Cross posting over here, based on your posted mod order, you likely did not follow the manual installation process for the unofficial code patch, which would have given you two unofficial code patch mods in your mod order instead of one. Please check that. Also Diverse Specials goes above 5XCPC in your mod order.

I had the pleasure of installing and playing this last week. This has been pc crack. I have stayed up till 4 am twice this week and said to myself… I have two more hours in me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. It’s been a while since I played a game this intoxicating. I am now setting alarms to get me to pause. I’m now sleeping at 4 am and working back to normal.

This mod has been updated with some assets that were missing from the previous version. In order to get them, it's necessary to re-run the installer for this mod according to the instructions.

thank you Spud for updating this game and keeping it alive. Shame the developers cut and run because MOO:CTS is a diamond in the rough, full-fledged mod support would have made it legendary.

Thank you for explaining that. Kind of sad honestly. This game would be amazing if you were able to add races and ships like other space based 4x games.

Keep up the good work, it's your mods along with WhatisSol, that make this game so much fun to still play.

It's essentially a code issue. The 3d assets are all wrapped into Unity asset bundles and could not be exposed without access to the source code.

Unfortunately Wargaming completely abandoned support for this game long ago. None of the original developers have worked on the game for more than 6 years. They completely ghosted the fanbase for the game and have not responded to a single question in that time. I can say with certainty they would not be willing to do any work to make this kind of modding possible.

Is this something we could do a petition for and send it to the developer? I realize that the game is going to be 8 years old this year so they may not even have the desire to revisit that at all.

Can confirm that .sh file has wrong filename, but anyone on Linux can fix that in approx 5 seconds anyway, so who cares? :)

FYI your Linux installer is broken, it's looking for 'Custom 5X Assets.zip' instead of 'Custom 5X and DSMP Assets.zip'

Under your "Installation instructions:" at bullet #3, shouldn't the user type "1" (for install) instead of 2 (for exit)?

@Blacksoul Running the Java installer again should fix the issue. Like with UCP, this is necessary any time this mod updates (though I have no plans for further updates to this mod at this point).

Thanks for this. I just noticed in the most recent update the icon for nucleonic charges and antimatter charges is showing up blank in the tech tree in their respective nodes. If you hover over the technology node the icon shows up in the tech list, but its not displayed in the node itself. There are no gameplay issues though.

Just wanted to pass it along if you do a future update at some point. The rest of it looks really good, and otherwise looks and runs fine.

This mod changes 2D icons only. The 3D map models cannot be changed.

The alternate hull designs are only for 5X and only work with its added hull types. The new icons show up in the fleet select menu.

The DSMP icons are basically just for the diverse specials added by that mod.

I ran the installer and disabled the mod and i cant get the alt ships designs to show in the world map. Im using only DSMP. I tried with DSMP that has 5x compatibility and didn't work. Then i tried the regular DSMP and still the designs wouldn't show. Any tips or ideas that can fix this?

This mod has been updated with the latest package installer by WhatIsSol and the missing mouse-over icons for the new tech app icons. You will need to run the installer again to see the new icons.

In the instructions is says:
(manual installation):
1. Extract the Custom 5X Assets.zip file.
2. Navigate to the Master of Orion install folder, and go to MasterOfOrion_Data\StreamingAssets.
3. Copy the assets folder that was extracted from the .zip file into the StreamingAssets folder, merging it with the existing assets folder.
4. Move the Custom 5X Assets folder to the Mods folder and activate the mod in game. Make sure the mod is below 5X in the mods menu in game.

There is no "Custom 5X Assets" folder.

This mod will only have an effect if you use 5X or DSMP. If you only want it for DSMP, it's fine, but then you should disable this mod in the mod menu (you still have to run the installer).

Nice little mod, started using it lately and like the extra polish it adds to the game.

I noticed what might be a small bug. When looking in the tech tree, it looks like the custom icons display on the tech nodes, but when you hover the cursor over the node and a little bubble appears giving a few more details on the techs available, the new icons don’t show up in the bubble, just the text. Advanced fusion is a good example.

Not sure if you are still working on this, but just wanted to pass it along.

Love this mod. If you would expose the icons for diplomacy that are for trade deal, research treaty, open borders, etc., I could recolor them to match the schemes of the graphic design. Maybe even improve them a bit. Just a thought. If you do it, you could send me the PNGs you want redone and I'll do them.

Correct. DSMP assumes you have the assets installed and is already configured to use them (which means they're blank for anyone who doesn't install this). The only configuration files in this mod are to have 5X use the assets as well, and this is why it requires only 5X.

I have done now, that seems to have solved the problem, although I now have a new problem with battles, if a pirate attacks my frigate on guard mode I can only get the auto resolve option and the game seem to get stuck in a loop.

Is this mod up to date, I'm not seeing the icon for several ship types? Some of them when I'm manufacturing ships and others just when I click on them in the galaxy map.

It's not possible. Those galaxies aren't set up to allow wormholes.

Hey Spud, slightly off topic of this mod, but instead of PMing you:

Do you know of a way to configure the vanilla ModelledGalaxyData.yaml that would allow wormholes to appear in a Spiral or Cluster galaxy types? I've tried quite a few settings by mimicking the minBlackHoles/allowBlackHoles values from Circle into the individual sector headings for Spiral, but it always hangs the galaxy generator.

Instead of wasting hours brute force testing, I figured I'd just ask you first :) I'm trying to get it where you can have unstable warp points on the map as normal, but also have a slight chance of a wormhole existing as well.
