It unintentionally LOOKS like the opening mission from BI's "Steel Pegasus" campaign. But don't worry: plenty different. Clearly designed by someone with experience in multiplayer scenarios/scripting. Also a very extensive, yet clear briefing, pictures and everything.

There's no respawn, but because the AI numbers are not ridiculous, and AIS medical is forgiving, with multiple human players, should be easy to medium difficulty.

A lot of detail went into this. And, at least in my single-player LAN server test, the FPS never dropped. Your mileage may vary when, for instance, you have people connecting to the same server thousands of kilometers apart, each loading large modsets.

Very much recommended for friend groups who like narrative cooperative missions.

it's a great scenario but it is way to lag because of the smoke it lags massively for me

Over the last few days, I've replayed all the SABRE missions after a break of several years. They are excellent - still some of the very best missions, challenging and lots of fun to do. Thanks for all the work you put into making them. Cheers!

Outstanding mission! If anyone's having difficulty with destroying the arty, nearby crates have satchel charges in them, 3 of which will take out a Scorcher. Really fun mission to play through. One thing I'd like would be an option to wait until dark to start the mission, for extra sneaky SF fun.

It would surely be easier, but I personally don't mind it like it is. I like having a bit of a challenge, taking out a 60+ tonne heavily armored vehicle isn't supposed to be easy. We have literally all weapons available from virtual arsenal + those "explosive rich" crates right next to armor, so getting the right tools for the job isn't an issue.

Would it be easier if I added an action to the heavy artillery pieces that would destroy the artillery pieces after a few seconds as if you placed charges on it or do you like having to destroy them manually with explosives? Just want to know because I'm close to rolling out an update for this mission in the next couple days and could add that feature.

Yeah, those artillery pieces can take A LOT. Nearby supply crates come in handy, use them to basically spam explosives around that armor (focus on rear). Two satchel charges behind the back + some explosive charges around should do the trick. I guess it would help getting underneath, but they're too low to the ground.

Anyways, it was a great mission like all others from SABRE, instantly one of my favourites!
Decided to mess around a bit - left the team behind, went in solo (stealth marksman loadout). Broke some personal records in the process: 11 vehicle kills, 198 infantry kills! (If anyone's wondering, there were reverts ... lots of reverts xD)

Unfortunately, that is not a bug. The artillery piece, the M4 Scorcher, is very well armored. It even says so on the Arma wiki. In fact, it's almost comically so. It takes a lot of firepower to destroy one. A combination of satchel charges under the rear followed by a rocket or two in the rear or side should be enough. I placed supply crates with extra rockets and explosive charges near the arty pieces to hopefully combat this problem.

so i was wondering if it was a bug or something. when i try to destroy the first artilery, it cant be destroyed, i use satchel charge rpg and stuff but still cant destroy it. please help

I believe the issue with ACE not working is because the older version of Psycho's revive conflicts with it. I'm currently in the process of updating all my missions with the newest version of his revive script. I just updated SABRE: Commandos a few hours ago with it.

That is most likely because this was my first and currently the only mission of mine that uses dynamic simulation to enhance performance. My guess is that the units were not being simulated at the time of the mortar strike because you were far away from them. However, they still absorbed the full amount of damage in their non-simulated state. So when you finally got to them you were shooting already dead enemies that had died being frozen in time if that makes sense.

Having fun with this - thanks for all your hard work. I did find an issue where, on approaching the 1st artillery site and the Comms Tower, the defenders were "Stuck". I could walk right up to them and shoot them 10x and they wouldn't die. FWIW, I softened up the targets with a mortar strike first, so maybe I messed up a trigger or something. Looking forward to finishing this, and the rest of your missions.

If you are not playing in multiplayer, then you should be able to save the mission manually as much as you want. If you can't save, then it means you have the option disabled in your difficulty settings. That sohuld help with you not having to replay the mission if something goes wrong. I'm going to add autosaves to all my missions in the future! In regards to the alternate boat extraction, I would say that it seems like a good idea that I may implement in the future or I could have a NATO gunship come in as an escort with the extraction helicopter to help even the odds.

Very, very good mission! Fascinating! I had a lot of fun playing it! Combat, music, long mission.. everything by my taste! First aid mod is also interesting! On the end, when i needed to defent the outpost, i come late to the chopper, so he went destroyed... my bad of course! So, i needed to replay the mission! Maybe you could set up a boat by the shore, in the case that my helicopter went destroyed, so that, for example, let's be one of the options to get out.. It just my opinion! In any case, fighting on the end was so good! Outnumbered, with little ammunition... I made my own Alamo! Anyway, thank you so much for this one! I'll check your other missions... I can only imagine how good would be a campaign like this! ;-) Keep working like this!

Psycho's Revive should detect if ACE is running and shut its initialization process down. I haven't updated to the newest version of AIS because I literally just found out that Psycho updated the revive system 8 days ago. I will work on updating my missions with that. However, the fact that I did not design this mission with ACE in mind could be the reason things with ACE just don't work properly. It happened with an OPTRE mission I made as well where ACE just wasn't working for people. Sorry you experienced this problem!

Parameters say it can autodetect ACE and disable the revive system, yet ingame, for some reason, ACE interact and all of that stuff is blocked. So we can't even use ACE medical system to do basic healing or anything else.
