Yeah, I tried ToT, but couldn't make it work at all - on single-player though, which it officially don't support, so I was just thinking it won't work for me as its intended for server play, or I made some noob mistake. I'll keep my paws off of that one for now. I mean, I been playing/modding CE only since march, got lots to learn still. If I find a setup-tutorial for ToT that also deals with SP, I may give it another go.

Maybe I do give the devkit a go though, there's tons of small stuff I'd really love to fiddle with, like potion weights and such - only need to shovel free some memory on my drive and kick myself to stop playing for a few days to learn that thing, no small ask of an old semi-Luddite, hihi.

Thanks for the encouragement though, cheers & have a nice evening^^.

@iriemk Also it seems that ToT! Custom borrowed from or picked up from or some such from where RA Aesthetics ended. It requires some first time set up to have it work, but it is more lightweight than QOL and as RA Aesthetics, just hangs out in the background for the most part.
Ozel  [author] May 20 @ 4:39am
@iriemk Did some checking. I'm a liar. The mod I was thinking of was RA Aethetics. (Which is now gone. ) The warpaints exisit-ish, but the textures are separted by body part and not spawnable as such. On reviewing: Fighters -> WP Vitality, Dancers -> WP Determination w/o face or hand paint. The white versions of these and modular versions (no face paint) cannot be spawned in game.

You would need to create a custom warpaint item as a mod to get the warpaints you want in this case. I havent created a warpaint in the dev kit, but it seems simple enough. Might be something to try your hand at.
iriemk May 20 @ 4:15am
Hmmm...just remembered something. I was playing around with IQOL last week and messed around with skin tones, not having realized IQOL actually makes edits to the body file. When I kicked it out again, all my night-black amazons & my MC were pale white-skinned and had lost their paints.

So the paints must exist as some seperate entity, sort of like the vanilla warpaints. Question is:
Are they actual usable items or just some line of code a dev can slap on any character template to give it that "Amazon"-look when placing such a character with the devkit?

Aaargh, I really hate that CE's console is so limited, compared the huge command list from the beth games like Fallout. Bet I'd find a way to steal it, if CE had those kinda options to mess with the game.
iriemk May 20 @ 4:00am
Now that's a detailed reply^^! And I don't think it's just re-colored vanilla warpaints the amazons got. At least the fighters have something unique, it has these "paint-on thigh warmers" for lack of a better description. Archers & performers also got something unique, I think.

What I was wondering is if these exist in the game files as warpaint scrolls that -theoretically- could be spawned via admin tab (if one knows the name) and then applied to player char. Or if amazons/manhunters are designed with that paint as part of their skin texture from the bat.

And I'm honestly not a big fan of huge package mods like Fashionist, that add tons of stuff I don't want/need. I only played CE for about 2 months now, but had my share of troubles with such huge overhauls when modding FO4 whiles back. So I've given those mods a wide berth. Do you know if Fashionist changes bodies, like IQOL does, or is it just more options?
Ozel  [author] May 19 @ 8:14pm
@Iriemek Hmmm... I am not super familiar with the current NPCs. I logged in and spawned some amazons and all the ones I spawned in are wearing the agility warpaint but in white. The separate colors of warpaint you see are not available in the base game. For some reason I think all surge npcs have white warpaints. That said, when I actively play I often use Fashionist. If you use Fashionist you may not need to use this mod, but they do not conflict. Fashionist is a heavy mod (meaning it has a LOT going on) but it does allow for some very nuanced editing of warpaints and their colors which is nice.

I hope this helps. If I am wrong on what warpaint you are looking for, let me know what NPC has it and I can see what I can muster from my brain. :meadowrabbit: Otherwise, I suggest Fashionist for full warpaint editing. (it is also just a really great mod for getting thralls looking good... or it least it always was when I actively played... :meadowfox:)
iriemk May 19 @ 1:57pm
@Ozel: You seem like the guy to ask this question, given you made this work:

Is there any way to get at the special warpaints certain NPCs -like purge Amazons- are using? Admin, or console commands or whatever, I don't care. I'd really love those paints for my "cannibal princess" MC, but haven't found any pertinent info anywhere on how to obtain or cheat them in for myself.
Monster G Dogg Apr 24 @ 2:09pm
Mod is particularly useful during the Jhebbal Sag hunt since the only thing you can wear in those boss fights is the war paints for both you and your thralls.
Ozel  [author] Apr 23 @ 3:11pm
"Ok wow. I had no idea you could apply warpaint to a thrall. Well this mod would be a necessity then. I can barely keep up with my own. lol" - That is the original reason I made the mod. :meadowrabbit:
GamingWithADD Apr 23 @ 2:59pm
"Just tested all day long and War Paint I applied to a thrall never vanished. So if there was an issue before it's been fixed."

Re-complied for the update. Let me know if you encounter issues.
Purity42 Jan 31 @ 1:37pm
Does this work for mod added warpaints too?
Spliff Ridah Mar 15, 2024 @ 10:44am
The Mod does exactliy the oposite!
I installed it and since then all my Paints are gone and I cant use any new one!
Thanks 4 nothing...
Ihmislehma Jun 18, 2023 @ 11:38pm
Oooo convenient! I had no idea sloughing fluid existed xD
Onto my load this goes :>
Ozel  [author] Jun 18, 2023 @ 7:45pm
You can remove paint with the in game item sloughing fluid. Or you can use a new paint to overwrite the old one. :bunnyinablanket:
Ihmislehma Jun 18, 2023 @ 12:07am
Out of curiosity, would there be a way to change the paint, should I want to? Specifically on thralls, since I could just die to remove mine.
Ozel  [author] Apr 19, 2023 @ 5:12am
No worries. I should probably toss that in the mod description since it gets asked every now and then. :meadowrabbit:
Willow Rivers Apr 18, 2023 @ 7:14pm
Oops I mis understood what the mod did. Permanent warpaint I thought it persisted thru death.

