Wow...this was bigger (and a longer playtime) than I thought. Steam deck HATED some parts, but I guess that's a good thing.
Pros:
- Story included
- Wide, open space to cover
- Multiple acts(?) within the mod
- Upgrade system (I'm half surprised Hat Kid didn't go mermaid fantasy mode)
- New movement options within the mod (and a separate mod for usage in the vanilla game)
Cons:
- Some areas/acts may prove challenging to casual players (big tower felt like Celeste. sparse checkpoints did not help)
- Framerate may have issues, especially with the not-quite-subcon-i-forgot-the-name Amber (something) Forest.
- Describes and portrays usage of recreational drugs, if that's a problem in your case. Unskippable if you need to finish New Eden (but the mod's main story can be completed regardless of if you finish New Eden).
- Acts are only reachable through their entry points around the map

if you check the release date, this is one of my earlier mods, released 5 years ago. So it's only natural that it's a product of its time and the experience that I had back then. I assure you, it had many second drafts, but people create things to be the best they can with the skills they possess at that particular time. Despite it's flaws, it's enjoyable as a mod and is not meant to be a perfect match for hat in time. I am glad you like my more recent projects though! Breathing sea is a core part of my journey as a developer and I think for that it deserves some respect. Rumbi Factory and Vanessa's Curse would not exist without it!

I respect the ambition and this is the closest we have to a proper sequel but it just doesn't quite land. It feels like a bunch of random mods stitched together rather than a single coherent one. I'm disappointed because I know from some of your other mods that you can some of the finest levels in the workshop, some worthy of Creator DLC, but this one needed a second draft so to speak.

you unfortunately cannot reset a mod's progress on a save file. The only way is using a new save file. I recommend grabbing a 100% save from speed running resources

How the heck am I supposed to destroy the cages around the two trapped tears? The watching thing is literally pointing to things that don't exist...

If it's any consolation, you can hit the bell and it should give you a streamer towards any remaining tickets. I'm fairly certain they're all in the main map.

My goodness. I kept putting off playing this mod for so long. I kept playing others and taking a break but my golly. I finally got around to playing this and my goodness I'm so glad I did. This mod is so perfect in everyway. The levels, the atmosphere, the world, the little jokes. This just like the main game kept me smiling all the way through

I subscribed to The Breathing Sea, The Conductor's Village, and New Hat City. They downloaded and installed but I can't figure out where to play them.

I have a few hat mods and QoL mods which all show in the mod menu but not the level mods.

When I sit at the TV on the ship its blank except for (Y) Browse Workshop.

Any tips?

I think theres one under water near the fishing town in a chest, and another in a chest over at the sand castle. I think another near the tower in a chest on top of a high island, near a house
