It's kind-of compatible with FU. Only issue i've seen is a duplicate race with a missing portrait in the character creation. This is likely because FU adds its own Fenerox race.

@Pixus If you do go through on making an "update" to this, please update the dialogue that other Fenerox on planets say to you. Interacting with another Fenerox and them saying "Not hairy" or "Not fenerox" is weird.

@Salomon it changes the existing "fenerox" race and implements player functionality. mods that change fenerox appearance also change player fenerox. i forgot what better ships even is at this point, but the ships here are implemented in the same way as all the other ships so im sure it's possible.

For the record I agree that the dialogue is cringe, and that's on me. I think I wrote most of it at the time.

@Pixus You could make your own mod that requires this one to be installed and use json patch files to change everything you want to. But if you are planning on making a lot of changes and just want to make an altered copy, that's fine. I can't speak for Yecats but this was made a long time ago, and I don't really care how it is used at this point.

@Pixus in the worst case scenario you don't hear from them at all, you could just make an "part 2" mod, so to speak. Which extends and patches the content of this mod.

While I don't expect a response, I have thought about going over dialogue, both regular and inspection, and making them more like the traditional Fenerox speech. In fact, I already have a loose prototype but I'm not sure about releasing it right now.

I do wish someday that someone will go over the Fenerox inspection dialogue. I've always enjoyed their cute 2-word sentence patterns, it is both endearing and slightly terrifying if you happen to be on the receiving end of an angry Fenerox with a rocket spear

I tried to make it compatible with retexture mods. It's finicky because it's based on a "priority" value, so it becomes a game of finding the right value to overwrite certain things and not overwrite others. As for the dialogue, it's custom, but it's kind of bad (we made this 4 years ago and i was trying to hard to be funny).

Ok, so i just realized you specifically said inspect dialogue. No, because neither of us thought that was important and there are like 1000 objects or something. It's just the default/human inspection dialogue.

Ah, oki~ Does this have inspect dialogue when you play as a Fenerox? Curious, since "custom dialogue" is somewhat vague, also would this be compatible with Fenerox retexture mods? Such as the fluffy tails mod?

Can confirm the invisible slot with FU which is actually a second fenerox race slot (both are the same). However none of them have the FU racial bonuses.

Just tested your mod and I already love it! What you did with the model is really good as the old one looked ugly (their faces looked squashed) and the fact that it overwrite the Fu Fenerox is also great.
The only problem I have is with the emoticon as they still use the old ones and the muzzle seems unanimated.

@caljar22 Yes, the recent fix for was the problem, but i have fixed this for No Muzzle.

Is it possible that this fix is preventing the No Muzzle for Cosmic Fenerox from working? It seems that it just recently stopped.

@tideofocean Thanks for pointing this out to me. This was originally done because the mod used to have a built in character extender. Priority was set to -1 so that is someone had another character extender that would overwrite the built in one. I have since removed the built in extender as it was causing problems for many people and most people had their own extender anyway, but I forgot to change the priority back to normal. Again thank you for actually taking the time to unpack the mod and figure out why there was a problem. I have now fixed this and updated it.

Comrade Cyman, in your metadata_ you have // "priority" : -1, // line, so please change it to // "priority" : 1, // and it will be compatible with FU. So you will have original ship, ai, nice muzzle, etc. (Oh, and there are still some problems with BYOS)

@Chikenator They are just "fenerox" in game. Cosmic Fenerox is simply a title for the mod.

@Cyman are you aware that the original fenerox race is incorporated into FU. is your race actually called cosmc fenerox in game cause if it's just fenerox i can't keep it apart from the other one.
