When will this mod be completed?

One thing people forget is the owner of said weapons and armor trained to stand the added weight or to use the weapon correctly. Young boys started training with an English long bow when they were 11 or 12 to be able to use it correctly by the time they were a man age 18.
people also dont reaiise this changes your body the bone on the right side shoulder would be thicker than the left to allow the the use of said bow over time. Armor was worn outside of battle to get used to the extra weight so they could were it in battle fighting longer before tiredness would come into play. most battles didnt last that long and a long battle looks silly outside of the fight since both men can hardly swing there weapons now. A standard Roman soldier would carry a 60 to 100 pd pack beside his armor and weapon on long marches. Those men were stronger and hardier than most men in modern times because we dont work and walk all day.

As for weapons aside from the very few everything weighs as much as tanks people. Two-handed weapons seemed to weigh only about 13 lbs on average, one-handed about 4 lbs. Heavier forms of course not being for combat but more for that nice look over fireplace. Of course weight varied heavily on where it was made. Not everyone made weapons and armour the same exact way.
Now for the weight unit that Skyrim goes by... on the top of my head I can't remember seeing any form of unit but games like Skyrim usually goes by lbs. Unless they start saying exactly what unit it's in I have to assume it is lbs.
The weights for armour in Skyrim seem fine for the most part to me, the two-handed weapons on the other hand(Now that I've looked into weights) seem to weigh more then they really should. Anyway I'm not trying to tell you how make your mod, by all means make it exactly how you want to. I'm just throwing out what I've gathered on it. Maybe aiding you in some way or form. So good luck!

Everyone tells you differently. Even places that feel they were lighter will have different weights for the same weapon from the same area and people that feel the weapons are heavier are the same way. Seems everyone is just guessing at the weights of these items(For whatever the reason). I understand that people back then weren't as strong or large as we are now but a 3 pound greatsword would snap in half on impact.

After doing my own bit of research:
Plate armour weighed anywhere from 41-110 lbs depending on where the armor itself came from. The heavier forms either being for jousting or simple decor, but on average plate armour for the field weighed about 55 lbs. Other forms of armour such as mail or lighter armours weighed... less.

As for armour, a 'complete' suit of plate armour made from well-tempered steel would weigh around 20 kg (44 pounds). As for plate armour, it could way anywhere from 20kg to 35kg (or 44 to 75 lbs). SKYRIM has plate armour at 59 (whatever unit that’s in).
Would people prefer the weight in kg or lbs? (1kg = 2.2lbs)

Sorry, was away for work, should have an update by next week. Massive misconception about the weight of swords and armour. The difference being anyone can pick up a 12lbs Great-Sword, but the trick was to swing it continuously. I believe the 'swords are heavy' idea is from the Medieval era, when the art of sword balance wasn't quite perfected, giving the illusion of it being heavy. As an example, a German GreatSword from the late 15th century was:
Length: 1473 mm (58 inches)
Blade: 1066 mm (41.9 inches)
Weight: 2720 g (5.9 lbs)
The larger +1800mm ones were mainly for ceremonial purposes.
Sometimes people forget that swords are honed and not solid hunks of metal. Pick up a weight barbell and try swinging that around for a few hours, not very practical.

Weapons were actually that heavy during that time. A great sword wasn't something anyone could just pick up and swing. Armors are also heavier then Skyrim made them. A suit of Full Plate weighed about 100 lbs. The "real" swords and armors people sell nowadays aren't actually real weights or anything(Just there to get people to buy). An Irish Greatsword a relative had was extremely heavy and my dad who was in the milatary and is a constuction worker had to actually try to lift it. I couldn't tell you the exact weights but Skyrim seems pretty accurate with weapons at least. Some weapons like the Elven weapons should be lighter then they have it and the Dwarven equipments should be heavier. Anyway, just tossing in what I know about it. :x Good luck with making the mod either way.