It is working then lol. Sorry.
Ozel  [author] Apr 14, 2023 @ 10:49am
Nope. It still works. All my thralls still rock their glorious paint fresh as when we painted in months ago. :cat_cool:

Can you describe what you are observing? Keep in mind. You loose warpaints on death.
Willow Rivers Apr 14, 2023 @ 2:23am
No longer works
TakeItEes Jan 8, 2023 @ 2:02pm
bless you so much for this. its a godsend that you made this!! I have so many warpaints, but the fact that they last so little time has made it no point for me to make em. This is amazing.
Rowdy-03 Dec 16, 2022 @ 7:48pm
DO NOT do an internet picture search for sloughing fluid. Ughh and i just ate dinner. :/
Ozel  [author] Dec 14, 2022 @ 7:27pm
@Keeper It affects any paint that you put on. I think they are all called warpaint or decorative warpaint unless they have changed the semantics. "The paint ya paint yerself with." :meadowrabbit: To remove the paint you can use sloughing fluid or die. :tigerinablanket:
Keeper Dec 14, 2022 @ 5:00pm
Does this apply to all the paints or just the warpaint? Also is there a way to remove the paint and go back to no paint?
Rowdy-03 Dec 12, 2022 @ 7:46pm
Sweet! I am about to try it soon myself.
Ozel  [author] Dec 12, 2022 @ 10:28am
All my thralls are still wearing their paint from weeks ago. :meadowrabbit: So, yes, all is still fully operational.
Rowdy-03 Dec 11, 2022 @ 9:23pm
Do any of the current users know if this is works with the latest release of the game? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the updates! I know you don't owe us anything so I appreciate you taking the time to maintain this mod.

Re-complied and working. :cat_cool:
Purple Pony 117 Sep 13, 2022 @ 7:25am
This mod doesn't work as of the 9/13/22 patch
muscip Sep 3, 2022 @ 4:14am
Ozel  [author] Sep 2, 2022 @ 10:51am
Ran a recompile so that the mod is now stamped for 3.0. No changes or updates needed. As usual, older version of the mod are hosted on the Nexus in case you need them. :cat_cool:
Ozel  [author] Sep 1, 2022 @ 3:23pm
Testing this now. I don't expect any issues following the patch, but just letting folks now I am checking in any case. :lunar2019piginablanket: *(It takes me an hour to ensure the decay thing works)*
jonnyafrica May 31, 2022 @ 2:35pm
@ Ozel That's great, thanks. Yea, I only use it for cosmetic and never seen the buff, so good to know. Thanks again.
Ozel  [author] May 31, 2022 @ 2:16pm
@jonnyafrica If you only use decorative warpaints on players, then no. We use both mods on our server because this mod stops buff warpaint from decaying and stops decay of warpaint on thralls. If I recall with RA customization it stamps the warpaint look, not the buff. - Hope that makes sense. :tigerinablanket:
jonnyafrica May 30, 2022 @ 10:17pm
Do you need this mod if you add warpaint via RA:Character Custimization? Thanks
Yesh Feb 8, 2022 @ 5:03pm
works great
muscip Jan 20, 2022 @ 12:25pm
works
Ozel  [author] Oct 2, 2021 @ 7:22am
@Willow Rivers It still works. I use it. Do you have other mods installed that might affect equipped items. Also, the warpaint is dropped on death. This mod does not change that. It just removes the decay from the warpaint.
Willow Rivers Oct 2, 2021 @ 4:44am
No longer works. Will this be updated? Stopped working in one of the latest updates.
Lerch Addams Jun 18, 2021 @ 12:54pm
Subscribed. Well done and thank you.
Monario Jun 16, 2021 @ 2:47am
Love the mod! Works like a charm!
Meiton May 13, 2021 @ 5:02am
thank you very much
Ozel  [author] May 12, 2021 @ 6:34am
Done, tested, and uploaded. This is now fixed. Sorry for the delay. This mod has managed to survive a great many updates without needing to be rebuilt because the blueprint it edits is rarely changed by Funcom. I'll try to be more on the ball in the future. - Thank you for your patience. :oxinablanket:
Ozel  [author] May 12, 2021 @ 5:53am
I will rebuild this mod this morning to see if that fixes the issue. If you need an older version of the mod so that you can join your server, you can download the older version from Nexus.

Ozel  [author] May 12, 2021 @ 5:41am
I'll see if a mod rebuilt fixes the issue. Maybe they changed something in the background. Sorry for the delay in fix.
Meiton May 12, 2021 @ 3:20am
I am having the same issue as DjengoPengo and Jay the Writer, paint won't apply, journey step won't complete and the warpaint is consumed
Jay The Writer May 8, 2021 @ 10:37pm
Had the same issue as DjengoPengo, couldn't apply the paint it gets consumed but won't show on the body or complete the journey step which was weird, but if i would uninstall the mod put on a paint it would appear then reinstall the mod it would keep that paint from decaying but still couldn't apply a new one. i got zero clue why
