I assume since the lost can be turned off it's possible, and I recall it being asked some years back, but was it ever disclosed?
Note. what I have realised is, it only seems to crash using laser/magnetic weapons however as stated in the desc v1.06
- Rebuilt to work with the Legacy Pack update.
- Added a safety check for a repeating error, "game should crash less often" doesn't sound very consoling.

Luckily, I only get it consistently when there's a lot of characters on the field.
But I'll try that out if/when it starts up again.
In this example, the Lasgun is a weapon that uses the beam weapon effect and was the weapon most consistently causing the crash for me so I replaced it with the Blaster Bolts from the Star Wars Separatist Armoury Mod as follows:
+PROJECTILE_REPLACEMENT=(ACCEPTOR_TEMPLATE=Lasgun, DONOR_TEMPLATE=WP_E5RifleBX)
I would recommend switching out any weapons you commonly use with the beam effect into something else to reduce crashes (I don't remember the last one I've had since making this change.)

Thanks, @Domnul Inginer for the viable solution. It worked and some other mods that I didn't even realise I had problems with have inadvertently been fixed also.
I managed to fix it ( with the help of reddit). You must delete the config folder under Documents > My Games > XCOM2 WarOfTheChosen > XComGame. After that you need to restart the game a couple of times without mods enabled, after doing that you need to restart a couple of times with mods enabled and it should work. This worked for me and like 3 other people that helped me.
This worked for me.
I also needed to download the highlander dlc mod too
This mod is a gem and makes the xcom battles incredibly intense and fun!
@KingPazzaz
I play with Reconceal after Battle and have no problem with this one.
i already set all the settings to low and it still crashing on heavy firefight lol.
My PC: "My time has come"
Why can't anything be simple and thought ahead of time!
"This is why we can't have nice things"
I've seen youtubers actually make this work, but then again it could be Legacy for all I know!
Worst part of doing this is that Xcom is not a file for me! I have make it be one and would rather not go through it, I ain't tech savy. Sure I found a way, but there are no mods for me to do anything with.
I have my mods on the game but not the files! If anything I would ask the mod creator to just add every gun mod in existence to the files and update them regulery, but even then that would not work... My rant has gone on long enough, some of us are upset, some of as are happy, at the end of the day not everyone's going to get what they want.
