@kyro2024 I haven't played in years, but from what I can remember is you add powder (needs to be in inventory), place down an item as a loose object, slide it down the barrel, then head to the fuse at the back and light it. It can be a little hard to actually light the fuse as its hit-box is a little off if I remember correctly.

Ah, alright, thanks. It's not exactly I 'want' smokeless, it just causes alot of lag when using the cannons, but I can cope with it. Thanks for the amazing work on the mods!

Okay, I'm only getting this problem from the cannon mods. Maybe unsubing and resubing may fix this issue. I will respond back with my outcome. Wish me luck

mods don't update anymore on dedicated servers, they must be manually updated. The 99% is likely because a mod is outdated

Is there a problem with Multiplayer at the moment? My friend just keeps loading at 99% as well as my self when I try to join his game with this mod.

still says its missing and when I load a world with the mod, it does not get past this mod when downloading mods.

maybe something went wrong while updating the mod?
Try removing the mod folder here: steamapps\workshop\content\333950\1411037313
then restart steam or start a game with the mod and see if it downloads it

Wild idea: Fire siphons. You know, like the ones the Byzantinians used to spray Greek fire on their foes.
We may not be able to burn wooden structures as of now, but players can already burn!

bronze cannons will be muzzle loaded, but I might add some breach loaded variants later.
They shoot custom coded projectiles. You don't need to put them in the barrel. You just load them like the normal cannons and then they are ready to fire.
The custom projectiles will not phase through grids and can do things like penetrate several blocks.
The whole point of these new cannons is to allow naval battles on moving ships.
I will also add some creative only auto reloading cannons so you can just steer the ship and shoot without having to reload the guns.

sounds solid, what does the bronze cannon do over the regular if i may ask? also as for ammo, could you add some heavy armour piercing(i dont mean a 16 in shell or anything of the sort) but something heavy that does not shatter on impact and carries with it a lot of kinetic energy? maybe make it explosive with a selectable delayed fuse? my ships are getting mighty THICC and sinking them with the amount of big guns they have is a shit ton of work even if they are stationary and not firing back. Hell it takes a long time to sink them with the x10 projectile thrower.

production on bronze cannons has started (they are really not a lot of work) and I am already almost finished. The coding is already 80% done after only half a day working on it.
I won't go too advanced with survival recipes and cannon variants. But I will add more in the future.
Question: What type of projectiles would you want to see added to the mod? Right now I will add cannonball, grapeshot, chain shot. and some specialty projectiles like flaming projectile, explosive projectile.

On the far day on which you are going to make small bronze guns, could you please also make some breech loading ones? You know, the ones that used mug-shaped chambers. So I can finally build a proper da Vinci-esque tank.

Can also confirm that the elevation crankbox just phases through movable grids now, I never had clang problems doing it before so I'd love to see it working again!

@peaceman can you make powder charge to block? And if it inserted or fall in cannon, cannon will be charged. This thing can help to make automatic reloading.

They don't work on grids attached by catch block. On such grids, the plane of the elevation crank just phases through the blocks of the grid its subgrid is attached to.

they should work, but you should not use them. Physics can go very wrong if you do.

@Arnox pretty sure this mod is not going to receive any new content, at least not for the forseeable future. It's being maintained, but not expanded. Peaceman seems quite busy, and there isn't much more that needs to be added to this mod.

Is it possible to build a back-loaded cannon with shells? I know its not medieval but at least steampunk... It would be super convenient and made tanks possible... please :steamsad:

What the cannon does and looks like when it self-destructs? For me it's just has different explosion and the model doesn't chance at all.

Also when did you remove the broken cannon model? I just found an use for it as a pipe (with the hole hidden by something)

I got some ideas for sieging/defense stuff. this is a long list so no need to read it

1. a block that deals heavy damage that gets multiplied by its speed upon impact. That would work as battering ram's head or extremely-large meat grinder's teeth. Or just as a obstacle in a parkour course.

2. Cannon with a magazine and a cannon ball with powder stored in a clip for that cannon. Also an unrealistic cannon that doesn't drop it's ball to the ground when tilted down.

3. smaller springs for making small traps or mainly ballistas.

4. A block that works like the rope control system but instead with mouse input and a chair that locks the character's view to itself.

I know that battering rams are possible, but my game crashes when I hit something too hard with an object connected directly to a spring.

5. Also the crossbow defenders mod could have an update to use the new stuff you have made (cannons, mortals, aircraft machine guns).

In the save file you can also give yourself the research if you still don't have it unlocked.

OK. Loaded World. Changed to Creative. Saved. Loaded game. Quest was still active, but Bombard elements now displayed as ready to go. Forged a Medium Reinforced Wheel. Went to my locomotive blueprint and installed the one wheel. Locomotive came out of blueprint mode. On blueprint control, the blueprint no longer showed as active even though only one of four wheels installed. Saved game. Restarted and changed back to Survival. Now Quest still shows as active. The one wheel is in my character inventory. Bombard elements no longer enabled. Locomotive still seems functional. Strange. But at least you gave me a workaround for my problem. Thank you.
