Nah mate, Wh3 got to be too much of an undertaking for me. Too much to translate maps over, and a fair bit to make new ones as well. I'm afraid this is as far as my map making goes.

Do you mean you're making a map? I would look up the GCCM discord for help. It's not an extremely busy discord with everyone waiting for game 3, but there are a lot of resources and helpful people on there.

This map is very good! thank you very much!I also want to edit map,so may I ask you a question? If I edit map, how can I make the tower in the map can attack? and how can I make the archers stand on the wall? and without any bug including AI(I mean, no matter how long I play,AI will not become more stupid than the official battlefield map of CA,)? Do I need to write some programs?

It's compatible, but this mod won't add it to campaign. GCCM is really just a collaboration of map makers all dumping their maps into one mod, with a core team managing updates. It gets very complicated though and I don't believe this map is currently implemented into it.

So long story short, this map isn't presently in campaign anywhere, to my knowledge.

Ayy. Yeah that's something I wish was possible, too. As for the GCCM stuff, that could just be something waiting for an update. I've had to go through a number of old maps like these and try and update them for GCCM, and since the addition of forts a while back, have even considered remaking this one to better work as one.

These things take a lot of time, though, and I've very little to spare. So it may not be a part of GCCM currently, and I don't know when it will be.

I just played the map and wow it's awesome. I think it would be really cool if the attackers could only attack the side theyre coming from. As in, if they come from Bretonnia they can only attack the big wall, if the come from the empire they attack the small wall

I get the unfortified version of the mod in GCCM but when I load siege helmgart it's just the default map. Do I need to download this one seperately? Are there compatibility issus with GCCM?

Look to make sure you've got the mod activated before you launch the game, and then it should be directly under Helmgart- Empire and have the same name as the mod title.

Because Helmgart's a fort now and not a settlement, it was removed from GCCM. I was going to just leave it until the next game, but that seems a while off. So I imagine I'll get to sprucing this one up shortly.

Thanks. That's been my thought too for a while. With the inevitable changes that will come with the final installment, it just seems like a better strategy to wait a while until I have all the tools available. There's a lot going on right now anyway, plenty to keep a mountain recluse busy until the promised days come.

Its awesome that you are back man, but frankly, you probably are better off waiting with the larger projects until the next and final game (even tho ots gonna be like year and a half). As you say, it would be a shame to do it twice

That's more my fault than anything. I've been out of mapping for a while (busy with other things.)
I plan to come back and improve this map and the others I've made, but I'm not sure if I'll wait for the next update or even the next game. Some of what I want to do would be too much effort to do twice.

Thanks for the continued love though, everyone. It's always a good feeling when someone likes something you put an unreasonable amount of time into.

I never understood why WH towns always have these 40-100 meter tall giant-ass walls and buildings around, on the outside, and a tiny 10 m wall in the middle, that is supposed to "protect" the town from capturing.
Why not just simply add a giant wall and make your enemies use giant ladders...

yeah, you'll just need this mod then. It doesn't replace anything, just adds it to custom battles. GCCM would also do the same thing, but replaces it in campaign, only it'll also take them a while to get it up and running with all the new regions and the fact that there's a HUGE backlog of map fixes to go through

I'm not entirely sure what you're after; are you looking for the campaign's Helmgart to still be this one, even as a fort?

Sorry for off-top, but I don`t know where to ask about this. Is it possible to unlock new forts in custom battles, and keep 2 versions of Helmgart? Maybe there is a mod, which unlocks all special campaign/FFA levels?

This one won't need one, but we'll see what's needed for the campaign. It's likely we can just use it for whatever fort's in Axe Bight Pass, but only time will tell

Can you make a version of this map where theres only a spawn zone on the large wall side? If the AI is unwilling to randomnize which side it hits it defeates the point of the large wall so why not force it to hit that side by only having a spawn zone there.

you can still use it without it being updated but yes, I'll update it anyway. I've been changing hard drives and working on a few projects lately so I haven't yet gotten around to it. You can use all of the versions together, they're separate maps, but if you want it in the campaign grab GCCM, since we've since added it there.

Hi. Do you still track your mod? I really would like to play it, but game warns me it's outdated. It's still safe using it however, correct? And one more thing: Can I use it alongside with ruined version, or are they incompatible? Thanks for the answer in advance.

Interesting. I'll look into that as soon as possible. As for the largest wall. I've gotten the AI to attack the gate on the pass side and the walls on the other, but they deploy against whatever seems most advantageous and that means they always favor the smaller one.

I'm thinking I'll see if I can make versions of it that alter attacker deployment based on race for the campaign but otherwise the AI doesn't seem to handle any other attempted fixes very well. I will look at it though.

played the map, really cool, two problems I see:

1.) AI will never siege the section with the huge walls, no matter how many armies you give them. I don't blame you for this since CA's AI is kinda shitty but hope one day this can be fixed?

2.) Enemy Lord and Hero were stuck right at my gate, never moving or attacking the gate.

I actually don't know if it is. I think in the next few days I'll be buffing up the AI on the unfortified versions, so if these versions aren't added already then they will be alongside those patches.
