Is there any config that makes these buildable one at a time? Using CI and would fit in better that way
pipiship Apr 10 @ 6:48pm
@Sneezy Sorry for the super late reply. Just saw this, I did get it working but to tell the truth I'm not sure how. I am no longer using AML since the new launcher update. maybe that has something to do with it.
Sneezy Sep 24, 2024 @ 3:57am
@pipiship by any chance, were you able to fix that issue? I can't seem to make this mod works back to WOTC after trying out LWOTC
pipiship Aug 12, 2023 @ 7:27am
Deleted this mod for a LWOTC play through as it’s not needed there. Now back to the base game of WOTC I subscribed again but it no longer works in game. Any suggestions? Using AML.
chantzofdeth May 27, 2023 @ 3:39pm
In the LWOTC mod does anyone know where the configuration for the platings are? I am trying to revert the changes to make it compatible with tesla rages armor upgrades mod.
zin Apr 10, 2023 @ 5:26am
@MrViciao I know this comment is five years old, but thank you so much!

For anyone curious, to use these in vest slots added by mods that add vest slots, change the item type from ‘plating’ to ‘defense’ (not ‘vest’ like I tried at first).
zin Apr 9, 2023 @ 8:43am
Love the mod, but I’d love an option to make it so that the ceramic vest is not available in infinite quantities to all soldiers – but rather, has to be purchased.
zin Mar 19, 2023 @ 10:55pm
@Quadsons Use Alternative Mod Launcher.
Quadson Nov 11, 2022 @ 6:48pm
Hey so i accidentally unsubscribed from the mod and updated my mod manager and turns out i needed it so i subbed back and now it wont show in my mod manger when i update can someone help me please
CaptainKampfkeks Nov 26, 2021 @ 12:17am
Yes. Long War 2.
Killer Oct 5, 2021 @ 7:53am
is there a vanilla version?
XpanD Aug 27, 2021 @ 7:24am
Just finished a campaign with about 280 mods, this one included, and had no major issues! Thanks for putting this up, these were incredibly useful.
Dęąth Viper Aug 24, 2021 @ 6:29pm
is there a way to make plating buildable and not infinite?
Captain Obvious Feb 26, 2021 @ 11:32pm
Is this thread dead?
I want to add mobility, fortress, mind-shield, aim, and shields to this. Anyone know how to do that?
Basically, I want to make it the equivalent of "cheat vest" for normal xcom2
Havoc Squad May 15, 2020 @ 8:21am
any way to add Mobility to the stats granted by the various platings?
CaptainKampfkeks May 11, 2020 @ 8:57am
Yes, it does. Check it out, it's still on the workshop.
Lampros May 11, 2020 @ 8:42am
Whoah, looks overpowered. Does the LW mod present more difficult or numerous enemies? Just curious.
Dr. Bashir May 2, 2020 @ 8:03am
Is there any way to add regen for this shields?
Dragon32 Apr 13, 2020 @ 11:26am
@robbiestrayer
Leave text in square brackets, like the below, as is.
[LW2WOTC_CeramicPlating X2EquipmentTemplate]

Change text like this:
FriendlyName="Ceramic Plating"
to
FriendlyName="Kevlar Plating"
Darth_Smuckleton Apr 13, 2020 @ 8:10am
Yeah, that very well may be the case. I have very little experience messing with these things.
Dragon32 Apr 13, 2020 @ 7:14am
@Dragon32
That's fine. You're probably doing it wrong.
Darth_Smuckleton Apr 13, 2020 @ 6:57am
Yeah, that didn't work. It still says Ceramic instead of Kevlar for the starting tier. Thanks for trying though.
Dragon32 Apr 12, 2020 @ 12:51pm
@robbiestrayer
If you want to change the names displayed in-game then change the localisation files (usually XComGame.int for English)
Darth_Smuckleton Apr 12, 2020 @ 11:39am
If I want to change the name of the vests to: Kevlar, Ceramic, Alloy, and Elerium; all I have to do is change the names in the .ini?
