Done that - only mod it won;t work with is this and the tributaries version. No idea why it should suddenly fail, but with no mods on but that it lets me get to the screen, pick a nation - and then kicks me

I've had a couple of my friends test it and we have not encountered any problems. Are ya'll running any other mods that affect the tech trees? That is the only thing I changed in the July 11th update.

I just tested it right now with a new campaign and I don't have any problems. However it might be because I changed the tech trees and so now they're incompatible with an earlier save. If that's the case I'm very sorry about that, I didn't believe that would happen based on my initial testing of the changes. Could you do me a favor and try starting a new campaign and tell me if there are still problems? Also try deleting the mod and re-downloading, because I uploaded SEVERAL versions on July 11th trying to fix the tech trees so it might not have updated too.

Hello everyone, Pontus, Illyria, and Macedon are now playable. I've also added a submod that gives the puppet states the same military units as the ERE or WRE. The link for the submod is in the description now. Enjoy!

Thanks to David for advice on how to make more of the tributary states playable. I'm very close to finishing another "faction group" in the faction selection screen that will allow Pontus, Illyria, and Macedon to be playable. Should be released very soon!

faction group, the culture can stay roman, you just need to copy paste the roman faction group

Macedon is not playable because only 7 factions will fit in the selection screen. However this weekend I'm going to look into the possibility of adding another culture group so there's room for Pontus, Macedon, and Illyria.

its possible, watch the faction_group and faction_to_factiongrouping tables in db, their names are something like that. You can edit them.

Yeah I considered adding them to eastern culture group but then I decided I want all roman factions to be the same roman culture with the roman faction traits. However I'm gonna look into the possibility of adding a whole other culture in the selection screen and having essentially two identical roman cultures in the faction selection screen. I need to find out if thats possible.

Unfortunately Macedonia and Illyria cannot be playable. I had done that originally, but then realized the faction selection screen was not large enough to fit more than 7 factions under the Roman culture menu.

A strange idea could only leave the WRE with the italian province, and you need to sustain the empire that way by supporting your puppet states. If a puppet state betrays you than it will feel like a real civil war.

But good mod by the way :) this is just my suggestion.

For those that are interested, I'm going to make an exact duplicate of this mod except with the tributary state relationship rather than the client state relationship. I originally chose to do the client state despite the war declaration glitch in the base game because I felt it was more historically accurate that breaking the client state treaty with the WRE or ERE would instantly be seen as a declaration of war. Immediate war does not occur when renouncing a tributary state treaty, but I understand the frustration with the fellow client states declaring war on you. Stay tuned and hopefully I will have the tributary state version out soon.

That's not a glitch, I explained that in the description. Unfortunately, Attila was never designed to have puppet states be human players. The exact same thing happens in the vanilla game when you play as the Lakhmids with zero mods on. Several people have complained to CA about it but they've never tried to fix it which is really disappointing.
