Report a translation problem
(I haven't played Stellaris for ages, and I don't have the time to exhaustively test all of my mods every time there's a new patch - especially as they usually work fine. But if someone comes to me with an actual bug report, I'll do what I can.)
Anyway, I am planning to update all of my mods for v2.2. However, since I'm not playing Stellaris that much at the moment (CK2's Holy Fury is too good!), it might take a day or two. Also, since I'm not playtesting them myself, there may be some subtle bugs in there.
Still - thanks for your report, I'll look into it.
If you want to immediately give yourself all levels of the tech, I made a testing event ("event aps16.999" in the console).
Works fine.
I'm not entirely an expert on programming and diagnosing problems as Stellaris has come up as a new passion for me so i haven't had time to delve into the coding. however i have faviourited all of my stellaris mods I have added in order for my freind to easily find them so that both of us can play in the same game together.
in saying that if you want to check them out, i beleive the mod with the 1080p UI and the downsized ship moddle mods if installed might help with your problem as I installed all my mods in one big sweep. I think (not sure if i'm correct) that they could have been the reason I saw the extra ascention perks as soon as I loaded up a new game.
Hope This Helps
I just reread your comment, and it's possible you already did exactly what I said (ie - started stellaris with only this mod enabled). If so, I apologise - and I really don't know what's going on.
When I was making the mod, I had the same difficulty with the ascension perk slots not showing up. There were several independent causes:
- You have to have both the setting in defines and you also have to alter the traditions view.
- The mod folder name must start with a letter (not a number).
- The filenames of the modified defines file and the modified traditions view are important.
It might help to look at your Stellaris/logs/error.log file - maybe there are relevant lines in there that will give a hint about your problem. But if it's simply that the game isn't loading the text files for some reason (or if they're being loaded and then overwritten by the base game and/or another mod) then the error.log won't be very helpful.
Yes, it's working on my machine. Also, judging by JazzCat_4TW's comment, it was working on his/her machine too - after the most recent update.
Perhaps you have a mod conflict? Try loading Stellaris with only this mod enabled. If that works, then you've got another mod that's conflicting (see tech info above - anything that alters the traditions view and/or specific number of ascension perk slots is incompatible).
If it doesn't work even if it's the only mod you've got enabled, well, first I'll be very surprised and then I'll start seriously looking into what's going on. It'd be helpful if you can provide the exact steps you go through, so I can try to reproduce te issue.
I then re-subscribed to all mods and redownloaded them.
At that point I saw them all back again, and selected the mod, newly downloaded.
This mod still didn't work after all that. Not sure what the problem is. Does it work on your machine(s)?
I went into the save games, and tried editing through Notepad++, and it says I HAVE the 16 slots, but it doesn't show them...?
What is the attribute name that I could edit to manually give myself the 16 slots?
Steam workshop is notorious for sometimes not downloading / updating mods. Sometimes it helps to launch the game and wait in either the launcher or main menu before quitting.
If you're still having trouble, you can download the latest version of the mod manually, here [github.com]. (Unzip into your [username]\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod\ folder.)
