I always start from the cockpit, and then rotors, basic layouts. After that you can see the center of mass, It should be right under the main rotor, keep that in mind. then start putting fuel/passenger/cargo compartment around the center.So weights won't shift too much. Set up engine and controls. A basic Helo should be good to go.
