Only Europe is meant to be geographically correct because if the New World was placed in its relative proper position, there would be almost none of it fitting on the map to play, but it is an important aspect of European history and I want that to be a part of it. As for BNW, most of it was ready a while ago, but I took a long break from my play-testing of it. It'll be ready soon.:Uranium:

Can I just point out that North America is way farther North than it should be?
LOBO Nov 10, 2013 @ 1:23pm
Warcat did you make BNW version already?
Borri Sep 22, 2013 @ 12:08pm
its a great map yes, but its locked in 'marathon time meaning everything takes 50 turns to build, how can i change this?
donnaelfstrum Aug 31, 2013 @ 4:06am
i just dowloded it i love it!!!!!!!!!! (:
Warcat  [author] Jun 29, 2013 @ 1:35pm
It starts from the ancient era and borders develop from there, because the start positions are correct, many borders will be realistic to various periods of time, but certainly not all.
SPESS Jun 29, 2013 @ 1:14pm
Does it include correct borders, etc?
Warcat  [author] Jun 26, 2013 @ 6:38pm
Finished updating this map for G&K, starting to get things set up for BNW. Unfortunately that means losing some civs from the map. Songhai, Persia and Mongolia are definitely out to make room for Portugal, Morrocco, Poland and Venice. That leaves two spots for The Huns, Babylon, Assyria, Arabia. I possibly could even drop the Byzantines, as they're really just a Rome/Greece combination who shares a capital location with the Ottomans.

Should you spawn in the Americas, you'll have a great advantage should you want to go for a domination victory.
Warcat  [author] Jun 9, 2013 @ 9:38pm
Only 22 Civs can go on the map, not including city states.
Easy Peasy Doggo Squeezy Jun 9, 2013 @ 3:26pm
can u have as many civs as u want?
Warcat  [author] Jun 5, 2013 @ 1:50pm
Been working on a scenario based off of this map. Sadly, while I have managed to add City-States (which I might add to future versions of this one), I absolutely can not get a working Civilization in to the game.
Don Parmesan Jun 5, 2013 @ 1:41pm
yay, we can duke out ww1, ww2, cold, war and the war against terrorism in one map!
Warcat  [author] Jun 5, 2013 @ 1:38pm
If rumours about an addition of Venice are true than I may have a hard choice to make on dropping a Civ unless Firaxis adds to the amount of playable Civs per map.
pgillfish Jun 4, 2013 @ 5:17pm
Great map though.
pgillfish Jun 4, 2013 @ 5:04pm
The update butten doesn't show up. Any ideas?
Warcat  [author] Jun 2, 2013 @ 8:42pm
Have you updated to the most recent version? It'll be there in map types as Civilizations of Europe.
pgillfish Jun 2, 2013 @ 7:35am
Where is the map image? I subed but it wont show up.
General Kael May 30, 2013 @ 7:21pm
nice i had no idea it was only ten mile thats crazy i just always assumed larger very good map
Warcat  [author] May 29, 2013 @ 7:50pm
Really looking forward to playing that area in BNW. The addition of Morrocco and Portugal will really make the Iberian much more interesting. And it will curb Spain's ability to dominate the western edge of the map as they often do.
Warcat  [author] May 29, 2013 @ 7:47pm
I actually really like how narrow that area is, both from a gameplay standpoint (control it and you control the Gates of the Mediterranean) and for matching the true geography(Straits of Gibraltar are only 10 miles wide)
General Kael May 28, 2013 @ 6:20pm
only thing i would change is give me alittle more space at the spainish african inlet but is fun for control
Warcat  [author] May 27, 2013 @ 9:26am
Not sure about that, I haven't really done much with MP, but ill look into it. Also, make sure your're using the latest version if you can't find the map. It should be working fine now in MODS>SINGLE PLAYER> SET UP A NEW GAME>MAP TYPES>CIVILIZATIONS OF EUROPE.
Byzantine May 27, 2013 @ 4:05am
is there any way to get this on multiplayer or is it only single player?
Hail to the king baby May 26, 2013 @ 12:04am
I DOWNLOADED THE MOD AND INSTALLED IT BUT IS THE MAP INGAME!!!!
GODTRASH May 25, 2013 @ 9:28pm
think you could upload the map one the civ 5 forums, I would love to play around with the scenarios with this
Balder May 25, 2013 @ 10:26am
Looking forward to it! Great map by the way!
Warcat  [author] May 25, 2013 @ 9:24am
When I make it for BNW I'll be dropping Songhai and Arabia to make room for the new civs, so I'll likely move the focus a bit to the north.
Balder May 25, 2013 @ 8:25am
If you ever were to make a new version, consider keeping Norway, Sweden and Finland, as they are all a part of Europe.
Warcat  [author] May 25, 2013 @ 5:06am
The areas on the west side were made with proper geography in mind, but they are primarily there for gameplay purposes. At this scale there isn't really a good way to place them in their proper relative positions without making the Atlantic almost non existant or have Prince Edward Island the only place in the new world. Really the east edge of the map is the more important one to me that I wouldn't want to lose any of. If I had more room I'd love to add in the area of Iran, but I'm pretty happy with where the balance is for now.
GODTRASH May 24, 2013 @ 10:37pm
I think it's to fit in the historicsl 13 colonies of colonial america
laura craft May 24, 2013 @ 7:29pm
I find it weird how the Iberian Peninsula is lower than the Floridian Peninsula...
Xx_BL4k__SP0Rk_BLAZ3__Xx May 24, 2013 @ 6:40pm
put in Murica
Warcat  [author] May 24, 2013 @ 11:31am
FIXED! Sorry for those of you who had trouble getting it to work (I'm really just starting to learn all the intricacies of Civ modding), but it should be working will no problems now. Still don't know how it will react to those without G&K or the two DLC civs, I may make a base game version eventually.
[DVC] Perfect Blackout May 24, 2013 @ 10:09am
This map looks amazing. I can't wait to try it out!
Dhomochevsky May 23, 2013 @ 7:27pm
Could you make a vanilla version of this? I do not have any DLC, so it would be nice if I could get this without downloading anything.
Volkcore May 23, 2013 @ 1:12pm
Are you going to make a non God's and King's expantion pack map of this?
jmurph2254 May 23, 2013 @ 12:30pm
cant find your mod after i download it. its not on my maps list
Akinaba May 23, 2013 @ 11:00am
Wired, but after downloading and enabling your mod it asksm whether I want to start a single player game and there is nowhere to find your map. What could be the problem?
Deefun May 23, 2013 @ 10:46am
the alps look a little to much like they are in a straight line
Warcat  [author] May 23, 2013 @ 3:47am
On North America I did most of it by memory of the geography, then filled in with rivers and other adjustments by referencing Google maps. As for why it's not showing up for some, I really don't know why, perhaps using mods that are incompatible or wrong DLC, but It seems to be working for most. The art/geography/history side of my modding ability is a lot stronger than the programming/troubleshooting side.
Jin May 23, 2013 @ 2:07am
@shootin putin, just subscribe. you'll see. :P
Hail to the king baby May 23, 2013 @ 12:48am

RIP big guy May 22, 2013 @ 5:32pm
Did you reference a map of the eastern coast of North America when you built this?
and South American too