GargakOfTheEast Feb 10, 2020 @ 9:25pm
I really like this mod because it just makes the game a little more bearable. It got lame when enemies could get mega lucky and either kill or severely wound a good soldier. These ablative armor vests make it a little more difficult for them to get lucky.
Sniper677™ Sep 17, 2019 @ 7:00am
Added an initial German translation as discussion topic above. It was compiled from original source of LW2 by Pavonis Interactive.
Flamingcheesepie Sep 10, 2019 @ 11:13am
A shitty workaround involves changing cost/time to build them for free, but that still requires autopsies and the proving ground.
HULLO May 16, 2019 @ 6:41pm
@Stephen trying to figure that out also, guess you could just make them free in the .ini file to make them free as a workaround
Stephen May 12, 2019 @ 6:35am
How to make the tier 1,2,3 be an unlimited improvement of the squad, and not the only copy (exactly like Ceramic Plating)?
FFloid Mar 2, 2019 @ 2:12am
Hey, is there any way to make the ceramic plating a build-per-unit item, available from the start like the flashbang or medkit?
Rtma Eros Paragon Feb 28, 2019 @ 6:03am
@fededyb
You need to find your workshop folder in steam, find whatever drive you have it on then follow the path Steam > steamapps > workshop > content > 268500 (I think that's the game's ID?) > 1318532978 > Config > XComWOTC_LW2_Plating.ini to adjust settings, personal preference I adjusted is I bumped up the plating of each tier to give some sense of progression, like 3 - 6 - 9 - 12 for example, Enjoy.
fededyb Feb 1, 2019 @ 11:04am
HI I cannot find where is the configurable file for this, can some help? XComWOTC_LW2_Plating.in is nowhere to be found
BTAxis Jan 8, 2019 @ 1:38pm
I changed ITEM_CATEGORY to "vests", but in my running campaign this did not make a difference. Does it need a new game to take effect?
space is cool Jan 4, 2019 @ 4:05pm
could I config it so that alloy and ceramic can be used at the same time?\
t64 Nov 9, 2018 @ 7:06am
Thereis no foundry in wotc so how does this work in worc? Guerilla tacs? Proving ground?
Swanky Oct 21, 2018 @ 1:45am
Is there a way I can either deactivate the ceramic plating or make it so I have to have an Advent Officer autopsy first?
CaptainKampfkeks Oct 20, 2018 @ 5:01am
Ahh, I see. Thank you very much.
Dragon32 Oct 20, 2018 @ 2:15am
@CaptainKampfkeks:
XCOM 2's Workshop folder is 268500 and then this mod's folder is the same ID number as is in this page's URL (id=xxxx)
CaptainKampfkeks Oct 13, 2018 @ 6:08am
Can somebody point me in the direction of the mod folder? I want to change the supply cost
MrViciao Oct 6, 2018 @ 8:49am
For this mod to work with the vest slot mod, set 'ITEM_CATEGORY=defense' in the ini file
Schadenfreude Sep 15, 2018 @ 1:14am
@Astral Descend
That's not a bug.
Astral Descend Jul 23, 2018 @ 6:07am
Bug report: does not absorb fall damage
4rrakis Jul 15, 2018 @ 10:06pm
Yes, that is corrrect.
DERPKING1991 Jul 15, 2018 @ 4:18pm
So it does work like the lw2? where you can have one of each on one person?
4rrakis Jul 15, 2018 @ 3:13pm
Not two vests, but one vest and one plating.
DERPKING1991 Jul 15, 2018 @ 3:10pm
So will this work just like lw2 where you can have two vesf on a person?
darktroopmk3 Jul 12, 2018 @ 6:57am
great work though
darktroopmk3 Jul 12, 2018 @ 6:56am
need a vanilla version please, I do not have wotc. :steamsad:
CptB3RRY Jul 8, 2018 @ 5:27pm
@p6kocka
Any luck with getting it to work with the vest slot mod?
I tried setting 'ITEM_CATEGORY=vest' in the ini file but that didn't seem to do anything
p6kocka Jul 2, 2018 @ 1:32am
@Favid
Does somebody know how to make it work with Vest slot mod?
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1293714688
It won´t recognize tis platings as vests.
