Kerbin and the red planet made of tomato icecream. Yeah, its actually tastes like tomato.

Depending on how and which way the player decides to go, levels of contemplating about driving on Duna may reach from challenged to °!*(><)%*#?, and given Bob`s hilarious driving skills, every overly self esteemed hobby trucker looses his/her final dignity.

Let`s roll!

The amount of detail in this mission is amazing, this is really high quality and very well done.

But i hate driving rovers. So much. Even more so over very long distances.... But I guess it's part of the story its based on and taking it out would have been wrong. Still very fun overall

Kaijan Khen launch goes from Jiukuan launchsite... , and the big supply rocket launch happens from the KSC.

Hope this clears things up, some infos on the screen are given by the software, might be distractive at some points.

Hope you finish this adventure, the mission is probably way larger than you think at the beginning.

By far the most awesome Mission I have ever played. All the attention to detail, wow just WOW! I played for probably 8 hours or so and only ran into one problem. It was the refuel of KERMES XenonGas from Chang, there were no docking ports on KERMES to match up with Chang. I made the rendezvous and got the credit so I was able to continue but had to edit the file for the fuel transfer. Did I miss something or did a part fall victim to the Kracken? Anyway, thank you x 1000! Amazing fun time with your mission!!!

Bob is still stuck on Duna. And he is a botanist. He likes potatoes and grows them relentlessly in his habitat. And he cannot swim, so battleships are probably out of his engineering scope. Maybe try something like harvesters, you know them big green machines sporting deeres...
