Sorry for such a long text. I care a lot for this game, and I want it to be most awesome DOTA ever, although I am only able to make it better by creating hopefully not to awful items :)
@Indelta Those pieces may seem to be black, however they are tinted to be purple in their shadows which relate nice to color of Lich clothes, Also there is a bit of highlight going on, not much however to prevent distraction from whats important on this item. The paint is very subtle there and in my opinion shading in game does all what is needed for those parts to stay interesting and also to sustain vertical details gradient which Valve suggested in their guidelines. Meaning that both color and detail should be limited while going lower on character.
i also think if you get into the punishment pool you get half instead of no battlepoints.
Don't hesitate to ask/suggest/criticize and so one. The more I will know what is good or bad in your opinion, the better I will be able to produce next sets that will be liked by you all :) Right now I have hard time to guess witch is better in sets, if that's storytelling, or good look and bad ass designs :)
